Sneak Peek: Episode 8
It’s down to the final three…only two episodes left until we find out who the next Design Star will be. On each season of the show, the designers are challenged to decorate a non-traditional structure. This year, it’s…yurts! That’s right — each contestant will take on a modern adaptation of the ancient round shelters used for centuries by Central Asian nomads. Who will succeed and who will fail miserably? I think Hilary is cute, but her designs are not outstanding. I agree with the decision that she go home. I do however feel that Danielle also is lacking in outstanding design. Hopefully, Brittany will win.
Still voting for Bex in hopes that she will get an online show. Brittany's yurt was the best of the three. The rotating bed with storage behind was brilliant ( I'm a former camper and current RVer -every inch counts) the draped ceiling, lighting, furniture, scale, proportion and color palate-all great. Hilary's space planning was poor, and her scale, proportion, rhythm and flow were off but the antique bed was stunning. Danielle's yurt didn't have a finished appearance, painting the tarp an eye-bleeding yellow for a "pop of color" was not thought out very well, furnishings were nice. She may be a good designer but is not doing well under the conditions of the competition and unlike Lynn D above, I would not label the lady a whiner. Try doing what these contestants are doing under the same conditions and see how well you do. Critique their work but please don't attack their character. My husband believed that a fantasy bedroom should have a love seat for upright cuddling and cheered for Brittany because she included one!

I know I wasn’t the only one that saw it. At end of last wk show they showed the preview for the end of final’s show. Vern says and the new design star is, then it switched to the two hugging. It was very obvious that Danielle was giving the congrat type of hug. It was written all over her face that she had lost to Brittany. Since last wk when that promo comes on, that quick little give away hug is not being shown.
