  1. I have to say I disagree with Leslie winning tonight, I really like Hilari better. I hope Hilari gets a show or an online show, she’s so much more fun to watch. And on DS I hope Britany gets something too. She had great design ideas sometimes.

  2. I have to say, I am very disappointed in your choice tonight! As I was on the last “Design Star” when Hilari did not win the Bagoda challenge. Perhaps you did not understand the concept of the Bed, that has many meanings in Asia and how difficult a challange it was just to put the bed together. Had she put things next to it in the spaces it would have taken away from that georgous bed. In that last challenge show I do agree with the final decision and love her new show and that she won over the person she was up against who I felt should have been out of compition early than that. But this final finale of designers shooked me again about Hilari! I thought the person that one this last one was the worst of all three, it had so much crap in it you could not even see a design. I am not a person of color, but even last season I was surprised to see her win because she wasn’t a white blond. I must ask if Hilari’s skin color had anything to do with her loss. I can think of two shows on HGTV that have a African American host and one of those is DYI. I really think this needs to be discussed. It may or may not be a issue. I just hope Hilari knows she has alot of fans an is a awesome designer. I would be honored to have her do anything of mine.

    • Couldn't agree with you more…. This smells of discrimination!

  3. Was there ever any doubt about who would win? I guessed correctly from the very first episode. Does anyone remember Genieve from Trading spaces? She was one of the worst designers on the show. Her homeowners were hardly ever satisfied with her designs. Who is she to judge? Where is Candice? She is by far the best designer ever.

    • YOU HAVE EXPRESSED MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY ABOUT GENEVIEVE. I NEVER LIKED HER DESIGNS( IF YOU COULD CALL THEM DESIGNS). I THINK SHE IS SO FAKE ABOUT HER PERSONALITY. I CERTAINLY HOPE HGTV READS AND REFLECTS ON OUR OPINIONS!!

  4. Let me be the first to say, another mistake. Leslie's space was the least in class or style. All she had was the Murphy's bed. Her room looked cluttered and tight. I would totally sit in Hilari's or Ted's room. This is more proof postive to me that they pick ahead of time who they want and just pull them through. They did the same with Danielle. Sorry Hilari and Ted. I think Genevie runs it all, and she needs to go. If it is not her taste she wil never go by others design taste. This was a bad Design Star season. So sorry to the other designers.

    • Totally agree, Genevie appears really evil! Not watching this crap anymore.

    • I agree that this has gone to Genevieve's head! They need to get Doug and let him be a judge with Vern and the guest judge. I liked Dan but they let him go because of color? Does this mean that David is going to change his show to NonColor Splash??. Then when Gene said she didn't like Hilari's color I knew right then; even though she had a better space plan inside and a well thought out outdoor space that she wasn't going to win. But where is Vern's, Carter's & David's votes??? They could of out voted her. Tom's room was very sophisticated but I didn't like his outdoor space. Leslie's room was chaos. HGTV go get Doug to judge DS.

  5. Another blonde HGTV? Really??? I think your network is very afraid of color!!!! Pun intended!

  6. regardless of the politics of this show, Hilari should have been the winner of Design Star All Star. For whatever reason she didn't win…my heart goes out to her and I believe that she truly deserved to win. She will be successful in whatever she does……that talent she possess will not go to waste. I will continue to follow her in hopes to obtain new ideas for design, because that girl has got it!

  7. I think everyone should calm down about Hilari not winning. I LOVE Tom's designs and he would be invited to design anything for me. He took a shipping container and turned it into a million dollar look!! Just Amazing!! How could he have not won? He is a superb designer. Even Vern called his work superb and his personal artwork was especially mentioned. I honestly thought Hilary was going to win, not because her design was best but because she did venture out of her comfort zone. So, kudos to her for trying something new. I think Hilary will go on to be a good designer, just not on TV. I found her personality too self-aggrandizing and arrogant (not confident, just arrogant.) Leslie could get the award for "most improved" but I personally did not like her design at all. Then again, since my taste goes toward what Tom represents, I would not like all that nautical clutter that Leslie put in her space. She did certainly put forth a lot of effort. Hilary was the only one who really addressed the exterior space. She deserves a lot of credit for her innovative outdoor design. Loved it. Not so fond of the interior except for the brilliant shelving unit she used as a room divider and the framing on the window which was never mentioned. During the Design Star season, I think Hilary was a bit overlooked and in this follow-up show as well. Still I strongly favor Tom's design sensibilities. So much class, so much symmetry, so much sophistication and well thought out design. Oh, well. I wish MUCH success to Leslie. She deserves support.

  8. I believe if Genevieve Gorder would be replaced on the judges panel, well that would be a good thing! She from the start, has her mind set and a star chosen. I, also believe if she was not on tonights panel of judges, Leslie E. would not have won. Her design of her shipping container was so flat in design, that Hilari Y. or Tom V. had her from at start and finish, they both out did her by design and function. I won't be watching her show on HGTV!!!!!! The show desginstar needs to change up the judges!! To Leslie E. I just don't believe you will be happy and willing to work with others, your staf and the home owners, you are a constant hands on redoing what ever has been done by another, that a really bad thing. no points to the judges for that !!!!!!!!!!!

    • Leslie did not win a show, she won a guest spot on some show and $25,00. I do agree that Gen needs to be replaced, she seems to bring a certain bias to her judging.

  9. Really? Again Hilari was robbed! Leslie was really the weakest of the three designers. hilaris design was very cool and i loved the bedroom area with the room divider and the window coveribgs! Loved tom's design as well very sophisticated . I loved his line drawings and think he should start a company featuring them i would love to havevone customized to hang in my home Leslie improved a lot since her last season but this was not about most improved. I thought I was the only one who thought Genevieve clearly favored Leslie but judging from the previous comments I was not alone in this sentiment. Someone clearly doesn't like Hilari at hgtv but it sure isn't the viewers. She has been in both series and has been the favorite!

  10. I love HGTV and Design Star but I don’t understand how Leslie won when the two other spaces were clearly superior. I thought Hilari would win, especially with her design of the outside deck. I could even grudgingly tolerate a win by Tom, but Leslie??? Yip & Co got some ‘splaining to do. HGTV needs to retool the Design Star brand.
