I am glad i have TIVO that way i can fast forward through anything with Cathy on it. It is like being stuck with an electric cattle prod watching her.
That is exactly what I do. It seems that HGTV has decided that they prefer quality informative programing for reality shows that sound more and more like MTV
Cathy is a problem and I would think the judges must have figured that out because every time she works with someone the results are the same. Trying to be assertive with her does not work because she thinks she knows everything. Short of having Karl remove all her "props" I'm not sure what he could have done. I just wonder if she acts this way with her clients….not listening to their ideas, etc.
If Cathy wins you are losing another viewer. As my suggestion per last week Just put Cathy & Penny, from Food Network Star, in the same room and see what diva, "in their minds only", would survive. Actually why don't they pair each one of these women with their hosts–Vern with Cathy, Penny with Bobby Flay, and have others judges critique their work. Let's see how they like losing because their work didn't measure up after being paired with "know it all airheads".
Jane, what a great idea pairing Cathy with one of the judges! That would really be an eye-opener. I'd never consider hiring a designer with Cathy's arrogance. And I'd definitely not watch a show hosted by her. In fact, I'm so disappointed in the judges for not seeing Cathy for who she is that I am considering not watching the rest of the Design Star series this time around.
Good idea! Hope the producers read your comments. Your idea would make for a fascinating show,tho' probably not a kind show.

I know this show is already in the can, but it would have been great if one of the judges had to do a challenge with her. Then they could have seen how she behaves.

At least Penny could cook but Kahy doesn't design and both have the personality of feral cats.

Ever notice how reality shows always have one contestant you love to hate? Cathy is HGTV's.
She is arrogant, gets criticized every week for her limited talent and yet she stays…
I don't love to hate her. I just hate her. I want her gone. She's taking up space that more talented and engaging designers could be occupying.
Cathy is the problem with her arrogant attitude and not getting along with the other
contestants. She treats them like they are her slaves. Always trying to tell them
what to do. I would not watch her show if she happens to win.

I agree with everything everyone is saying about Kathy. She is arrogant, does not work well with others, and has not had any design "wow" moments. Her camera challenge was insincere. I have a feeling that they are keeping her on just to add drama.
Keeping Cathy on as "DRAMA" is ruining this show for me. I want to watch this design show and relax. Every time I see Cathy it ruins the show for me. Cathy has to go. David Bromstad I love you and your show, please use whatever influence you have and get rid of Cathy

There were wrongs and rights in every kitchen. I still beg the producers to quit giving us the 'DUELING DUOS" and give us the designers creating their OWN spaces. If you'll look through the postings here on the computer, you will see more than you did on the TV program. That's a shame!

I agree with you about Clive. He was funny and witty. The producers finally realized there was something missing without a host from last year's show, but this host is fake and comes off stiff. I agree with all the other posters about Cathy. When she won this week I was shocked. Do the contestant not watch the previous season's episodes? Cathy made the same mistake as a former contestant by over accessorizing the kitchen—too much stuff!

Where did that new host come from anyway? She is not very popular like Clive. I love Clive too.
Don't miss him…but I am tired of Vern [aka Trading Spaces]…I gather he is a shareholder of HGTV…Candice is probably the best judge the show has had…As for Ms. G…well watch her shows and you have to wonder when she would have been sent home!
If I wanted to hire one of your competing designers or even watch their own HGTV design program it would NOT be Cathy's.Yes, she is comfortable filming because she is a newscaster. She lucked out there. But she steam rolls everyone. A paying client's wishes would be totally ignored.She comes across soharsh,so cold, uncaring and unfeeling, and acting like a bully. I cringe having to watch her. Please, do us a favor and let her go sooner rather than later. I guarantee I'd never watch her if she gets her own show..
