Sneak Peek: Episode 2
This week the designers tackle their first team challenge: men vs. women! Do you think Nina will play well with others? Will Emily step up her game this week and prove she deserved to be saved?

Hopefully Nina will be gone soon.She is just plain nasty.her remarks and the looks she gets on her face are terrible.I do not know how she won last week,she should have been in the bottom group.Last seasons winner was terrible,lets not do that again.
Wow you hit the nail on the head. Nina is very inappropriate. I would hate to have her as a designer. I would be afraid she would want to get even with me if I didn't like her designs. She is a traitor and should be put in her place. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, her umbrellas were the equivalent of Antonio's pink ducks. This is another set-up. Where is Clive? Are we going to be able to vote. Truthfully, after last season I find it hard to watch the shows of any of the judges.
I soooo agree!! She drives me crazy. If she isn't eliminated soon I may not be able to finish watching the season. I think that Vern should watch the entire episode before saying that anyone is "letting" themselves be run over. Can't stand Nina!
Just let Nina go and do her thing-she has either set herself up for a fall or… Odds are it will be just an ok mural. She has done the rest of you a favor and you can work out the rest of the design as a team. She is not a team player and it will be her demise unless she softens up a bit. She could have used her strong personality to rally the team but she has decided to be the angry, loner, dictator wanna be. Unless this "mural" kicks some major arse she has set herself up for no friends/allies and a quick exit. Did she call Stacey "sweetie"? That are not kewl.
Is design star trying to match those terrible survivor series where knifing people in the back are rewarded? Nina didn't really meet her client's needs–its likely to catch up to her before long.

I’ve been waiting for this show for quite awhile, thanks HGTV! Well, Most of the contestants are really awesome yet fortunately one of them is just plain arrogant and mean. I’m sure, you guys already knew who I’m referring to … Nina! (who else?) Gosh! I just hope she’ll not make it to the finals.

I agree! When did Vern become so bitter? I like the show, but having to listen to him complain about the minutiae of the room is annoying. Who is he trying to be?

if it ain't broke don't fix it. they never should have brought on Genevieve and never got rid of Clive. Vern does portray him self as the god of design and has to have the freaking last word. when did he become a jerk.
HATE the new format!! Bring back Clive!! Listening to Vern's voice overs is SUCH a snooze fest!! And that smug Genevieve, ugh!! I agree with the other posts, Nina is a BEEYATCH with a capital B! Not sure if I can make it through another week with this format…..
Yes, where is Clive. I love his dry sense of humor. Sick to death of Genevieve – how did she get two shows last fall and now two shows again. She's a terrible designer. I love Candice, but she's getting old quick, too. Vern can't manage a show of his own – his series was CANCELLED and he's so officious.
I miss Clive too! He has so much personality. Maybe Vern has Napoleon complex!
I thought Clive was kinda mean too. Right along there with Yip.
I agree about the judges. Vern and Genevieve are annoying and neither of them have any talent as designers so why are they even on the show? Candace has a lot of talent and her feedback has substance. They need Clive or another energetic entertaining host. Get rid of Vern and Genevieve.
You are so right I hate the new format so Donald Trump, And Survivor. i miss Clive he added so much. and I disliked the first 2 challenges. hope next ones are better, and Nina is a worm hope a big chicken eats her
I agree. Where is Clive? I don't see him and Lisa LaPorter any more. I don't like to see Vern or Genevieve. David Bromstad is always funny and kind.
Have you all checked out Nina's design photos on the bio pages? I don't know why they picked her for the show-her designs (if you can call them that!) are LOUSY. They are unimaginative, boring, and she thinks she's God's gift to design! Poor narcissitic, conceited, clueless B!

You answered your own question. She was not chosen because she's good. She was chosen because she bring the drama to the show.
Unlike the majority of the commentators in the BLOG, I LOVED Antonio last season's winner. His designs are FRESH. He may not be the designer of choice for someone who is looking for the same old thing – he'c cutting edge with an interesting eye for style. Keep his programs coming!!!
As for this season – Not feeling Nina. I didnt ;ike her design and I thought Dan's was Very Good! Lets see what happens tonight.
His show bombed – they took him off after only three shows. How many music studios is anyone going to want designed. Thank goodness he's gone.
I thought Antonio was pretty cool too. And he had the best temperament too.
