David On All Stars Ep 3: “Listen, I Warned Them…”
David chats about why Hilari and Dan should have heeded his advice about the “slime green” wall color, and why Leslie and Tom’s set was made for TV.

Really? The green was a bit too intense for me, but it was for kids. Modern kids are into bolder colors: it was far more youthful and on trend than the other room. The judges just don’t like Dan, which is just jealousy. He could kick their butts in design any day and they fear his perspective. What a bunch of dinosaurs!
I totally agree 100%. The judges know that Dan could kick their butt in a design challenge and they did not like him because of it. Tom and Leslie are not as good as the judges think they are. Hilary is better, but no were near as good as Dan.
HILARY IS VERY RELAXED, PATIENT, BUBBLY, AND KIND.She listens very well and she is not driving the other designers crazy. I really hope she wins.
She certainly should win over the other two now that Dan is gone. He should join the hunks on Wednesday night!

I guess my opinion is a little different from the others here. Actually I think both teams missed the mark on the update. Dan and Hilari made the space too childlike for an upscale boarding school. It looked like a bad Disney Channel set. There were too many colors and the look seemed inconsistent. Also, no one has mentioned, but isn't the "blue wall" that they use on television for "fake scene" actually done on a green background like Dan's wall? Putting white panels in to make it look like windows made it look even worse. It was such a bad choice on so many levels. It was a bad misstep and I was sorry to see Dan leave.
On the other hand, Tom and Leslie's room seemed a bit old for teenagers. I actually liked the look but I am not a teen. The wallpaper did not read well on my tv. It didn't seem bright and fresh. Tom does seem stiff in his camera challenges but I think with coaching he could learn to relax. I think we forget how rough David's original appearances were. I think that's why he had a lovely assistant named Danielle. Look how far David has come in his on camera skills. I personally like Tom's style, it reminds me a bit of Candice Olsen's. I know most say he overaccesssorizes but so do most of the "named" designers on HGTV. I think any one of these four could do a fine show.

i'm so upset with the judges choice to keep Tom over Dan. Dan was so much for on with his designs then Tom ever was. Plus Tom doesn't come across well on the camera–EVER. Y'all made a big mistake in letting Dan go–again
There must be some manipulation by HGTV as to whom they want to win Design Star. Dan is the best designer they have ever had on the show and should have not only won his season but definitely the 'All Stars'. I do not see consistency with the judging and booting Dan for a green wall while keeping Tom in the running with all that ridiculous over accessorizing baffles me. Hmmm, I remember pepto bismol pink birds were fabulous for Antonio. Of all past design stars I watch 2: David and Meg. The rest bore me to tears. I would watch Dan chew gum and the fact that he is an imaginitive, talented designer is icing on the cake.
I agree; I see alot of inconsistencies between the seasons/designers and it seems that those pink geese sealed the deal for Antonio, while the green wall sent Dan packing. Tom had so much stuff in there I was tired trying to look at all of it. and what did any of it have to do with teenage girls living in a boardinghouse? There's nowhere to put their stuff, no mirrors to look at themselves in, just clutter e v e r y w h e r e. I love David's show; have only seen one of Meg's, always get great ideas from Emily, and haven't seen Danielle's show yet. And wouldn't it be fun to see the Dan from Emily's season with the Dan from all*stars do a show together??? You can only imagine what fabulous creations they'd come up with if the two Dan's combined forces!!!
I like Emily''s rooms also when she is finished. Sometimes as she is picking the stuff out it seems like it wont all go together well but when she puts it all together ..its like…Voila! Really nice!
I never watched Meg. Never will. Something about her annoyed me. I dont need to trash her looks nor weight issue…her design style is so off…but maybe she appeals to others. To each his own.
I remember those pink birds for Antonio. Vern loved them. Why, I'll never know. I thought they were awful and they only belonged in the garbage. That is certainly where I would have put them. I do think HGTV must have it in for Dan only because they know he is a great designer.
Dan was my favorite too! Who is the host of "Color Splash" and uses some of the most extreme color choices? I liked that room much better than the other that faded away. How many young hip girls are going to like that old fashion room. Uuk! It is time for some new blood as judges. I really don't like the taste of the designers that are the judges so why would I like their choice of the design star.
So very sorry to see Dan go!!! I would love to see him with his own show–he designs such unique pieces–would be great to see more of him and his designs! Both Leslie and Tom get on my nerves! Way too hyper to watch! I like Hilari but don't feel she is on par with Dan!
