Fan Vote is Back!
Design Star premieres this Sunday at 10/9c. Time to catch up on past episodes, get to know the new designers, visit us on Facebook and most importantly, the fan favorite vote is back!
Every day, you have the chance to vote up to 10 times for your favorite designer and the winner will win a show on HGTV.com. Last season’s winner, Dan Vickery, transforms kids’ rooms and nurseries for our Kid-Sized Design series.

I do not like this year's format of Design Star. I miss Clive. I don't like the group projects the designers are participating in this year, and I don't enjoy the role of Vern as the moderator of the show. Clive added a dimension to the show that kept me interested. I realize shows often have to or want to revamp a format to increase viewship, but I believe they went in the wrong direction. Everything seems to be done on the cheap this year, and they are melding too many aspects of other shows into Design Star. By the way – other than David, where are the shows of the other winners? And I cannot stand Antonio's show–the winner from last year. Don't like his demeanor or so-called design approach. Design Star – you need to readdress what you are doing, or your viewship will dwindle.
I think this year is boring. I don't like the group projects. It must be less expensive than each designer doing his own room each time. Those huddles to decide who goes home are so fake. I think they've already decided who's going to win. The focus is on controversy between contestants. Too bad. The judges seem ineffective and not relevant at all. I thought this was all about creativity and design! Such a disappointment. Sinking to lowest level of entertainment and sacrificing creativity.
Not having Clive put the finish on me watching this show. Last year it was hard enough to get through it with having judges that have their own shows and not letting you chose the winner. Now no Clive !!! No reason to watch for sure. Should judges that have shows be judging for their competition they have to face. Please go back to having Clive and judges that are not on HGTV. I can't stand to watch their shows after seeing them as judges.
Design Star may be cancelled if they don't read some of the blogs on this site. Man, I would be a little worried if I were the producers. Do they really believe that we are going to keep watching & hoping Nina gets kicked off each week?
I am done. I will continue to vote for Dan, who was the only reason any of the 'girls team' rooms were ever completed & I'll check the website to see who wins, not that I really care anymore.
Clive is gone and for some reason it has become stylish for the designers to be rude, callous, snobs and oh so very esoteric in their reasoning. Shame on you Vern, Gene-whatever, and especially you Candace. I've lost interest in your shows now that I see the less than charming side of you. One less viewer tonight.
This new format is BORING! I want more of each disigner being responsible for a room. This enables you to see if they have any talent. So far David B. is the only worthy designer to come from this show. Where are they finding these contetants?? Too much bickering goes on each week…..grow up kids!
After reading all the comments I just had to add my two cents worth. I totally agree with a lot of the comments i.e. how did Anthony get voted the top designer? Hate his show – only watched one and that was one too many!. What ever happened to Myles of Style? I think it was a big mistake to move David to Florida – don't much care for his show anymore as it has become too off the wall in both color and design! If HGTV doesn't change you are going to lose a lot of viewers!!!!!
I googled what has happened to HGTV and found these comments. I am pleased to read that others share my opinions. I loved Decorating Cents, Design on A Dime. Every day, it 's House Hunters, My First Place. I want to know what to do with the house I have!!
I agree with you dee. I want to know how to make my house look better.
They really need to change Design Star back to what it originally was, and also bring Clive back.
