I totally agree! Kathy needs to go home. I get sooo mad listening to her go on and on about how much she knows and how great she thinks she is. How can the judges not see that she can't get along with anyone?
We need to vote her off the island/out of the house…. Oh wait this is a creative designer challenge where the judges decide…. I think America needs a vote in this as the judges have there heads stuck up where the sun doesn't shine…Kathy is a bossy, rude, lazy, untalented wanna-be designer. She needs to leave….
The woman is in denial if she thinks she is talented..that kitchen last week?
(farmers market) filled with so much clutter of food..Contemporary? Unbelievable! Her justification on why she was cut is almost hilarious! Good luck to her and those who are unfortunate to work with her. Glad she is gone!

The person with the Least talent should obviously go home, but how can we decide this with the Group Challenges, Duet Challenges???? I want to see more Individual design, no rhetoric or bickering between Designers. We all think differently, we all operate differently so why should we continue to put Designers in a box????

I agree that Cathy should go home – I would never watch a show that she hosts – is bad enough having to watch her every week on the show. And, I would never hire her to do a job for me after the way that she staged the kitchen challenge.
I also agree Cathy needs to off the show. I can't believe they left on after the awful staging she did in the kitchen & the judges actually said it was awful plus she is all about herself-never wants to know what the others are thinking.
Amen! Cathy, or Kathy, or whatever needs to have been gone for awhile now. First of all, watching her camera challenges weirds me out. Too much eyes and gums for TV. Secondly, if this were How to Shop, or How to Create Tension, or How Not to Stage, or I'm a Shopper Not a Designer, she would be great. Get her off this show so we can see the people who can actually design AND implement AND be tv-worthy do their stuff! I'm getting sick of watching this show.
We all agree that Cathy's attitude is bad taste, but she does understand how to design. I believe that she learned a great from the time spent on the show, and hopefully, she will take it with her where ever she goes. Don't be disappointed because she speaks well! Would you rather she speak ghetto because, maybe that's how you believe black people are?
I agree! Cathy has caused trouble for everyone and I don't believe that this week will be any different. She has not shown an ability to work with other designers and spends most of her time attempting to convince others that her skills are the best . Cathy showcased her lack of talent last week when she over-staged the kitchen.
Kathy is stubborn, obnoxious and not very talented. Her designs are boring and ordinary. Send her home ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with you… this is fixed we all know who you (HGTV judges) want and why you keep Cathy around. She is rude, arrogant, smartelic, worse designer than those that you sent home since day one. Her challenge last week was disasterous with all of her trash on the counters but of course you lousy judges liked her work. She even bold faced lied that Karl had not told her. I don't know anyone that could work in that kitchen. Karl's work was exceptional and hers was an F- – - – - – - – - if even that.
I agree with all comments about Cathy. I can barely watch her; she is such a control freak and definitely does not play well with others. I will never watch a show hosted by her.
Who would ever watch a show with Cathy hosting? I'm barely watching Design Star because of her. So, so obnoxious!
I agree if Cathy wins I will not watch her show. I have never seen someone that is not HGTV material as she is.Everyone is so nice and a people person on all other HGTV shows. She is all about her self………
EXACTLY!!! It was obvious since the start that she does not work well with others. Her waving of her own flag is nausiating! I've seen nothing good from her yet. She needs to go home!!
In all my years of interacting with people in the work place, the ones with longivity are those that don't wave their own flags…..and works well with others! Cathy is self-absorbed and is only concerned with how she can promote herself.
YESSSS! Please send Cathy anywhere but on HGTV! If I have to hear one more time about her world travels, her on camera experience or how many times her rooms have been published, I think I will scream! She has no personality and most of all, she does not play well with others. If HGTV allows her to win, I will never watch her show. Whew, I had to get that off my chest. Thanks!:'(
I hope somebody watches the full show, because I would NEVER watch a show that had Cathy in it she is obnoxious and thinks she is more talened then she is probably because she does not know how to get along with others.
Getting really sick of Cathy. She has a large head and I am tired of hearing about her past experience. I am NOT at all impressed with her. Not sure who I would like to win yet but I know it isn't Cathy!

I am so glad Cathy is gone….. If she had spent more time designing and working with the team she might be able to produce a room more tasteful and something we all would love…. She was getting on my last nerve. By Cathy!

It's true that Cathy has not been very communicative with the other designers. I knew before the episode ended that Cathy would be bumped from the show. However, it seems that everytime there are black people in the mix, they seem to get the boot expeditiously. Verne showed a dislike toward Cathy from the beginning, and he never smiled when her name was brought up. Therefore, I agree that the show is definitely fixed, so I will not be watching it anymore. The host knew that Cathy would not continue, and she showed it when the cast came back for a decision.
Since evryone seems to believe that the person who can't work as a team player (Cathy) should be sent home, I believe that the one who whines and is unsure of himself (Karl) should go home as well.
you got that right – my friends and I have been wondering, if we could see her "true Self", why couldn't they??? She needs to be out of there so we can get on with the show – she stinks and I would not watch anything was in. – she is not going to make me feel like she is better than me.

AT LAST….THE judges did the right thing and booted off that awful bully non-designer Cathy. Now, I can watch rest of Design Star w/o getting angry….Good Job, Judges
I think that Cathy needs to go too!!! She has demonstrated a total lack of ability to work WITH others. It seems to me that this skill is very important. A show for Cathy could be called the "It's all about me show.". It would be show I couldn't bear to watch.

I whole heartedly agree that Cathy needs to go home!!!! She is overly bossy, pushy, snobbish, overbearing and thinks she knows it all. And I hate what she thinks she contributes to any of the designs!

She's still here because of the buzz her drama creates. How many of the comments are about designers other than Cathy? My guess is that she won't win, but, she'll stick around a while.

Everyone I talk to about this new series from HGTV agrees that the judges are over looking the conflict between the designers that is very evident in every challenge. It seems there is favortism toward one person who truly is not a designer but a loud mouth do my way or else – which is Cathy. Reading the posts on this website, there seems to be a consenus that Cathy is not a favorite, yet why would the judges be over looking that conflict? Maybe this brings in more viewers who expect drama from this series and she adds the excitement, yet there is no talent just a loud obnoxious person who I would not even consider letting into my home for a renovation.

I agree, indeed if you told her you wanted blue you would end up with orange, because she thinks she knows best, but at the end of the day, personal skills make and break a real designer. I watch HGTV to get good ideas for my home, and I do not think Cathy knows her stuff, she lies, argues with EVERYONE she works with. Its alwasy someone else, never her?? right. I think Karl is amazing I would love to see him work with someone other than Cathy so his ideas would actual come totally to life.
I agree completely, however, I am not as elequent as you; I just hate Cathy! After watching this series, if Cathy wins I would avoid watching anything involving her anywhere!
Very true! I'm glad that they finally got rid of Cathy. Everyone, including us watching, can breathe a fresh breath. She has little talent and was awful for everyone to work with! Hey!!
I love Cathy. She works hard, designs well and doesn't back stab. Watch her as she wins this show.

I agree. I'm too busy trying to figure out what they are going to do next for design when I'm watching the show to pay attention to Cathy's attitude. I get so wrapped up in the design aspect of it. I was rooting for Mark to get that coin tile backsplash up on both sides and Kevin and Meg to choose the right shades on the wall for the colors they chose. I really didn't have time to pay attention to Cathy. She's like a gnat that keeps fluttering around and I'm just trying to shoo it away so I can watch the design process and choices. I want to see DESIGN. I think I'm a bit obsessed design at the moment. LOL
If the HGTV judges are looking for a "star" to host a new series, IT IS NOT CATHY! She does not work well with other designers, has an obnoxious personality, and should be embarrassed to call herself a "stager." In particular, the kitchen that she "designed" was so cluttered, it made me nauseous. I guess she hasn't figured out that good staging should make a person want to sit down in a room and stay, not slam the door and run! I think Vern has is blinded by the fact that Cathy speaks well on camera. Duh . . . she was a television reporter. because of her background, she should have an advantage in that aspect of the competition. Although she is a very attractive woman, that cheesy, fake smile she displays shows way too much of her gums. When most people smile, their teeth show, not their gums. Not a good look. Her big, cheesy smile, showing a tremendous amount of her gums, make her look like a horse. A smaller smile, showing only her teeth, would make her look so much more attractive and genuine. I VOTE TO GIVE CATHY THE BOOT!
By the way, I wonder why Cathy is no longer a television reporter.
She's not anymore. Some crazy person with a few marbles loose in their head told her that they thought she had talent and that's why she started pursuing a design career. She mentioned it a couple of episodes ago I believe. Yes despite bad form, I still pay attention LOL
If Cathy is so global and so fabulous as a reporter and has all these awards what is she doing on this show?????? I wonder if she did any of these things????????
I think we all agree. Cathy is so not talented, but can manage to boss and fight with everyone. I hope they arent keeping her for ratings because she makes me just want to turn her off.
It seems to me that the fake smile is her only natural talent. I am not convinced that she is a successful stager and she certainly isn't a designer. Cathy is not just obnoxious — she is nasty. The fact that she speaks well on camera gives her an unfair advantage in that segment of the show due to her television background. The judges should take this into consideration when comparing the on camera performances. I would also like to know why she is no longer a television reporter. Perhaps her superior attitude and lack of ability to work with people had something to do with it. I think the judges should have figured out by now that Cathy has little or no talent and has been sliding by each week. Her performance in the kitchen last week surely is a wake-up call to the judges. This week should be the last time we see her in the competetion because she has neither the personality nor the ability to host a show.

Is is just me, but shouldn't comments be directed to the designs by the designers…not how a designer smiles.
Wouldn't it be great if the MOST TALENTED DESIGNER actually won and other bias or reasons didn't come into play as it seems like it is now..
What happened to some of the other Degisn Star winners who were not really all that talented but were voted the winner for some reason? What happened to the perky black designer a few years ago who was not really talented but won? I've not seen her show on HGTV in a long time. What happened to the blonde woman who won awhile back? Did she ever get a show?
Well that's not gonna happen now. Since HGTV isn't playing fair but it's a nice thought
The blonde woman, you mean Jennifer from DS3? She had a kid and took some time off. I think she's coming back though. I liked her. She was another artist who designed. The artists seem to do well typically on DS. Tyler was also an artist. Too bad they sent him home 
David B is an artist. They seem to have the most creative designs.

I know these shows were taped earlier this year and they already know the winner. What I want to know is did
they tell the designers at the start that Cathy already is one of 20 designers they have working for HGTV on
a show from Canada??? If not, it was very unfair to the other designers. You can look her up on another web
page from HGTV in Canada……..What did she do to get on here??? Bully a producer like she does all the rest

I am so in agreement that Cathy should go, and after reading all the comments here it sounds like she might be the winner. If that is the case I will just stop watching the show right now. Cathy is completely obnoxious!

Why don't the judges get it or SEE it????????? CATHY!!!!!!!!!! Cathy canNOT GET ALONG WITH HERSELF let alone anybody else!!! She has to do all the EASY jobs during the projects and every finishing touch leaving her poor partner HELPLESS and THEN………………the JUDGES tell the partner they need to work hard and be bold and speak up and get their own ideas in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUDGES?? JUDGES?? JUDGES?? Have you been watched the FULL EPISODES?? There is NOBODY who could work with Cathy!!!! She is MEAN, PUSHY, ABSOLUTELY TERRORIZES THE OTHER CONTESTANTS…..REALLY??? YOU CAN'T SEE THAT???? She should have been voted off after the 3rd show because the only one she couldn't fight with was the white room which she TOTALLY did crap on and THERE ARE NO DO OVERS!!!!!! One chance was bad, two chances just wasn't even fair but now letting her win the camera challenge??? That wasn't even one drop fair…it's just doing her previous job!! Make the show more fun than that!!!! Stop telling everybody to "work well' with that evil thing!!! STOP putting us through watching her every week…..it just breaks your heart for the others and it makes a reality show not all that fun to watch anymore as we really don't get to see some of the Awesome talent on the show because whoever is Cathy's partner is automatically SQUASHED for that episode!!!!

Not that I don't agree with you. But um you are assuming that it's not staged. This is a taped show and Cathy is already on HGTV Canada. And since the producers edited this to air. I'm sure they create the tension on purpose – so we would get all worked up about it. This isn't a real design contest. This is a reality TV show. I thought it was a Design show but they have posted on a few other sites in the media and have officially called this a Reality TV show. So there it is. Sorry to burst your bubble

Really? I would like HGTV input at this time. It is only fair to loyal fans at this point. I've never heard of such negativity as this show is producing. HGTV please speak up.
I also agree, that nasty look that Cathy gives the other designers is unforgivable. I just saw the sneek peek of the next show and of course Cathy thinks shes the best. PLEASE get her off and don't show favoratism. She hasn't been capable of working with anyone of the other designers. Someone let her read these blogs
I agree Cathy must go, she is the kind of person who THINKS she is the best, over confident. She does not work well with others and does not give anyone a chance to voice there opinions. As I keep saying, the only thing worse than Cathy THINKING she knows everything is Cathy THINKING she is better than everyone else! I can't stand watching her and I definitely will not watch her show if she becomes the winner. Does anyone actually read all these comments because they are all negative and they are all about Cathy! At this point I really don't care who wins just as long as it is not Cathy!!! Go home Cathy and give someone else a chance to express their views!
