Design Star season 5 just started and it’s already our biggest season yet. It hasn’t even been 24 hours since the premiere and the blog is jam packed full of content.

When I saw that Clive is no longer on the show (promotional ads), I decided that I don't want to watch the show this season. I am very disappointed because I look forward to DS ever summer.
David Bromstad, I hope this is not the end of your old team they were the best, I never miss the show, even though we see a lot of repeats on the east coast.You and Eain and Clair, Danie, are like fine wine and good food, you go togetable so well. I watched the new show it was ok, team not half as good.Good luck. fan
I agree. The team seemed to lack experience and star quality. So many things went wrong it appeared someone had forgotten the new episodes needed to go into production- let's hurry and throw something together. I wondered why I had stayed up until midnight to watch. Can we have the old sparkle back? Hey- it's Miami, do her justice!
Where is Clive – he helped to make the show more exciting and interesting. I love the current judges but they don't do it for the hosts. Clive ROCKED and I want to see him come back…it just isn't Design Star without him.
I cannot believe that you are having the show without Clive. He was always a blast and made the show more fun. Bring him back

That is so true! Clive was like half of design star!
Clive is my favorite and he should be on DS. I don't see him on a show with Lisa LaPorta, either. What's going on?

I wait all year for Design Star to come on and this year is horrible
First off, where is Clive?
Ok, I do like 2 out of the 3 judges…but let's face it they do not have Clive's personality and cannot host this show without him.
What in the world were the producer's thinking.It's not even the same show and it has so far been very boring.

I agree I want Clive and I like 2 out of 3 judges Bring back Clive I do not know if I can watch such a boring show,
OK. So the same producer as Survivor is involved. Let's make this confrontational and controversial too. Lets have the judges offer snide comments instead of constructive criticism. Let's kick up a few feathers. I have admired all three judges for years, especially Vern and Candace. I was very disappointed in the tone of the judges comments. I'll bet that behind the scenes the designers were encouraged to act badly. How about a good old fashioned competition instead?
Agree 100%…the show is awful without Clive!!!! The judges are trying too hard…they are not hosts! Bring Clive back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I felt bad for Court. Nina was the nasty little weasel. I wasn't impressed with her design at all. Parasols???? Her design looked more Asian market, expected, uninteresting. Court did a much better job: simple and serene. Candice acted very unprofessionl when she judged Julie's room. Candice did not give constructive criticism, but decided to make fun of Julie's design. Very uncool Candice that you would try to get a laugh at Julie's expense. Tera's room was very good as was Michael's. I'm just very surprised that Nina's room was the top design—ew.
I agree, Nina was quite nasty. I hope she doesn't go very far, especially if she keeps up that attitude!!!
This seems to be a common remark. WHERE IS CLIVE????????? He was one of the MAIN reasons why I loved watching this show. It's just not working with the 3 judges. It's so impersonal and blah. BRING BACK CLIVE!!!!
This is one of those times when, "If it ain't broke don't fix it." really works. Where is Clive? The heart of the show. What happened to "Your show has been cancelled?" The changes that have been made do NOT make a better show. It just did not seem to flow at all. I may not watch another show this season.
I especially hate the bringing the packed suitcases to the elimination. So tired and stupid.
I cannot agree more. Clive was great. Not impressed this season at all. Money talks. If they loose viewership, then maybe they'll go back to the way it was next season.
I personally had enough of "where is Clive"…The shows just another boring reality show, and his presence DOES NOT make it anymore exciting, or interesting…HGTV has too many reruns…I miss seeing brand new episodes of shows that made HGTV popular…They need to go back to basics…And for heaven sake, bring back Kenneth Brown…He was one of the best designers you had working on your network.

I watched last night's show, looking forward to this season, but when the show was over I was so upset that the judges kept the blonde instead of the asian girl who not only had a better bedroom (a matter of opinion) but did a far better job of room presentation (undeniable!) I don't know what they were thinking, or what their agenda is, but that decision was proof that we can not trust their opinions.
