  1. All my votes were for Britany. I'm very disappointed yet again. (Last year I didn't want scratchy voiced Meg to win either.)
I watch very few of the new design star shows now. And I won't be watching Danielle's show either. Her designs were nice but way too expensive for today's economy. You should really keep your audience in mind on this point. Hopefully the judges will realize that not everyone can afford a designer house! How about more winners with realistic costs in mind?

  2. Sorry to see Danielle as the winner only because she has never shwon a total grasp of a roomscape as a whole. She is a great accessorizer, but every one of the room she did on her own was lacking the cohesiveness you must have to make it in the design world. Of the final challenges: the condo – unfinished and even that one did not have enough accessories to say the area came together/ the yurt: nice layering of accessories but the centerpiece bed was oddly proportioned and (hey this is supposed to be a luxury type space) nice bed linens completely lacking/ the final: her work space in the dining room looked thrown against the window like a homeowner who doesn't know any better just had pieces to put somewhere/ the camera shots there were noticeably few and always shot downward to help with that awkwardness, the gallery wall was a mish mash of balance/

  3. Every room Brittney designed was beautiful, well-thought out, and camera ready / her design sense always seemed pretty impeccable. She is a successful designer on her own and it certainly showed.
As a designer myself, I am always more interested in seeing beautiful rooms and seeing the design elements used to acheive those looks (like the rooms designed by Candice) than watching the cheesy "joking around" and gambits used. Perhaps the producers didn't feel Brittney could be cheesy.

I really feel that the producers were looking for a specific type of person /the camera face time for Danielle completely outweighed anyone else it seemed more a show of "Danielle's Journey to Design Star" / sell the audience. That being said she will be representing another minority so perhaps that is a good thing

  4. Yes, both Brittney and her designs are beautiful and glamorous. I love beautiful homes, too. However, we have much of that with Candice (my favorite), Dina, and the other show they had from Dallas with the mother and daughter team.

Danielle's concept for her show is more well rounded to suit a variety of styles and tastes. Therefore drawing interest from a lot more people. She incorporated the client's needs, wants, tastes, style, and pieces into her design. She even used pictures (the clients) not her own in the design. Brittney's show concept was called "Picture Perfect" because she wanted to incorporate her own pictures, which to me was just an element in the room design, not enough to carry a whole show for long. Danielle will reach a broader audience. Glam is only one style there are so many others. Just as there are ethic groups. It is refreshing to see representation by all types personalities, ethnicity and/or gender too.
