The Design Star season might be winding down, but we’re just gearing up for the very first season of Design Star All Stars. Here’s a sneak peek to tide you over until  Tuesday, July 31 at 9/8c.

  1. I am too thrilled that HGTV DS is doing an All Star Challenge!!! Just a week or so ago I made the comment that this idea would be stellar!!! The only setback is that there are so few competitors, which means it's going to be pretty short competition!!!
    I am also excited that Dan Vickery is one of the challengers!!! I really wanted Dan or Loni to win during their season. So, I am definitely rooting for him this time!!! Hip hip Hooray!!!

    • I was for Dan originally and I'm totally for him now that he's back.( what a joke , him losing to the antonio project. What a disjointed train wreck that show turned out to be.) Dan Vickery designs the most stylish, tasteful and classy rooms. I think his designs can't be learned. He just instinctively creates from an organic place which you have to be born with. Good luck, Dan, I'm rooting for you all the way! You go,guy!!

    • I hope this comment gets read. I also was cheering for Dan Vickery. They don't seem to realize that sometimes, the camera is good to a participant. His personality comes off as sleek and masculine at the same time. Too bad he doesn't have a full-time show, because the talent is there. Just that the producer-eye that would afford him a spot is missing. People don't have to be 'clowns' or 'show-off' cute and loud to teach us on television. he has the subtle grace and dynamic looks that could make your network some money. Can't you see that? I'm a bad looser, so like the last time you had him on the show, I quit watching now. I don't care who you choose from here on out. I have favorite shows like Property Brothers and Love it/List it, but I'm 'done' with Design Star. Haven't watched since the last Vickery loss and won't be watching again. How can you miss that appeal to mass audiences. And no….I don't know him, am not 'kin' to him, and am not a young lady looking for 'the right guy.' Just aware that appeal and talent mixed is a good show. He has both. You can't see it? You need help. Hope his career takes off, but I sure wish it was on TV where it could be enjoyed by a wide audience, because he would have that.

  2. Actually, this is our second look at these design non-stars, who lost their contests. Most people like them for their personalities, rather than their designs, which were poor to amateurish. That includes Dan, who I had expected more of, but he never seemed to complete a space, nor could he see a space as a cohesive whole. I remember he did work on a Zen garden, with one of the female contestants, that Antonio destroyed! Sure Dan was/is better than Antonio,and Dan should've won, but the homeless lunatic that plagues my neighborhood, usually mumbling to himself or vociferously arguing with garbage cans, can design better than Antonio. Being better than Antonio doesn't say much at all.

    I think I might have watched this show, if the contestants included Alice, Will, Matt and Karl. This bunch, not so much. If I want to catch up on my sleep, then I'll take Melatonin.

  10. Danielle's rooms were so packed with everything……so many pictures on the walls. ……………….way too much.

    Britany's rooms were so tastefully done and her camera work was great………………..WHAT WERE YOU THINKING……………………………………………..

    Since you HAD to give it to Danielle please give Britany a show too……SHE DESERVES IT……………

    • I totally agree. Danielle didn't have to use ALL of their pictures! Way too busy. I liked Danielle, but Brittany's designs were always spot on.
