  4. Can't wait to see your online episodes — we've got two kids, an almost 3-year-old girl and a 6-month-old boy, and putting together functional rooms for them is a huge challenge. Their rooms are also different sizes — maybe there's a way to incorporate a shared play space into the larger room that they can both share? I've also seen people cut kid-sized doorways into the wall between the rooms so they have a secret passageway but I've been too scared to do it myself. Help us face our fears!

  5. Congratulations, Dan!! I'm excited to see more of your designs in your upcoming show. Although I don't have kids, I'm sure your design tips and tricks will be useful for other rooms in my home.

  6. I wanted Dan to win Design Star, so I'm glad that he at least has his own online show. However, I think having it focus on just kids'/babies' rooms is too narrow. I'd rather the parameters be more broad than that, and he can occasionally do a kids' room within his show. If it's just kids' rooms, that leaves me out of the equation, and I'd like to have a reason to watch it, because I like Dan.

    • I agree completely. My first thought upon hearing that he was going to focus on kids' rooms was "Well, I guess I'm not watching it!" I think that idea would leave out a HUGE portion of the Design Star audience that enjoyed his designs and personality. Not the best idea, in my opinion.

    • leaves out a lot of us – too bad, as i think Dan has a lot to offer!

    • I agree! Dan had much better balance and scale in his projects. I would like to see a wider range rather than kids rooms. Mine are all out of the nest.

    • Dan — I agree that you should have won Design Star! Having your own online show will be a stepping stone to more, I am sure. I will look in at your show even though I don't need kid's room designs. Maybe I can pass them for grandkids. I am a little disappointed though — I think you have more to offer than narrowing the room choices so much. Maybe not just kids' rooms but kid friendly spaces? You could still do a living room, just keep kids in mind with softer corners, washable fabrics and sturdy designs. I like the ideas you showed on DS because they are something I could really use in my home — not some gun-toting hot momma on the wall or ego-feeding thrones! Hope your show leads to something big on TV that real people will watch! You have talent!

  7. Dan, Thanks for the video! I would like to know where to start when painting a mural on a bedroom wall. I don't have an overhead projector. I will appreciate any ideas. Love your style.

Jenni on September 23, 2009 at 4:24 pm
    • You can usually rent either an overhead projector or better yet an opaque projector to use to draw on walls

  9. We have a 900 square foot house which means space and storage are limited….We have a 4 month old whom I share a closet with. Creative storage and closet issues would be great!

  10. Congrats, can't wait to see your new show.
My 4 year old grandson is always changing his mind about his favorite things, one minute its super heros, the next its Star Wars characters, etc. It would be great to see a design that can be created and able to grow with their likes. As they grow older their likes change so much. It would be nice to get ideas that let you change their rooms without be really costly. I know that you can put cutouts on walls and remove them but there has to be a more creative way to do this .
    Wish you much success.

When did you ever see Antonio do anything with style and class? Why would you expect him to ever be able to change? Antonio has already greatly exceeded his level of incompetence, and that is all he can excel at.
