Lonni should have been gone since the white room incompletion, she seems to not be very hands on in her designs and that makes for a slothful design delagator. She even admitted this herself, and Design Star is about COMPETING so that might involve….. I dont know some "time sensative labor" maybe? Again, the judges made a HUGE, HUGE MISTAKE in picking Antonio over Dan – what a joke!!! This week Dan's design makeover was so much better then Antonios. Dan is a warm, compassionate and very talented designer. Design Star you've now made 2 mistakes in picking the next "Design Star" (season 3 contestant never amounted to anything and now Antonio, what a big disappointment). I, for 1, will not be watching him.

I am so totally disappointed that Antonio won. He is crude and offensive and does not work well within a
team. His final design was nothing special at all and even Vern said the tables and rugs were too small
and did not match the scale of the other furniture. Dan was rewarded the week before even though he
lied about why he overspent on the pergola and then he put the blame on Torrie. The final two should have been Torrie and Lonni with Lonni being the winner. The headboard not getting hung was not her
fault. The installers were supposed to have it ready to hang and they didn't. Tiffany Thiesen and her husband loved the room and were ready to hire Lonni for another room. And so what if she does a major focal wall each time. They were each very different and appropriate for the space. Last year's winner, Jennifer always painted a mural wall which I also loved. Lonni also had the best hosting skills.
All three judges are favorite designers of mine and I watch their shows faithfully. I can only think that the choice of Antonio was not really theirs but the producer's or management.

We used to watch this show and enjoy it. We and our friends will never watch it again. I don't know what is going on at HGTV, but Antonio was truly and obviously overshadowed by both Loni and Dan. His demeanor and personality comes across as curt and shallow, even sneaky and his designs look like they came from a hardware store. If HGTV thinks this is the trend of the future, they have missed the pulse of the market for whatever reason. Now this also applies to the judges who should have known better than to do what they did but they did and their ratings will be affected in a similar matter as they have now lost creditability too.

I wonder if Vern will be sued by HGTV for breach of contract. It seems he did all but use the name of tonight's winner during this interview. If Antonio does win, it is clear that Vern revealed this fact to everyone during a July 14th interview.

I think the show needs new judges. Genevieve couldn't design a paper bag; she's one of the worst on the air. I still remember on Trading Spaces when she covered one wall of a master bedroom in live moss! Candice is okay. Vern has lost all sense if he thinks it's unimportant for a designer to ignore the client's wishes! Antonio is the most arrogant, obnoxious contestant ever. He looks like he belongs with a band of Hell's Angels, and he has just about as much design sense. He's a real loser!!!

I agree that Lonni does lovely rooms, but they seem to be in the same tradition as a Candice Olsen. My guess is HGTV is looking for a fresh take on design, a little more imagination, and yes, because this is TV, someone who can live with a schedule. So I enjoy Design Star as a search for something new in designing. However…. I don’t see that something new in Antonio, other than his personality. The office was a complete disappointment, and even one of the judges indicated it lacked anything special and the furniture grouping was poorly sized (and you picked him as the winner because….?). His theme was modern zen, so where was the “zen”? No water features, no comfort/relaxing features, didn’t even make use of the fireplace in the room. For a room that large, why isn’t there a small conference table for the group to sit together and brainstorm? So for me, not even the most functional office. I thought Nathan (eliminated earlier) brought more new ideas to design than Antonio does, from his graphics in the first show to his unusual and effective use of milk in the white room show. And, yes, Lonni’s room certainly out-shined this basic office presentation and she should have stayed over Antonio. (PS, on the headboard issue, if hired, Lonni would get to work with an elite team of HGTV carpenters and contractors, and this would have been completed on time).

As for Dan, I like his engaging personality (giggling and all) and he has shown far more versatility as a designer than Antonio, so his choice as a finalist is well deserved.

One of the other HGTV personalities, David, said he would have loved a final showdown with all three, Lonni included. My choice for a great showdown: Lonni, Dan and Nathan. Three very talented people with a completely different perspective on design. And while I am disappointed in the recent selection of Antonio over Lonni, I will continue to watch HGTV because I find Lisa LaPort, Taniya Nayak, Sabrina Soto, John Gidding and Candice amazing. Not only do they provide a positive respit from my daily routine (healthcare), but, I used their ideas when selling my home and, for less than a $1000 investment, I landed a sale which was $12,000 more than the highest sale amount quoted by 4 different real estate agents who wanted my listing. So I appreciate that HGTV takes the time to look for real talent and different perspectives in its designers (while I root for Dan tonight)!

To much time spent on Clive and Judges intro etc. We the public , hardly see the end product or design!!! Lonni's room was best, despite the headboard issue. What has happened to her was out of her control. I can't say the same thing about Dan. Antonio's honesty is truly refreshing. I'd tune in to see him because of him, and his reflections about working on the movies. Dan has talent, but the judges were way too generous about his room. It was too crowded. I disliked the drapes and there were too many boats, pillows and paintings. The whales were just bad. He was filling space instead of designing it. It was time for Dan to go home. He doesn't listen well. The idea of making the choice between 2 guys was too tempting for the judges, no doubt.

I am so pleased from all the postings to see that America noticed how RIGGED this show has been. I knew from the first show that Antonio was going to win from the way the video footage had been edited. Please, how obvious can you be, it's Scripps networks attempt at putting a "Guy Fieri" from Food network on HGTV. How sad that you chose to do it this way instead of just giving him the show that you already knew you were going to produce. It's ruined a show that I loved and unless some changes are made, like letting America chose who they want to bring into their homes, I doubt I'll watch next season. I love all the judges and feel that they were pawns in the networks misguided plans. I will make no comments on the talent of the final designers other than I did feel that Lonni had the best design by far and so easy to watch. Wow, so sad because of the way this season was handled, what an insult to the talented designers that you put together for this season!! I'd hope the person(s) who talked HGTV into this mess has his or her how cancelled!!!

Looking at the pictures Lony's room is the best. Dan does not know anything about designing a baby's room. The boat things hanging from the ceiling had no color and the mirror was not safe. He should have been the one to go….many shows back. I think Antonio should be the one to go all the way, he has personalily and would make for a fun different show.

Antonio's office space was created for Kathy Griffin, not the judges home, not the judges client's home, so your point is….pointless. Kathy Griffin's home is very modern and stark and completely devoid of clutter or grass wallpaper or soft fabrics – absolute opposite style of Dan's room and Lonni's room. What Antonio did worked for that house, for the task at hand…and that's what mattered. So get over it. SERIOUSLY.

it doesn't have those strip, fuorescent lights that were on Lonnie's guest bedroom ceiling. !!!!
I didn't see what was "contemporary, with light walls, splashes of color" (what the client asked for)
Every one of Lonnie's famous accent walls were blue. The sports themed one reminded me of little white houses in a row…. could those bases have been turned and still be considered to be a base shape ?
But Lonnie is out and I don't know why we are still talking about her.

Inspired by Antonio's office, I am in the process of "renovating" my office.
I've removed the carpet and found the concrete floor
I already have a huge old school house map…..
I've never done anything like this (I'm in the process of removing all the carpet strips nailed around the edge) I'm inspired. Thanks Antonio.

I will not watch Antonio if he does have a show. I can’t understand Candice pulling for him other than he works as a set designer. He does not have a style. I would love to see Dan win and also would have liked Lonni. I do wish they would get some new ideas, just not Antonio.

I am also getting weary of house hunting, intervention and real estate ladies. I love to see design shows. I do love Candice’s style and that would be what I would have if only I could afford it. Do you suppose the producers read these or pay any attention to what viewers want?
