David on Episode 8: “It Was Like ’80s Granny, Not-So-Chic”
David dishes on the final four’s budget design challenge. Who “ignored him completely” and who was practically “peeing in his pants” backstage at The Nate Berkus Show? Plus, he breaks down the best and worst designs.
What do you think was the biggest disaster of episode 8? Tell us in the comments below.

So, the next challenge is going to be one of the mini houses judging from the homes being in Battery Park. That should be interesting.
Go Karl! You can do it! Can't wait to see what you dream up for next week's challenge.
I don't think any of their designs are very good. Also I am not a fan of Geneveive.
It is really hard to believe that the production staff couldn't find at least a couple half way talented designers to compete on this show. None of these folks deserves a show of their own. If it were up to me I'd have sent them all home when they got off the bus! It reminds me of a beauty contest at a chimpanze farm………..nobody wins!
I found the whole episode really irritating. Non of them really wowed me. What did they do with the $2500.
Pay the painters?
Pahleez…..Meg's room was a bunch of little things scattered everywhere and I didn't know where to look. Way too busy and hated the jail stripes on the walls. I'm a firm believer in less is more and Meg's room needed a lot less. Tacky, tacky, tacky, is all I have to say. I actually liked the look of Kelly's room the best, tho' she could have removed one of the framed art pieces. Mark just got lost at the beginning and didn't bring it to this challenge. Karl's was okay, but just okay. No wow moments yet again. Frankly, wouldn't watch any of these folks.
I miss Kelly!
The bottom two deserved to be there this week, IMO. I could foresee the producers of Mark's show frantically counting down the seconds until taping and him rushing around, like always, though I like what he does with color and creations. I watch the episodes after they've aired at HGTV.com and really wish that HGTV didn't have the episode spoiler right there when you open it up! Maybe have a link that says, "See who went home this week?"
I am not really impressed by any of these design star wannabes. David is my favorite and the only one of the former design stars that I enjoy watching.
I agree with the person who said that there are too many episodes of House Hunters.
I find myself watching the channel less than in the past.
I am so glad I am not the only one fed up with all the episodes (and reruns of reruns) of House Hunters. The network promotes it as the wildly popular series — but that's true only because if someone wants to watch HGTV that show (and its variations known as My First Place and Property Virgins) are all that is on in the evening. And, IMHO, House Hunters International belongs on the Travel Channel. People are watching HGTV for design tips and tricks, NOT to watch other people house hunting. A lot of the houses are dumps; HGTV is supposed to be inspiring.
House Hunters is my favorite, but do NOT like House Hunters International.
