Caption This: Episode 6
Save the date! This Monday at 9/8c the designers pull off a wedding reception in just 2 days. Cathy and mentor David Bromstad take a break from the planning action…how would you caption this photo from episode six?
This caption looks like HGTV's attempt to clean up Cathy's image. Of all the pictures you could have chosen, WHY THIS ONE?
You put our favorite star and the MOST LIKED of all DS seasons (David B.) arm in arm with the LEAST LIKED DS contestant, Cathy of all seasons (up to date anyway). And you want us to comment on it? Are you serious? This is a joke! TALK ABOUT THE MOST OBVIOUS STAGED PHOTO PICKED EVER!! I think I'm insulted. No thanks.
I agree. How could they ever expect anyone to watch her show? I can't stand to hear her voice…….
RTOTALLY…Cathy is such a bossy witch…if we have to hear one more time how she is a stager?!?!? Really? Not even close to the caliber of the other designers this season.

Yes, sad but true, she is still here…..I guess the design team is lenient this year….seems almost planned out who is going to win sometimes….let's hope not…let the real designers move along and ms. Cathy can go home where she belongs……

I agree. The caption should bee. From the best to the worst! I guarantee if she is on I will never turn HGTV on again. I hope the opinion of the viewers are taken into account. Please admit you made a mistake and bring credibilty back.
I agree, she should have been gone weeks ago. I'm sick of looking at her and if she stays on the show one more week I promise I won't watch again. She has messed up every challenge she has done in one way or another. I don't think she is good on the camera challenge either for that matter. She acts like she is going to teach the others and the judges how it's done … Cathy go on home. I would not watch the Cathy show if it was the only program on TV! Why is she not in this weeks challenge? Why would She be pulled out to do what? Are the judges trying to make us like her? Why?
I have always thought HGTV & Food Network have done a high-class type of reality show. Yet, Cathy is clearly simply there to create tension, I don't get it.
Further, she's the only one that (should she win) I would NEVER watch.

I agree! Cathy is completely disingenuous and an overall nasty lady. I am a huge HGTV fan and watch everyday. Your designers are likable Cathy is not. Her mean sprited personality shows through on every episode! What a completely rude and uncomfortable looking woman to watch she gives me an upset stomach every time I see and listen to her on Design Star. She clearly does FIT ON THE HGTV TEAM! U.S. viewers will not want to watch her ever!!! Unless you name it "BITCHZILLA DESIGN"!!!!!

I totally agree. Cathy may be great with the camera, but haven't the judges noticed that she's unable to get along with anyone she's been paired with?? I would NOT watch her show, knowing how she treats other people. And, other than the massive overdoing of what she called "styling" in the kitchen, while her partner slaved over the tile backsplash, & the poor rendering of seat pillows in the first episode, I can't remember anything memorable about any of her designs. She should have been sent home instead of Tyler, who at least has original ideas ! I WOULD HAVE PROVIDED NEGATIVE INPUT SOONER IF IT HADN'T BEEN SO HARD TO FIND A PLACE WHERE I COULD.
I would LIKE this caption to say, "Cathy, I'm about to hurl you off of this show. Love, David."
This WTCH annot play with anyone so she is sucking up to David. He has more talent and personality than this awful person in his little finger than she soes but she thinks her stuff don't stink. GET HER OFF THE SHOW!!!!
I totally agree. I would not watch a show hosted by Cathy. Let's get her off the show now and I will watch the rest of the Design Star series.
I agree. I don't like Cathy and she should be gone, but if you look at the fan vote, she is #2. We need to vote and get her off that spot. You can vote 10 times a day. I have been voting everyday. Hopefully that will help knock her off that spot, but I need help. All of you that don't like Cathy, please vote.
I could not agree more with you, fanfair. I am very disappointed in HGTV, because it seems they're playing favoritism toward Cathy, due to her television experience. Quite honestly, I find her to be the most difficult person to watch, and she's clearly the most difficult designer for any of the other designers to work with. That should say something! I pray that she gets voted off very soon. I'm thinking about not watching Design Star, because I can't stand seeing her on it.
Total agreement with this statement. She is not a team player and she cannot take responsibility for her bad design pushy decisions.
Cathy is so arrogant! She's telling David B. that she is the best, better than him even. I dislike Cathy and would never watch her on tv. Paleaze! Dislike and disgusted with HGTV!
Totally agree – David B. must want to really throw up. Cathy is a control freak….she is very difficult to work with. Vote Cathy OFF. She is so disgusting. And her eyes look like they will pop – I could not watch a show with her on it – would have to change the channel….ewwww.
Even if her image is cleaned up, the damage is done. I am so tired of hearing her bully everyone, and continually repeat how terrific she is. Cathy, I will never watch a show featuring you because I can no longer listen to the sound of your voice. It is not the voice, it is what comes out of your mouth. Get a clue or get eliminated. Please

Unless HGTV wanted people to react like this and staged the whole thing to make Kathy look bad. I mean I don't like Kathy either but who knows…HGTV may not be showing us the whole story…

tyler was a really good designer with great taste. that was his first slip up and he left.

And it wasnt really that much of a slipup! they shouldve watched the tapes (design panel) and see that he was trying to save a wall! it actually looked pretty neat!! and cathy just spread eggs and bread everywhere, they really should watch the clips. I could do a 1200 times better than Cathy did and imma 14 yr old. XP
So glad so many others agree about Cathy–she seems to have NO creativity, just wants to shop while she assigns actual WORK to the men (or whoever she is paired with). And she has alienated ALL of them. So, she can speak well on camera–she can't DESIGN!

I can totally picture David talking in that manner. Maybe without the exclamation at the end. But I still stand by what I said earlier. HGTV just wants to see their viewers all worked up and I don't like it. =/
I figured even David would not be able to keep the enthusiasm out of his voice for that task — hence the exclamation point. I've tried to stay away from the Cathy brouhaha, and haven't even posted here since two weeks ago in an attempt to avoid it, but this picture was just too much so I had to add a believable caption to it.
Yeah, I hear ya. Good call on staying away. I just want HGTV to improve their way of creating content and programming. I doubt they are reading though.

Cathy has so many votes because some design @itch organization to which she belongs has a link to the voting site and encourages its members to vote 10 times a day. She's trying to rig the vote and settle for an on-line show because she knew her overbearing, "Look-at-Me; I've been published in three . . . three magazines" braggadocio would get her the boot.

"The Cathy Show" (similar to Tabatha's Salon Takeover) She marches into your place of employment, demanding that the boss make the place more hospitable for the employees…I mean, I would definitely watch THAT! It would be hysterical and a good way for her to channel all that CRAZY!

That is so true. She thinks the world of design revolves aroun her. I hope she goes soon! I could not watch a show of hers she looks like a horse when she smiles. All teeth!
I totall agree with Sue! Cathy treats all the other designers like they are inferior to her. No cooperation whatsoever! It is uncomfortable to watch.

The producers have let down the design audience and tried to make this into a silly, personality competition similar to other reality shows. They should build a campfire and start carrying spears to the vote-off episode!

I find it funny that so many people are against Cathy. I do wonder what is this world coming too, no I do not like everything she does however, it is a Design Show ……… who doesn't let there hair down from time to time.Vern and David knows exactly what to do with Miss Cathy. The caption should read, " Cathy you are finally letting us see the real you."

People dont like cathy because she has an attitude every single week. We prefer people that are nicer. Just think about would you want to watch her show?
Your patience is impressive. But she isn't just keeping her hair up, she's bullying the other designers and being a real jerk. She can't work with anybody without a fight breaking out because she thinks she's superior for whatever reason.
Oh please! Her real personality stinks! And, more importantly, she has no sense of design or style. Let her hair down? By that do you mean showing disrespect to all the other designers she has worked with? I can't believe so many fans like her. Cathy distracts from the quality of the show. As far as her camera challenges, I feel like I'm watching the news. That's not what I watch a design show for. She has no appeal.
