Dooce Comes to the Design Star Blog
We’ll have a new face on the Design Star blog this year. Heather Armstrong, aka Dooce, will be doing the episode recaps on Sunday nights right after the show at 11/10c.
If you haven’t had the chance to read her posts on Design Happens yet, they’re a must-read, and be sure to come back here on Sunday night for the latest dish!
Totally open to see what Heather Armstrong, aka Dooce, will bring to the Design Star series commentary. I'm sure we're bound to get some strong opinions expressed on both sides of the blog. When it comes to design, it's all personal, and sometimes it gets a bit wild. Hope that Heather can take some of the give and take, push and pull that's bound to hit the blog-waves.

I hope this batch of "designers" has at least a modicrum of talent, unlike the last season, which reached a point where I couldn't care less who won. They were all losers.
the only season in which there was a "winner" of talent was the first…. second winner only had one design that was good and that was the last show…. I did not watch the third season, but never heard of her having a show and Antonio may have some talent, but he is so over the top that he hides any talent he might have…. hopefully, this year, we'll have someone who has talent
Not liking Nina at all-she isn't very good and quite a back stabber. Hope she doesn't make it far.

Why do these people put themselves through this crap. HGTV selects a winner, gives them a contract, run the show for a few weeks and then the winner is sent into the void of canceled show. The only design star they've ever supported has been the first winner. I think HGTV needs to be called on this sham of show and be told that we're tired of their bull sh*t, they bias and their conning their viewers. We need to tell them: WE'RE TIRED OF BEING JERKED AROUND AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO TOLERATE ANYMORE!!!! LETS NOT WATCH THIS STUPID SHOW FOR A 5TH SEASON. IT'S FIXED, THE JUDGES ARE THE BIGGEST, POMPUS, BUTT KISSERS THEY HAVE AND WOULDN'T GIVE AN HONEST OPINION IF YOU ASKED THEM WHAT THE WEATHER WAS LIKE. That's just my opinion.
You hit the nail on the head…What happened to all the GOOD shows??? Design Star sucks and so does Vern Yip and Genevieve Gorder….HGTV put Dear Genevieve between Devine Design and Color Splash …I watch Devine Design and Color Splash and turn off Dear Genevieve….Where is Kim Myles?? You are right..it is bull sh*t ….I think I'm going to cancel HGTV from my fall line up.
Nina needs to go! If she won I would not watch her show.
Too many commercials. I watch HGTV to learn and to be able to take something away from the show. I don't care about the commercials, at all. Vern, are you listening? Too many commercials.
Thats why I DVR the shows I watch. Once you have a DVR you will never go back.
I DESPISED Nina's room. Her "client/inspiration partner" despised her room. HOW could the judges have picked her as the winner? The masses judged the winner to be someone that was in the bottom 6. They're apparently out of touch with what most people find attractive. What is wrong with you JUDGES???????

I agree.. she is an absolute witch and lied (like a rug) about what she said to Courtland… her rendition of his likes/personality was just awful…. I don't know how the judges could have picked her as the best designer… there were others who's rooms were so lovely and they picked that piece of crap! shame on them!!!!!!!
YAWN, the first show was really a bore. Where is Clive?? At least he brought some life to the show.
YES! Clive was the best thing on the show. It is deadly dull without his dry sense of humor and funny presentation. So sad, too, because it was one of my favorite shows for years. Fortunately, I have 154 other channels to choose from.
