David on Episode 5: “Make a Room. No Walls. Good Luck.”

David on Design Star episode five: Who rocked, whose design bored him, and who failed miserably. Plus: who he thought should have won.
Here’s David’s from-the-set take:
Do you agree with David? Who do you think should have won last night? Shout it out in the comments below.

This season Genevieve almost always looks disapproving & somewhat arrogant. She and Vern tend to be critical more than encouraging, and sometimes they look mad. I know he's a mentor, but David gives helpful feedback. Sabrina Soto was great as a guest judge.
I was very impressed with danielle's room. I think Hilary's would have a better shot at winning if her tip went better.
I am an interior designer and I don't blame Britney for getting upset. She clearly had the best design. It was probably the best I've seen on this show!! I don't know what the judges were looking for-I literally said "eeww" when Danielle's design hit the screen. The colors were horrendous, very dark, and dreary and had a funeral parlor vibe. She did have some good elements in her room but for me, if the colors don't work the room dies.
If I had to choose which room I would lounge in it would clearly be Britney's! The screens were great, the room was well balanced, a great job with the accessories, and the color choice was spot on!! This is the look we're seeing in design magazines today…
I want to scream when I read all these comments about Britany being a sore loser. Think about it. It got you talking right? There. HGTV producers did their job. Now, let’s not be so cruel and focus on their actual work.
Danielle is awesome, brittany was good too but her camera challenge wasnt as good, so danielle did deserve to win. I love design star!!
Mikel is awesome
Chris’s design was an epic fail. He was so good before that. I knew either Brittany or Danielle would win that challenge!
