And the Design Star Fan Favorite Is…
You cast almost a million votes this season in the Design Star fan vote to help one contestant win their own show on HGTV.com. Voting is now closed, and you’ve chosen the winner: Season seven runner-up and Hollywood regency devotee Britany Simon! From her graphic wall in episode one to her glamorous, modern homeowner makeover in the finale, she wowed all season long.
Yuki, Danielle and Bex had their share of fans, but the votes weren’t enough to topple Britany’s lead:

I'm so glad Britany won. Did they tell the judges before the finale that she was the fan favorite? Because it's kind of important for the design star winner to have people willing to watch her show…isn't it?
Britany – just bought a condo in Naples, FL that needs HELP!! The view is great but inside the ceilings are low and kitchen is a real CHALLENGE!! I am on such a tight budget because of things that occurred at the last minute and things that didn't get done that the seller was supposed to do prior to closing. The entire experience was awful and I need help! This is to be my retirement home and I would love for it to have your style! Please Help!

LOL at all the haters. yes, Britany had better overall designs, but Danielle was no slouch. and she did a great job in the pilot. she had a very difficult task with such a quirky/artsy couple and did a great job of incorporating their style with the makeover. Plus she kept a lot of their existing things.
Britany's design was very good as well, but really straightforward and not very challenging.
the bottom line is how you present on camera. Danielle was entertaining (in the pilot) and Britany was boring. Competent, but not engaging.

Joe- Danielle was an excuse maker and a cry-baby. Did you think Britany was boring because she was confident? Danielle could have done a "Beetle-Juice" design and her family would have been happy. Britany's family seemed to be more conservative and mainstream. If she had gone too crazy, they would have "ripped her a new one" (as the kids are saying these days). Genevieve could take a lesson about designing for the client. There are a lot of designers who shove their ideas down the client's throat…and if they argue…well "the client just doesn't know anything about design." That's when many of the TV designers start their "verbal diarrhea." Sometimes it's pretty hard to take. They have no qualms about pushing weird produces or crazy design choices, because they don't have to live in it. Sometimes I think they probably laugh and say, "Did we really just do that to them!" Anyway, that's my thoughts on the subject.
Not hating, a majority of people think the judges were clueless as to what America wanted. What America doesn't want is to hear Fran Drescher's nasally, bad voiced sounding partner Danielle hosting a show. Who wants to hear that voice over and over?
Why can't everybody just be happy for the people who win? Why does everybody feel the need to pick a favorite and then diss everybody else? Am I the only one watching these shows because I love design? Celebrate and be happy for the winner; they are all great designers, and if they were not great designers, then they wouldn't be on design star, would they?:)
SO HAPPY. Brit deserve this . She was my fav after Danielle but yuki was a joke n deserved to get kicked off. But I guess she has a lot if friends cause how she got second I don’t know.
Thank god Leslie is back! I hope she wins it. Lets hope that Hilary doesn't win! I can't stand her voice!

Why is everybody so hard on the judges!!!!! Daniel deserved to win! Brittany is still amazing and she will have so many thing coming to her so we don't have to worry about her! Just wait in a few months we will see brittany on tv. I Cant stand hillary!!!! ARRRGGG!!!!!
I thought from the very beginning that Danielle should be the new tv show host/designer. She had her challenges like everyone but rose above them. Don't know why you complain about her voice – no problem here. Danielle's designs and aesthetic are more innovative and interesting. However they are both talented! This season definitely had more contestants qualified to be there. Hope you continue to get folks who really deserve to be sharing their insights and creativity with us! That's why we watch – not for drama!
