When I go to a B&B I want to see something like a whitewashed floor. It really gave the spirit of a beachhouse. The design or idea of it was great IMHO.
I hated the fabric in Megs headboard. Bright colors in the chest and side were great. She ignored those doors. and still won.
I love whitewashed floors esp. at the beach but it needed a couple coats of clear polyurethene (sp) and days for drying. The idea was right but not enough time for application!
I agree about the headboard fabric, too wild for my tastes at a relaxing B&B. I wouldn't be able to sleep beneath it!

BUT in order to vent my frustration over her even being on my fav show Design Star, I went surfing and found a few of her accomplishments. This one inparticular on decks and siding kind of won me over, http://www.metroresidentialtv.com/ , now remember I do not LIKE HER ON DESIGN STAR, but maybe she's intimidated? Having a 40 something moment and being a b_itch? I gotta say she is pretty good on these videos. Where this am I was ready to CALL the producers of HGTV about her, I now will give her a little more time,…….hmmmmmm.
Tammy, I could not have said it better. She really needs to go. No one has been able to get along with her so far.
I watched the video you referenced. Cathy is in real estate and only showing these properties. No where did it say she designed any thing. Maybe you need to watch it again.
That's what I got out of it too. She and her partner (wonder how that works out?) are showcasing property. They have nothing to do with the designs.
I agree Cathy must go. It is hard to watch her with her eyes rolling. She does not come across good on camera. I did not Meg's fabric choices, too bold, not a comfort for a B&B. I want calm and luxury in a bedroom. I did not like the rugs Leslie put on the walls either. All I could thing of was how dirty they must have been. So far I'm not impressed with anyone. I'll watch next week, maybe someone will start to shine.
Telling her partner, as if he were 10 years old, "Don't ever speak to me that way again." She needs to go home just for bad behavior!
Not stimulated by Cathy in any way. This is not good TV to keep her, HGTV. Other than an example of how not to act. Somebody who won't get "her hands dirty" when everyone else is working like dogs
is very sad indeed. Get rid of her now!
Since all the episodes of the show have already been filmed, no changes can be made – no matter how much we beg. We're just going to have to enjoy bashing Cathy until the judges dispose of her. . .what ever episode it happens to be.
I'm so relieved to read everyone's comments on Cathy just in case I was the only one who can't tolerate her. All she does is shop and doesn't help. She hasn't gotten along with anyone she's worked with. I wouldn't hire her to design my outhouse just because of her attitude…..not that I see any real talent.

I agree, I wouldn't want Cathy working on any room I have, toilet or any other! I only hear I's out of her mouth, she doesn't let anyone have a say in the design. As much as I do think that Tyler should have gone home, I think the judges should have given him another chance just so Cathy could have gotten the boot. Go home Cathy, we don't want you here, your ego is far too large, you don't work well with anyone and you leave me with a bad taste in my mouth!
I don't like the host, Tanieka. She is pushy and trying hard to copy Hiedi from another program. She needs to soften up and stop being someone she is not.

She's better than week one but still has a way to go. As I wrote previously, she seems to be trying to
emulate Tyra Banks in a militaristic way.
I do not like Cathy. I hope whoever is unfortunate enough to work with her leaves demo to her and THEY go shopping. Or, they make a list of items each person will decide on. I find her designs to be nice but ho hum and boring.
She is a big trouble maker. Just like Penny on the Next Food Network Star!
Cathy is simply INTOLERABLE ! If she were to win I certainly would never watch her show. Shes a BITCH with a capital B-I-T-C-H!

She must have family voting non stop! If she doesn't go next week I am done watching til she is gone. I can't believe they have kept her this long. She is not that talented and what a BITCH!!!!
Because she is a member of RESA, and on their website they are promoting her to all of their members and "begging" them to vote for her 10 times a day. They even provide a link to the voting to make it very convenient to her bidding!
I just hope the judges know that and don't put too much credit to the vote since it is padded. She is so rude and self serving that she makes my teeth hurt.
I'll tell u why…..just look at her FB page! Begging for E1 to vote 10 time daily. With the exception of 3 other posters, it is only she on her wall begging to save her extremely mis-placed EGO! She is not all that! In fact, she has years of experience in front of a camera and cannot even perform her "on camera" challenge sufficiently! Design skills questionable….just about any average Joe can take an empty space and make it look better for re-sale by purchasing (or renting) pretty things, hence, STAGING! HELLLLLOOOOOO! And it appears that is the only thing she is comfortable with….shopping! No elbow grease, no REAL INNOVATIVE DESIGN THOUGHTS, and the way she treats her peers (yes peers Cathy, not your General Contractors) is beyond belief! SHAME ON YOU HGTV FOR ALLOWING THIS TO CONTINUE FOR YOUR RATINGS GAME. One more week of this high school drop-out drama and I will be finished with DESIGN STAR! On a very personal note, Cathy, why not practice some tact and diplomacy while on National Television! Go ahead Cathy……I dare you…..Tell me "never talk to you like this again"….LOL!
David, I actually really liked Leslie and that other guy's (sorry, senior moment right now) room. But that's my personal style. I thought it was sharp, clean, and classy. And I like how you encourage and coach everyone constructively without crushing them.
Next, you and Candice are my all time favorite designers on HGTV. Can I ask a big favor? There has to be another word out there to describe re-using something other than "re-purpose". We viewers who are addicted to HGTV hear that a LOT from the different shows and it's gotten old.
I hope you all really do consider the preferences of the viewers and who we like and don't like. Antonio was an outright bully and yet he was chosen. I, to this day, refuse to watch his show, regardless of whatever talent he may or may not have.
So I'm not the only one who was so disappointed that Antonio won!
I have to say that I found Antonio to be arrogant and obnoxious……….very surprised that he won. HOWEVER, I have seen his show many times and he is so nice (genuinely so)…………..not at all how he was on Design Star! He is enjoyable to watch!
Hil… you are so right. I love Design Star, but I could never connect to Antonio because he was so much of a bully. I don't know how the ratings are for his show… but I do know that I am not one of his viewers. I wonder if they regret their decision?
In regards to a different word for re-purposing, I really like up-styling. It gives a sense of making something better.
