Kim Myles is a Pro on the Today Show
It is hard to believe that it was less than two years ago when Kim Myles was named the winner of Design Star. She is a testament to how quickly and how completely the title can change a life — not to mention influence millions of TV viewers. Kim has become one of HGTV’s most loved designers.
This was Kim then.

This was Kim recently when she served as a guest judge on HGTV’s $250,000 Challenge. The host of Myles of Style was on hand to challenge and encourage the contestants vying for the quarter-million-dollar prize. She knows a little something about designing a room on a deadline when there are big stakes at hand.

Kim Myles is flanked by HGTV stars Kristan Cunningham and John Gidding.
And this was Kim just last week on the Today Show when she was asked to tackle a timely topic: how to decorate a bedroom on a budget.
Kim’s ideas included: repurposing an old lace tablecloth as a headboard, framing tin ceiling tiles for simple art that shines and making lighting fixtures with twine, glue and a balloon. She described the look as country with clean lines and contemporary with rustic touches. Good stuff.
Alongside Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, Kim was a delight to watch, as confident and charming as ever, rolling with the punches of live TV — a true professional on camera and I’m told, off camera as well. Check out the entire segment here or to see more of Kim’s ideas on video, visit the Myles of Style show page.
Congrats, Kim! How fun to watch your Design Star rise higher and higher. Will the next design star hopefuls be as bright? We’ll soon see! T-minus 26 days and counting!

i really love the designs featured on myles of style.kim’s designs sre terrific and unique.i would enjoy seeing more of her show. hgtv need more people of color and diversity.
HGTV needs outstanding designers for their shows, experienced and well-trained. Color and diversity should have nothing to do with good design.
i really enjoy myles of style and was upset when it wasn’t showing. kim’s designs are very unique and terrific. hgtv needs more people of color and diversity to help balance the shows audience. kims keep up the good work.
You go girl (Kim)..I was wondering when you would have new episodes on I got a little tired of the same ones over and over…Little lady you ROCK….
I love how Kim pulls off excellent designs that are recession friendly. I’ve been watching her re-runs and is still glued. HGTV must give her more air time. She’s got talent!!!!
It amazes me that HGTV’s middle aged Shirley Temple is still on the air. After David their hasn’t been a real designer emerge and I’m sure if it wasn’t for the VERY talented HGTV staff, to back her up, she’d be back in the beauty salon where she belongs.
what a hateful comment, yeaks
Well said!
I agree – her designs are mostly amateurish and/or gaudy – but it appears that's what HGTV is looking for now – for example, the new design star, David Ballatore who looks and acts like a hoodlum.
I recently saw a promo for the new show and was thrilled to see the new judges i love love love candice and geneive was always a favorite of mine on trading spaces and love her new show but in promo it looks like they get into a tiff and i have to say the one thing i hate is when judges get into it with each other so unnecessary and mean judges they are the worst why is it necessary to be mean constructive is best,
I also agree with Sandra. Kim is GREAT!!! Please bring her show back! Keep up the good work Kim!
I just love Kim Myles. She really gives the viewer who does not have mega bucks design styles that are not far from reach on a budget. She looks at room with a fresh new eye, and gives her rooms a “come in and sit a while” feeling. Her rooms are not just good to look at but rooms you would love to work in and enjoy! As the kids say: Kim’s the bomb!! She has a personality that makes me wish she was a personal friend. I want more KIM!! I’m an avid fan!
I also love Kim, but i’m wondering what happened to Jennifer Bertrand and a show for her that we’ve been waiting for all year?????
I also love Kim. What is she doing now? I miss her shows. Will she be back? She was one of the best
right behind Matt Fox and Sheri Hiller. They are the two best you've had on for many years.
