  1. Remember your 3 R's everyone?

Antonio's…too funny. He said that his fave colors was black, neon green, and pink. Guess he wasn't pulling our collective leg.

Dan's…makes me miss living in Oregon during the fall.

  2. I like both! Antonio's is really fun and makes a statement. Love the neon green footprint.

Dan's is pretty – love the colors on that tree.

    What a great cause too.

  3. Neither of these t-shirts look any thing like representations of either of the guy's design work.

    • They're not supposed to be a reflection of the , though. It's supposed to be their concept of eco-friendly art/design coupled with their 'ideal' or 'personality'.

I have no problem seeing Antonio in that black shirt, or Dan in the one he designed either.

      • And you actually think that the Antonio and Dan designed these t-shirts. No Way!

        • You're certainly free to doubt HGTVs public statement to the contrary, that the two finalists did indeed design these shirts.

All we need do is wait to see if either men comment on it in their post-finaly interviews, to either confirm or deny.

For my part, I'd say that they did design the shirts. Every year we've seen contestants win the right to do certain things. This year has been different from the other three in that respect and perhaps this was the 'door prize' as it were.

  4. I think the caption for Antonio's would be great as:
Does this go with this outfit?

He's such a manly man type!

  5. One "bold" one "beige"
Easy to guess who made which
Antonio posted that he used foot prints of his Converse shoe and his dog added the paw print !
    …. good idea :)

    • Sweet, that then confirms that both Antonio and Dan did, in fact, design each eco-friendly shirt, as at least one person had questioned the veracity of HGTVs statement.

Where's the post, could you provide a link, please?

I wouldn't say "bold" and "beige"…it's more like "rock-n-roll" and "country-western". Each have various appeals, some people like either or, but I've an eclectic taste and actually like both.

      • Saw it on Antonio's facebook
        Chewie is his dog

        Antonio Ballatore: yooooooo check it!

  7. DAN VICKERY, I am SO disappointed that I will not be able to make the party in your honor at Kells Irish Restaurant and Pub in Portland on Sunday, 13 Sept. Reports are that this exciting event will start at 6 pm, with viewing of the Design Star Challenge to follow.

I've been on travels from home far too much lately, and have tons of work to catch up with, so no chance I can move my schedule around and set aside standing commitments at this late date—but I'm sure you know that you are wished every future success—not just from me, but countless loyal Dan fans.

It's an extraordinary opportunity for you to jump-start your design career, and to open so many other new doors as well. Well deserved I don't need to add.

And to Dan fans everywhere, keep those cards and letters, positive blog comments, and Design Star FAN FAVE VOTES coming in, especially now in these remaining few days!

    Here's to a GREAT Sunday—Cheers!

  8. i'm sick of DS finale's commercial this week! Why keep harping on how Lonni got eliminated? Because HGTV has to make up for all the booooing for getting rid of Lonni! In the past weeks, the commercial for the upcoming week is about the sneak preview not about what happened the prior week! It's soooo obvious HGTV is trying to justify Lonni's elimination! I'm interested in what's going to happen at the finale not why Lonni got eliminated over and over..obviously we already saw!

    • spin control. they need to convince the public it was the right thing to do by eliminating her. they also deleted so many of the comments in her favor. I guess the outcry has them embarrassed. as it should. this whole show is a sham!

      • I didn't think so before, but now you've convinced me especially with all the -VE votes on our posts.!

  9. From Dan’s VHS art teacher: damn right he designed that shirt! He has been drawing since he could hold a pencil. Designers are ARTISTS… I thought we all knew that!

  10. Iam so happy that Antonio won! He brings a great energy to the camera and seems so comfortable in his own skin. Loved the living room in the final challenge and how nice he went beyond the basics to improve the master bedroom/bathroom situation. It will be exciting to see what he can do with his own show. I can hardly wait.
