Where is He Now? Matt Locke
Last year, we left Matt Locke standing on the finale stage next to winner Jennifer Bertrand. He may not have won the title of Design Star, but that doesn’t mean he’s stopped designing.
After Design Star, Matt headed over to HGTV Showdown, where he and season two winner Kim Myles teamed up and beat fellow Design Star contestants, Jennifer Bertrand and Todd Davis.
The designers take a second to pose with the homeowners, Matthew and Katie Bodell.
Matt and his partner, Heith, also headed out on the cruise he won from making it to the top two of Design Star. They traveled to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Cozumel and the Bahamas.
In Cozumel, the pair took a scooter trip around the island.

I totally agree! He was every bit as good as good as Jen, but they have very different design perspectives. I would watch both of their shows.
I thought he would win, not everyone is into free hand painting on their walls! Are they giving Jen a preschool show? I thought Matt did adult design and I hope he continues good work on his own.

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned what happened to Jennifer Bertrand, winner of last season’s Design Star? We saw that she was pregnant, but what’s the mystery of not giving her her own show? If she failed some how, why didn’t you give the new show to Matt, he definitely deserved it. I just think it’s really odd you mention all the other past winners and never talk about her.
I just read that her own show will start in September, just after the end of this year's contest. Actually, she could be a double for this year's Jennifer and I thought SHE WAS COMPETING AGAIN…I don't know wny I thought that, but she'd just gone off the radar.
I'm with you. I keep watching and waiting for Jennifer's show. I loved her designs and especially her bubbly personality. She really enjoyed what she was doing. We only saw her 1 night in more than a year, but we still did not see her with her own show. Where is she? Why does she not have her own show? Joan
I watched her show a year ago and thought it was great. I watched her newest show about a week or so ago and was not impressed… I don't know if she was the best choice, as nice as she is. I like a little bit more edge to designers, personally. Plus, rather than doing her graphics (which are outstanding), she did solid color walls with subtle glazing that cannot be picked up on TV. It was a sad return to the limelight. Either she has bad producers or maybe she's not the TV personality we thought she would be… Just not sure yet..

Where is Jennifer Bertrand’s new show? I have been waiting to see her show, let’s get with it HGTV and get her on TV.
i hope he gets his own show and jens new show will be on after the first 2009 show of design star like every other year but i will agree it does seem like it has been a long time but it has been the same amount of time as it was every other year
I love David, he is awesome and a very good show host. He can paint me a picture anytime. Aside from Candice Olson, he is the very best designer on t.v. It would only be a dream to have him make over my house.
I agree with you Donna. I'd love to have either Candice or David do my whole house. I've never seen anything that they have designed that I didn't like. They are so very talented.
David is awesome. What a talent!! I love his designs but he could skip the room and just do a painting for me…
Matt was the best. His designs were wonderful and he has such a terrific personality. I’d love to see him have his own show. He could give David a run for his money (and I LOVE David’s work-wish he were in the northern VA area!).
