I totally agree with BklynGirl2!! What Nina did to Courtland was sooooo wrong! All I could think was "Poor Courtland!" He totally gets my sympathy vote. I actually thought he did a really good job on the challenge. His room was cute and cohesive. But yeah, Nina will not get anywhere with that kind of attitude. And even if she did win, her ratings would probably suck and the show would get canceled. She needs to realize that what goes around, comes around and I trust she will be getting her fair share of shadiness.
After seeing the online bios for all the contestants, I'm actually looking forward to seeing more of Trent and his work. He seems down to earth and I really like the designs from his HGTV bio.
I MISS CLIVE! What I find incredible about the whole Nina/Courtland fiasco, was that the judges seem to have condoned Nina's treachery and berated Courtland for NOT being treacherous. What are these judges thinking. HGTV needs to bring back the original judges and Clive.

I think I'm being duped again , just like last year, only with different people.

First let me say that Candice Olson is THE BEST designer on the planet, followed by Sarah of Sarah’s House.
I watched the show and thought the “winner” of that episode did not have the best design. I found the Chinese paper umbrellas all over the walls to be sophomoric. Tera Hampton’s room was much more attractive. Too bad Julie was cut, her portfolio was good and she isn’t hard to look at.
BTW: HGTV if you are trying to make some kind of social statement with the constant parade of nontraditional couples and families on your shows you are going to loose viewership. It’s getting rather obvious and rather boring.
i feel JULIA SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE ONE TO GO .SHE HAD A LOT OF CHARISMA.ALSO NINA IS A ROYAL B—————I HATED HER ATTITUDE TOWARD CORTLAND AND SHE SHOULD BE THE NEXT ONE TO GO I WOULD NEVER WATCH A SHOW SHE WOULD BE ON.
One of my gn favorite shows of the summer has been Design Star…why did they have to go and mess it up…Clive please come back…tell the new production company to stick with fashion shows not design…Always love Olsens design..and most of the time Vern's …but his attitude has gotten way out of hand…..needs bring down a notch or two
What happened to Clive? I miss him and "Your show has been cancelled" too. The design that won was horrible. What were the judges thinking? I can hang paper umbrellas all over the place too.
Why is Clive gone??? I don't care for the new format of this season at all.
This year the show is so boring. It needs Clive to revive it. Genevieve Gorder is the worst judge they have and in fact the judges do not relate well to each other without Clive running interference for them. Genevieve comes across as hoping no one wins so she does not have competition for air time. This show should be CANCELED!
Thank you thank you. I thought I was the only one who thought this was awful. Clive needs to be there and I think that the concept of "Design Apprentice" is pretty stupid…wheeling their suitcases to the final, getting put with the same people on teams every week, concentrating on the interaction between contestants instead of the design. Whose idiot idea was this format anyway?
