Yay!!! I look forward to it!!!
I am sooo energized by Antonio and his design sceme. He totally makes design decisions for all tastes. His own personal design plan for his pad is Totally Incredible! My kids and I stayed up to watch the finale and have been eagerly anticipating tonights Premier!! We were totally stoked!! While I love ecletic and modern I also love to have some trditional elements in my home as well. America can see that Antonio is REAL and the rest of the home can blend when he does a makeover for us. I need Antonio to come to do a Project for me in our bedroom!! Come to Fla ANTONIO . We have nice bikes, hot ladies, great families, beaches close by, not to mention the food is all Italian!!!
Sure, if by ALL TASTES you mean cheap and trashy.
I've never been so turned off in my life.
Well, the premier showed what we all know – Antonio is big on renovation – zero on taste. I lost track of how many lewd comments he made about his bedroom – but I'm telling you this… no way I would EVER have a part in any "action" beneath a headboard that is the guy's fantasy girl. NO lady I know would put up with that.
No taste, no design – no couch!!! He didn't even have enough seats for his guests. And if he says pink duck one more time….
That's fine, HGTV if you wanted someone to get a new viewer pool. Your old one is not going to stick around for this.
Just couldn't watch the making of a tatoo (inspired?) head board. I wouldn't want in my home. Gone back to design magazines for inspiration. I have been without any HGTV all week (don't think I can look at those judges and their shows with any respect anymore – they sold out ) and I watched it about 2hours/day in the past. Are there enough people watching Antonio to make sponsors stay with this? Maybe, but not the majority of past HGTV viewers.
I am the owner of a totally new service for contractors and homeowners. What we do is provide temporary wireless cameras, sensors and controls installed on the jobsite which allows the contractor and customer to view live video, be alerted of water, heat and control devices during the construction process all from your cell phone or PC anywhere, anytime.
With the technology of phones and cameras advancing everyday I believe this will be the future of construction Check out http://www.eyesonz.com
That is an ill advised thing to do, considering the furor of outraged Dan fans. Though it shall be quite entertaining to see. How many comments will be deleted, stifled, ignored.
*rubs hands together gleefully*
I shall get myself some popcorn and sit back to enjoy the carnage.
Bleck, the words you write are of a very evil nature. Words such as: "Carnage" and "cut-throat" all pertain to MURDER. Is it ok for me and others to assume you are fascinated, and/or preoccupied with the idea? Forgive me if I am reading into this more than what you intended. But most people would agree, the sentence above which reads: *rubs hands together gleefully* and the word "enjoy" in the last sentence, does imply it would be pleasurable for you.
Just for the record, are you or are you not, a "Dan Fan"?????????
VaNessaK, embalming is something that I do for a living. Have you ever seen a trocar and do you know what one does with it in my profession? Shall I go into the long drawn out process of preparing a body for a viewing? Did you know that it is illegal to swear in the presence of a body, one of the odd laws out there, and so we must use different descriptors and be compassionate with what we physically handle and emotionally deal with.
Please, I assure you, there's nothing to fear in mere words. Odd, that reaction, very odd. So, by your reasoning I may assume that Antonio is inherently evil and capable of committing immorally depraved behavior simply by the words he himself has given to us in his Bio? "I love the smell of napalm in the morning", he says. That cad, that monster, that cavalier slaughterer, that inhumane beast.
NO?
Well then, I shall tell you that your post displays infantile reasoning at best and mental affliction at worst. To put not too fine a point on things, my dear, if most people would agree with your ridiculous reasoning then their intellect is as wretched and woefully lacking as yours appears to be.
Bleck, the assumption I made, was if there was an association between yourself and murder. I never accused you, but I could not help but wonder due to the language you chose to use.
Once again, you attack my intellect (lack thereof) and that of anyone else who may agree with me, but I cannot figure out why you do. Does it bother you how someone like me with "infantile reasoning and mental affliction", was able to "connect the dots" between you and death? I hope not. I never meant to cause you trouble. You wrote, "Please, I assure you, there's nothing to fear in mere words". Funny, I cannot recall when I wrote I was in fear of your words. Oh, you must be Assuming I am, therefore I feel compelled to inform you, I do NOT fear your words. Truth is, I really enjoy your posts and find several quite amusing:)
Hey, looking forward to hearing your input after Antonio's show tonight.
Connect dots between me and death. Ah yes, well no, you did not do that, did you now? No, of course not. You connected the dots, quite incorrectly, from me committing murder, which is certainly not the same as you are now rather disingenuously attempting to claim.
What I find the most laughable is that the things I deal with on a daily basis, most cannot stomach. Yet my biggest problem at the moment is being unable to stomach Antonio's so called designs. I have not failed to notice, either, that you've made no comment regards to my use of your reasoning in connecting dots to Antonio and depravity. Quite so.
I bet you are very much looking forward to my critique and I promise I shall not disappoint.
I don't know about anyone else, but I think Antonio is Awesome to do this. After all the rotten, low-class, filthy, trashy comments people have said about him, it's nice to know he cannot be "broken". He is talented, confident, and has both, character AND personality; that is why he is the new Design Star…
Good Luck Antonio!!!!!!!!
House broken, do you mean? I certainly agree. I once saw someone say he was "the pitbull of design"—they meant it as a compliment.
Talented? In his own fashion, though his fashion tends to be out of step with a good many people.
Confident? Overly so. Swaggering bravado is often off putting.
Character? I saw some positives and negatives in this category. Nice, not so nice, and lack of integrity. Just goes to show that he is human.
Personality? Yes, a certain persona, that it the reason they gave him the show after all.
How do you know if he has read any of the comments or if he even cares
remember he" came to win not make any friends"
Exactly… Perhaps that's why he walked away The WINNER!!!
He didn't need the support of fellow competitors. Last I checked, it's called Design Star, not Design Stars….
By your reasoning then, Antonio walked away the winner because he had no care of his fellow competitors and was willing to do anything and everything necessary to come out on top, even if that meant sabotaging designs and setting others up to fail.
I have never been very fond of conspiracy theories, and as an Antonio fan it would seem unwise to espouse such views, but if this is what you believe then this is what you believe.
Odd though, that you would think that type of objectionable behavior should be rewarded.
No Bleck, never said Antonio didn't care about his fellow competitors. Don't twist words around. I said HE didn't need the SUPPORT of his fellow competitors.
It's obvious you missed the episode where Antonio assisted Lonni with her white wall challenge. That COULD have been the perfect opportunity for her to be eliminated, yet he cared enough to lend a hand. Talk about a missed opportunity…
OH and before you accuse me of speaking bad about Lonni, I really liked her, she's very talented, and I thought she was more of a threat to Antonio, than Dan…………………………….
Antonio is awesome and he is going to have a great show! I am so glad he won.
I am tired of cookie cutter, BORING design and that is what Dan was all about. HGTV has plenty of designers giving the boring sheeple what they want. Finally a show for people that actually can appreciate design outside of the box!
What did Dan do that was so fantastic in the final showdown? There was nothing new, or exciting about his home makeover and that's what the judges saw. Yes, the makeover was pretty and it was also what you expect to see form a mainstream designer.
What did Dan do that was so fantastic? He made a disjointed house into a beautiful home that functions on all levels, met the requests of the family and surpassed 'em, and what's more, nothin gotta be fixed or added or altered. The family absolutely loves it & have said so many times since the last show aired.
But what did Antonio do that the Starr family didn't hafta go back & fix & add stuff 2 make it livable? Could you totally live in that green room? I wouldn't wear that color as a shirt, I deff do NOT want it on my walls. Nice to move the door so's 2 not see the john but what lady wants 2 share a sink when she didn't hafta before Antonio 'fixed' the house?
That god-awful fugly wood thing at the fireplace. GAG. The little red chair is cool but hows a family & company & stuff gonna sit altogether when all the furnitures shoved away from the couch & off to the corners? They gonna have to do the exorcist head twisty thing or turn into an owl to see each other when they talk.
I C the kid had a baby bed before and now he's still got it just without the bars & it's like all shoved in a corner. Gonna give the poor kid a complex and wassup with the stars? I get it was about the family name but didn't Antonio hear the judges drone about wall treatments not being the only way 2 have a focal feature in a room? No place to stick toys & books & blocks & shoes & whatever kids need to have picked up and put away. 2 teeny foot stools to sit? What, the kid never gonna have company and the parents gonna enjoy being in there with no real place to rest their rumps on?
The kitchen was nice. That's alls I can say about it tho'.
He colored some walls, put furniture in odd places, & took away from the house while totally dropping the ball on what the family needed. Instead of making it a warm, functional, fun, funky home that met all their needs, alls they got is a house they hafta fix up again. So what was so majorly amazing about Antonio's 'outside of the box' design? That he was willin' to go in & do that to somebody's real house?
Am I missin' somthing?
Oh BlueBear, you are right on track.
These people claim to be avid HGTV watchers, yet they've never seen a TV concealed before??? Too funny. They are reaching for anything to make it look as though Dan was innovative. Simply put, he was NOT. Though I really like Dan and his designs, only the white wall challenge could be considered unique. For the most part, his designs were "safe" and it worked because he made it to the final challenge. Truthfully, I think Lonni had more to offer and would have been a bigger threat to Antonio, but I think he still would have prevailed. His work speaks for itself. Has anyone bothered to look at his portfolio? It's amazing—Absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!
So you're saying that Antonio's not innovative either, right, 'cause I'm pretty darn sure he concealed a TV too.
His work speaks for itself? Yea, that's true. It screams "I'm dangerously untalented and don't deserve a tv show."
The pictures someone else took of his work speaks to the photographers skill & not Tony's, cuz if that wasn't so then how come Tony's rooms didn't look so great on HGTVs cameras?
Agree 100% with Sokka…… HGTV needed a new take on the million design shows on TV. They really didn't care about quality as Antonio has none, and they also didn't care that he is obnoxious and rude. Remember everyone, bad boy drama sells. So he'll be running around knocking down walls, getting his hands dirty and all that macho stuff. Just a word to HGTV…Your audience IS mainstream. Thanks a lot for caring more about a possible brief ratings spike vs long range quality and the audience really caring about a TV personality. The Antonio Project will be not be seen by this household nor could I care less about Antonio's next rampage. Good luck, flash in the pan. Your 15 minutes of fame start soon!!!!
I agree with you. He is an awesome designer, you never know what you are giong to get and that is the best thing about designing. You make it happen.
He is unique and that is what HGTV needs, not a copy of David or Vern. I am so sorry that people are being so rude about this. If they don't like his show, don't watch it. Some of Antonio's critics have not really been watching. They seem to forget how he helped another designer get finished in one of the early shows, how he helped diffuse the tension in the green room by just being pleasant and even funny. He seems to work well with his crew…at least what we saw of the way he worked with them was impressive. He won. So give him a chance to show what he's got.
Stuff unique, my dear.
That was NOT the stated intent of Design Star now was it? No, it was not.
The intent was to find the BEST DESIGNER and give him/her their own tele program as an award. Instead of BEST DESIGNER we get "different". It is not the same, it is a sham, a mockery, an outrage what HGTV has done.
IntenseDebate Notification <DIV>Sorry thatyou don't recognize that uniqueness is special and a true elementof artistry. Itrequires talent, courage, experience, adventurousness and a little audacity. If you want to \”Stuff\” it, go right ahead, but then don't consider yourself a judge of talent.</DIV> <DIV>And for what it is worth, I don't know you, and I'm not your \”dear.\”</DIV> <DIV style=\”FONT: 10pt arial\”>
Oh, I see. You've no issue whatsoever with the rewriting of the rules in order to rob the true winner of his rightful prize.
I understand that sheer lack of fair mindedness. Never mind that the show's stated intent for the last four years, as said for the hundred millionth time, was to find the BEST DESIGNER rather than the most different contestant.
I consider myself, along with the majority of outraged fans, perfectly capable of recognizing talent. I have never said that Antonio was untalented, just that his talent was not something I found personally enjoyable and that it in no way, shape, or form surpassed Dan's talent, most especially not in that final challenge.
For what it is worth, I call everyone 'dear'. Dear.
Unique? That pink geese idea he copied from David Bromstad himself. Unique! Blah!
David Bromstad did the pink geese thing? well that changes everything. Antonio copied his idea. I need proof can you provide it for me?
Saw it on an older episode.
White deer heads popping from a hot pink background. Check out how David did it here.

Tony ain't so original….so's howsabout the 'Unoriginally Tacky Designs'?
I only have one question does Hgtv have a better chair thatnthat ugly plastic looking chair? it just looks uncomfortable to sit in or is it the vlog chair and you can only afford one I will gladly break out by piggy bank and donate for a better chair.
Get the garlic and wooden stakes ready.
S'mores!
I dunno, I don't have a facebook account. Ya gotta have one to read it? I did read an interview this guy did and he was all 'why do people gotta be so mean?'
Hope they ask him about it cuz that don't seem too tough and macho of him.
Despite his looks, he does have a kind heart. Lonnie and helping her with the white room is one instance. And I, for one, do not believe his tears were "fake" as some have said when speaking about the military family's home. And, please, no b&*%#$Ng about the tan paint when there have to be at least 40 neutral shades of white at the paint chip counter! The colors worked and the spouse was happy. I also noticed that Antonio made it a point to thank his helpers each and every time he worked with someone. Dan did-but I only noticed it on the last show. So, like my mom always said, don't judge a book by its cover. JMHO and looking forward to Sunday.
So he helped someone out. Big deal. Didn't other people do that too? Yea! Why's it make him so special?
I said nothing about tan paint but since yur the one to bring her up, the dude lied & by doing that he cheated his teammates outta what they ALL agreed on. Don't matter if it worked out, he's still a jerk cuz he did it.
Just cuz editing of the show……and we ALL knowz about the editing, right….shows the dude shakin' hands don't mean the others didn't do the same & that just got cut to the floor.
I was judgin' by behavior which some of youz seem willin' to pretend never happened cuz a guyz willing to destroy a house with so called designs by 'thinkin' oustide a box'.
HE IS THE NEW DESIGN STAR! HE WON! HE HAS HIS OWN SHOW! HE WAS THE LAST MAN STANDING! DID YOU SEE THAT? JUST CHECKING.
I am with you. He was the only one that I noticed that was not bad mouthing the other. I loved him from the beginning. He is awesome!
No thanks. I've heard enough of his egotistical garbage mouth.
BRAVO ANTONIO!
I'll be watching with my friends.
Not being someone who likes watching train wrecks, I'll be watching the EMMY'S on CBS. I checked the
Nielson ratings on last Sundays DS finale, it was a blockbuster and a big money maker for the network. I think a lot of that had to do with DAN. I'll be excited to check the ratings for this Sunday's Antonio Debut. Hopefully,
it will be in the tank.!
Hey who let the bitter grade schoolers on the comment board???
I don't know, I guess Antonio, or HGTV, wanted all of his little fans to comment!
I and about 15 of my friend who love Antonio watched it and thought it was GREAT! He is going to bring the house down. I can't wait! We are going to watch him to the end. YES!
Yes, if you want bring the roof down, Antonio is the man: Antonio House Wreckers,Inc. Now there is his skill set! However, if you are looking for a real designer, then you will have to go elsewhere!
What were the ratings for the Antonio project? They may have been high because even those of us who do not like him watched out of curiosity. But I bet his regular show won't garner great ratings, especially after watching that vulgar display on Sunday evening.
Oooooh… wow… the bad boy of design.
Give me an effing break. His designs suck and even he knows it I'm sure.
More like 'the boy of bad design'. We shall see on Sunday. Or rather, we shall see more bad design on Sunday. At least it is his own house this time round and not some poor unfortunate soul.
It does appear that the twitter chat is set to run concurrent with the program and then at some point the Facebook live chat. That is rather counter-productive to having viewers watching and taking in the show whilst chatting live with Antonio at the same time.
Oh dear, it does seem someone has muddled the schedule.
Carol, I guess you don't keep up with current trends. Antonio's designs have the WOW factor – new, contemporary. Dan's decorating style – altho a nice guy – reminds me of work I'd see in my Mother or great-Aunties homes. And Antonio's macho personality? Love it!
Wow factor…yea, as in WOW what have you done to my place and I'm so gonna hurl! His "designs" should come with those green yukky face poison stickers.
I don't like his 'designs' or his 'tude, that's not what's cool to me and wouldn't dream of wreckin' my place with that type of 'wow' factor. You like that kinda junk then you let him wreck your crib.
Those pink geese…ew…just like those neon orange deer heads Bromstad did, but at least when he did it the theme was a cabin.
