Despite massive over-staging efforts that made Vern quip “Is there anything left in the grocery store?,” Cathy’s on-camera experience gave her the edge in this week’s Sears Kitchen Camera Challenge. Watch her winning video now.
I cannot believe this woman is still here! First of all she is completely not-able to work nicely with others. Maybe she needs to go back to kindergarten to learn this skill? Secondly she over-does the staging to the point that it looks like someone suffering from OCD designed the rooms. Judges please get rid of her!!!
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU !!!!! SHE CAN'T WORK WITH ANYONE, IN FACT, SHE DOESN'T WANT TO!! IF SHE WINS I WILL NEVER WATCH HER ! SHE HAS NO PEOPLE SKILLS AND HOW DOES SHE GIVE A CLIENT WHAT THEY WANT…IT'S HER WAY OR THE HIGH-WAY!!!!
She has the teeth of an imbred horse, and about the people skills to match! I cannot believe she is still on the show, she gets all these comments about her poor choices, but she stays. New York must be out of options if she is considered "professional". Her infinite frown and argumentive voice make me cringe every time she appears on the screen. She yells at her partner, while she paints at the speed of a turtle to get them to do her job for her. I hope she gets kicked off soon.
I completely agree. I would not watch a show with Cathy. She comes across so selfish, with a chip on her shoulder.

Cathy makes me wish that fans had a way to "vote her off the island"! She is too horrible for words. Rude, arrogant, not particularly talented, and more or less an open mouth breather I don't want to watch on television.

Jan, I couldn't agree more, the staging in that kitchen was a hot mess! Her overbearing personality makes her the least likable of all the contestants!!! Get rid of Cathy!!!
I can almost bet why she is still there. Let them keep it balanced and they will see in the end they will have no reason to create a show with her as the hostess.

Kathy is an evil woman. She is not warm at all. I cannot see her winning Design Star. She only knows how to shop, does not have any design concepts. Vote her off now.

Yes, get rid of Cathy–can't stand her personality…..so unlikable!! She fights with EVERYONE, then points her fingers when they get in trouble for it in judging. I would NEVER watch her show if she won!!
I so agree with you… Don't the judges see how she is a control freak… literal on the freakside. Yeah she's good in front of the camera hello – she was a reporter… as far as personality goes she sucks.
Although Cathy won the camera shoot, her attitude with the other designers is undesirable to say the least. It is obvious that she cannot get along with other people, and, that makes it a "no love" design. I don't know about you, but, I want love in my home if designed. And, on top of that, her designs are weak and child like.

This person is NOT a designer, she is a shopper and absolutely lazy. If I have to watch her BUG her eyes out one more time while she is talking, I think I will puke. I cannot believe she has lasted this long either.

I agree, I just watched the kitchen challenge and she was her usual pushy self. Cathy never wants to co-operate with the designer that was unlucky enough to get paired with her. She thinks she knows everything////but she doesn't. If she doesn't get booted off, I will quit watching the show. CATHY IS A PUSHY ______. SHE SUCKS.

This woman is so annoying…for tv who could stand to look at her face one whole minute…her gums show and her big teeth ugh. She's a bully, too. Her kitchen was disasterous…she has NO taste…take her off. Wake up, Judges. She stinks!
I definitely agree! She is not able to work with others EVER, I would not want to watch any show she may want to do, I find her just full of herself and cranky to boot! I don't care how does on a camera challenge, please get rid of this contestant for everyone else's sake!

She is good at performing in front of a camera, but she is so unlikable what would be the point in spending money to produce her show?
She said "good work FROW" about her kitchen triangle that wasn't even a triangle. She also claimed that the kitchen was contemporary when the judges said it wasn't and said that her "ODERN chairs" went well with that rustic table. She is a hot mess. She totally took over the staging and then, at evaluation, tried to put some of the blame on Karl. Cathy may be comfortable in front of the camera, but that doesn't mean anyone would be comfortable watching her from behind it.
The camera challenge is the only thing she is good at and that's even discussing with that horse mouth of her!!! YUCK!!!

I would not watch anything Cathy is a part of. I don''t really care for her designing and she is not a person anyone seems to be able to work with. Cathy also gives herself to much credit. She just isn't that good at designing. I don't like her video's because she is all about herself and nothing about designing. She would be a waste of time and money to continue on the show.

Cathy and Kevin wont last when they start the individual challanges. Unfortuatly Ty and Bret are already gone. I suppose it would be cheaper for HGTV if Cathy won because of her experience on camera. Cathy lacks depth. If you turned her sideways would wouldnt even see her, shes like one of those cardboard cut-outs of a person. I cant believe shes a home Stager, there wasnt an open inch on that countertop last night. Kevin has a few good ideas but then they never seem to work out quite right, he lacks the detailed thinking required to be a designer. Cathy and Kevin both need to start packing.
I agree completely…..Kathy maybe good in front of the camera but it all ends there. An Interior Designer /Stager she is not. She really need to get it, she's not all that.

I sooo totally agree – I almost didn't watch this year because of last year's events… if the judges can't stop playing mind games (negative attention is still attention), I just won't watch HGTV.
I will never watch cathy I think Mark should win the video it's a sad, sad world out there who will ever watch her show if she ever wins? .. lots of goodbyes to HGTV after they let Tyler go home it's the end of it ..the credidiblity is gone you can't trust this show anymore it's a big joke
I cannot watch her either. I want to turn the station every time I see her in a challenge. Do you ever notice that whoever is with her on a challenge ends up as one of the people on the bottom at the end every time? It does not matter if they are on the top the week before or the week after, they will ultimately end up on the bottom when they have to work with her. Surely the judges can see how bad she is to work with. I will not watch HGTV anymore if she makes it through to the end.

I soooo agree with you. I do not like her attitude and I don't think she is a great designer. Look at the staging of the kitchen, where was the work place. You know when people who do not have a creative mind would not know what to do in that kitchen. And she is not a team player so you know she probably doesn have a staff.
That is EXACTLY how I feel. I love this show but I get so angry every week because of her attitude. I would NEVER watch anything of hers. She has absolutely no design talent and with her pushy, over-bearing demeanor, she would do better designing a women's prison!!!!!
Maybe if no one clicks on to watch her video the station may get a hint

I agree all the comments here are useless coz TYLER a very talented one is gone ..cathy still there and kevin the less talented or no talent at all are surviving .. if all of us stopped watching this show for sure they will get the message right ? they may change their strategy and let TYLER come back
I didn't watch her video either, and even made sure it didn't auto-start just in case it would give her credit as a viewer! She once again steamrolled another designer and made it through. Good old fashioned word for her: MEAN.
Get Rid of Cathy!!!! She hasn't shown me anything new, great or original. She over stages, can't work with others, she thinks she's all that and a bag of chips too. Everyone that has worked with her on the challenges was eliminated. I think if given the chance to work without the wicked witch of the west they would have been able to show what they could do. If she wins a show of her own I will NOT be watching
and you will be wasting money producing her show. If she is a so-calle Stager she needs to go back to school and learn how to stage and not make a room look like someone barfed accessories helter skelter.
Like a bulldog!!! There is no "I" in the word TEAM honey!! You need to step down and these judges need to overlook just being good on camera. I could not imagine being on her "staff" while she barks out orders ME ME ME is all that I am hearing from her.

I am hopiing no one watches her camera challenge, and maybe the judges will get the hint. Her designs are boring, and mediocre, and I don't think she looks good on camera. She comes over artificial. Her personality is so bad I can't believe she is still on. I think she should have been let go last night for her overstaging and overbearing personality. It makes me wonder about the whole show.
they obviously are hoping to bring in a different group of people. If you noticed…there are fewer reasons at night to watch HGTV. They are never gardening or really working around the house…it is just BUY BUY BUY.
I would NEVER WATCH HER SHOW. As a matter of fact, HGTV doesn't get the hours of my time they did 10 years ago. Really have dropped off creative style. She is totally boring. A mean personality.

I told my sister last night it looked like a Penneys catalog page where they are trying to seel a bunch of kitcehn accessories. It was unpleasant to look at. Please do not make us watch her anymore. Maybe we need to go to the blogs of the judges and put our comments there.
The problem is, the show in it's entirety has already been completed. To plead with the judges to kick her off week after week is like spitting in the wind……………..it's already done! If they read these comments, it's after the fact!
