Where is Meg? She is the best thing to happen to HGTV Why would you cave to negative people who wrote in. There are sooooo many of that loved her. Please give us the show we were promised and stop the madness. She is a real find and cute as she can be. We set up the dvd to catch her shows in case we missed them. Bring her back.

I actually thought that Carl was the best of the designers in the last season all of the way through. I really thionk he should get a show, people just love what he designed, even though he had to work on his script, he had clear vision.

I like the idea that the public can vote, because it would have been Carl and Kelli all of the way.

I love Emily's show because her rooms look lived in and reflect the personality of the owners. She analyzed their style and creates a room based on it. I love that concept. Plus she teaches design principles so that you may do the same thing at home. I have learned so much from watching her and Candice Tells All. I finally decorated my large modern coffee table using tips she gave on one of her shows about what items to use and how to place them. It looks like a had a professional do it. I don't have to sift through pictures in a magazine anymore and try to copy it. I can now come up with my own design by following her tips. I'm getting ready to tackle the entire living room am I'm no longer afraid to mix patterns and colors cause I know the rules and when to break them.

I have a living room with a whole wall of 30ft windows and have no idea what to do with space. I'm not looking for windows treatments, as I love the openness but I need to know what to do with space in front. I have a sectional sofa and entertainment center in the room, so I was thinking of a siting area or reading area……. Please help!

I enjoy watching Genevieve Gorder and Sabrina Soto, I so need help designing a room, I bought the family home in 1998 and didn't want to leave it a shrine to my parents so I started gutting it, fast forward 12 years an d I am nowhere near done and cannot figure out how to set up the living room. I would love to be able to ask both these talented women, I know I could not afford their fees but would love to find out how to get help. I trust their opinions and judgement.

Hello, I’m writing to you in the hopes of being considered for a basement makeover. My husband and I have a modest home in Richlandtown Pa. We are approaching our thirtieth wedding anniversary. This is our second home. We’ve lived here for thirteen+ years. We both work full time and just pay the necessities. We havnt had enough $ to do anymore than paint. Our home needs work but we just can’t seem to afford it. We have two children. A son in the US Air Force (getting deployed to Afghanistan in January, and a married daughter with two grandsons. Trying to financially help them leaves little for home improvements. We are bottom dwellers. Explanation… We live in our unfinished basement. We painted the cinder block walls with concrete paint, but that’s where it ends. For a surprise for my husband(a die hard Philly sports fan) I’d like your help to create a “Sorts/bar media basement”. He deserves it. Please consider this request that would make two desperate for help grandparents to have the basement fit for a fan! Hopeful, Terry Westcott

I like the show myself. I think she earned her spot, some designs I don't like but for the most part she is a good designer (can't please everyone) I think it Is very RUDE to say someone is homely! Meg is cute as a button good luck on your new show girl!

I so will not be watching her show, because this woman is .. exactly what one could achieve by doing a quick free consult at Home Depot, with a disinterested employee, a quick trip to Sears and JC Pennyey's outlet stores and then move right past by stopping at Good Will for some more vintage pieces. Her stuff is nice. It is not "Wow!" and who wants to pay for nice, which one can do themselves? I want someone who can think of what I can't, either because they are insane (Antonio) or have more knowledge (uhm .. the people who help Antonio and Antonio) or they just have a good outsider view – somewhat David who is, by the way, artistic and that helps with insanity – and that Dress My Nest guy.

Her rooms look like her – fairly well dressed and passable, but, nothing I'd write home about or care to emulate.

She is so not even close to my favorite. Right after she didn't listen to the client, aka: the little boy who wanted a bunk bed, she lost all interest for me. If it isn't someone I would want to hire, it isn't someone I'd want to watch being inflicted on someone else's space. So far, Antonio is my favorite and David is right up there with him. And, yes, I realize it is a different season, but, take my point, because, Myles is okay and Emily is okay, but, Antonio and David are the only ones I go out of my way to watch. That blond thing from whatever episode, who won for who knows what reason, does serene okay, but, she is a clingy, needy sort of person who makes me feel so very tired watching her. It's like an old SNL sketch 'The Thing That Wouldn't Leave'.

Yeah… this grand conspiracy is called advertising. It exists everywhere including: on TV, in movies, on the radio, in books and magazines, on billboards, in the mail, on benches, on taxis, on the sides of buses, in schools, in the workplace, on bananas, and even at the top of this page. If you are trying to make a point it's a moot one… at best. Advertising is necessary in an economy that thrives on capitalism, and thus, the responsibility lies with consumer on being informed and discerning about what they choose to buy into. Just because something exists doesn't mean you have to have it, and if you want something you see doesn't mean you're a sheep – it means you have an opinion and personal tastes.

Furthermore, those of you who agreed with the statement above and then referred to others as sheep shows that irony is still alive and well.

P.S. I actually like Meg's show – she's very pleasant.

I completely agree with Betty. Something in this show is fixed, and I will not be watching another episode in the future. Meg is absolutely HIDEOUS. She is ugly, fat, hard to watch, and has the worst voice ever on a television show. She needs a good throat doctor to find out why she sounds like sandpaper. And if this isn't enough, she seems totally phoney in every respect. She certainly couldn't have slept her way to the top, because most of the judges are gay, and she looks like she would stink if she were to remove her clothing. Yikes, what gives? Mark was the clear winner in every respect.

On Oct 15, 2011 the episode that Meg was taking down a wall for a kitchen remodel she wisely brought in an architect. The only problem I had is that when I checked my span tables for floor joists and found that the longest clear span was far short. There must have been some details left out of the show. 25' clear span would make the 2nd floor feel like a trampoline when you walked across the floor. If that architect said that a 25' clear span for a 2nd floor living space based on 2×10 or 2×12 16" on center was way off.

Two shows is all that anyone could take. What a wall paper disaster and a bar in the kitchen for the kids to hurt on. The carpenter did all the installing so what was her part except the green , green , green everything if it was my kitchen on the first show I would have cried.

Kellie was out in the lead on this poll so early as many viewers realized she was not talented enough to win the show so they liked her and started voting early as they knew this was the only way she could get a show. If you want to watch a boring person scream every five minutes she is a mother, and then bawl for the next five minutes and then give you some VERY POOR, DATED DESIGN that is from the 70's and poorly done, she is your gal!!! Many of the other contestants did not get their votes as early as many of us viewers with true design sense, still believed, stupidly on our parts, that the judges would actually wise up this season and put through the most talented, entertaining, deserving designer out there and give them their show, when we realized that was not going to happen the designer stated getting their votes but just a little too late for some of them. Karl or Mark would have been a much better selection. Again, another show I will not watch. Looks like HGTV is losing it's viewing audience, as they deserve to do so.

I did watch HGTV all of the time but got disappointed when the controversy of "too many gays and lesbians" were on the shows. I have seen a few couples having their homes or rooms redone, the only two host I know of are Vern and David, so what is the big deal? Let's face it, the network has become homophobic and they do not want any competition to their two gay stars, so no other gay can win "Design Star". If you look over the years, the great, talented designer whom is always ends up in second place and should have won, just happens to be gay and therefore, draws many of us gays in to watch only to be disappointed to see the better, talented, more entertaining designer come in second place. Let's face it another gay "Design Star" is not possible due to the networks heads thinking. So I ask all of my brothers and sisters and gay and lesbian supporters to do as I have done and find something else to watch. A word to the wise for prospective gay/lesbian "Design Star" applicants. They only want you to get the ratings for the show but they will not give you a show. Just be honest and state " No Gay/Lesbian need to apply because no matter how good, talented, deserving you are we will not give it to you!" I also will not be watching Kelly's show online either, do not understand her support, poor design and planning and crying all the time, BORING!!!!

The theme for Meg is appropriate because her win was a crime. I am happy that Meg took a career risk and that her 15 minutes has been such a wonderful experience, but she has much to learn and far to go to develop from craft to art.

Karl clearly has more experience and a higher level of sophistication regarding function and form. He was finally getting cozy with the camera and has the potential to be a big draw. I hope that he gets all the opportunities that he so richly deserves.

I am thrilled that this arena is here to showcase talented designers. I do hope that the screening process provides a higher caliber of talent, and focuses less on the personality conflicts that seem to drive the series. Lets have more drama in the design and less in the designers!

my two daughters (8.5) & (6), are huge fans of the show Design Star and Meg!

They both watched the show every week, even multiple times in anticipation of the next show.

It was the cutesy thing to watch. They even picked who they thought the winners were going to be every week.

While I couldn’t believe their interest in this more adult show, it showed me how great HGTV has become for the whole family.

My daughters have recently moved out of the house with their mother, due to us getting a divorce….,

They are surprisingly doing really good with the situation, which helps me and my EX wife feel a bit better.

The house that they just moved into has undergone a complete renovation and is really a cute house, and my Ex Wife has done a very good job to make the girls room feel like a new warm home for them, but due to a minimal living budget she hasn’t had the money to really decorate the room the way I know she would really like to for the girls.

The walls are a blank canvas, being painted all white and the windows don’t have any curtains up yet.

I know my girls would absolutely love to have Meg decorate their room for them, but I’m sure there is a very long list of people wanting Megs talent.

wow, I'm shocked at all of the negative comments. I was really rooting for Meg and think she is a great designer. I agreed with the judges and I was rooting for Meg all the way through. Great job Meg! Once those that are sad about Karl not winning warm up to you, they'll love you as much as all of the people who put their money on YOUR TALENT!

This is to the producer of the show .I would like to no how come We can never get make over here in the St Louis Mo area.I saw you show where someone was buying a homes on the show.Why is it so hard for you to help people here is the st Louis area.I need your help really really bad.I watch your show everyday for hour's.My basement is in a disaster.I'm so embarrassed that I can even have company down there.I don't have no job I can't work due to my illness my husband is working and don't have money or the time.I really need help Meg won and I was so happy she good to she in Chicago and that's only 4hrs away is there any way at all that you can share some of you helping hands for this Holiday seasons.It's very depressing I have no place to put nothing it's a bungalow and back in those day's they didn't have much closet space.I have been trying since 08 to get a make over and I don't no what it is that people do to get the help but everybody doesn't
live in nyc.You did do a segment on house hunter a couple looking for a house in kirkwood I saw it again today .Can you show some love to St.Louis and help me and my family .

I've watched Meg's show to date and she is OK. She's still a little hyper, which is understandable. I've liked her designs but there is something off and I can't put my finger on it. Perhaps she's just too enthusiastic? Anyway, I thought at the time she was the best choice, but now I wonder…. if Karl wouldn't have been a better choice. I wonder what the judges think privately.

I tried to watch the show because unlike most, I wanted to like Meg's show and to give it a chance. This is a public forum and we are all entitled to our opinions. Don't be a hypocrite talking about being negative when your making statements that have nothing to do with design like raising kids. You don't pay my bills. I'll state my opinion, thanks.

I don't need to speak for the masses. They have already spoken with almost 40 pages worth in blogs, all denouncing Meg as the true winner of DS for exactly the same reasons why I can't watch her show. It's a little amusing to hear you boast about Meg's plenty of fans.

You must be pretty desperate and feel threatened about the future of Meg's show to react that way on my one post. I am certainly not the first or last to make such remarks.

Least I was willing to give her a chance. Many viewers who were unhappy with DS either turned HGTV off or not watching her show. So now that her show is about to end, you want to make nice for Meg on the blogs. Big deal.

I had hoped Karl would win. I loved his design style and his creativity. I thought he deservied to win. I don't particularly like Meg's show – not interesting, her voice is irritating, and she tries to hard it comes off fake. I thought so even when she was on Design Star. Nothing at all to do with her looks. Despite that, if HGTV wants to keep her and continue the show, that is their decision. We as viewers can either tune in or not as we choose. But I sincerely hope that Karl is given an opportunity soon to have a show on HGTV. He would definitely add value to the HGTV set (no pun intended) and that is a show I would definitely watch. He's great and I really hope to see him again! And love his personality too – it's more real!

I think Meg is doing very well and her designs are fantastic!!! I will be watching her show!!! I so enjoyed Karl and Mark ( I thought Karl would win), but I think just getting your talent recognized on this show will give these designers future opportunities, just look at that Dina does Dallas show!! That lady was on the first design star show and , in my humble opinion she was not that talented, but she now has her own show, which shows her tacky taste level in all its glory!!! I switched channels the moment the 'winner' was announced. Did not stay to watch the 'celebration' and have not watched HGTV since. Just came by to see if Karl is being offered a show. The judges may have a ton of years in the design world, but the winner of this show still needs to have viewers. I will not be one and in fact am so disgusted about the way that this 'Design Star' was so transparently foisted on HGTV 's loyal viewers that "you guys" will not be in my channel line-up anymore. D-E-S-I-G-N , NOT Drama, is what I used to tune in for. Throughout the season Meg failed at ever doing something that I had never seen done before. Loved her eye for fabric, but she is not even as good at that as my sister-in-law, who lives just a few minutes from me.I guess its time for an alternative design channel. There is definitely a void just waiting to be filled.

I have tried to watch Meg's show for the 3rd week in a row. But I switched channels. I cannot watch her.
Her designs are boring at best. Messy and uninspiring at worst. Her over the top personality is just the icing on a bland cake. Those of you professing to have read all the comments and then condemning us for having our own opinion, should not bother to read the posts since you only seem to be 'reading' into what people are saying and not really listening. Most of us are DISSATISFIED WITH HER DESIGN TALENT. But I guess if you can accept the mundane and mediocre, the show is for you. I can do that on my own. I don't need to waste my money paying for a network to show me that or my time.

I have read all of the comments and am surprised at how negative these people have been they seem to react to her on screen image and i think they don't like a big bubbly girl……just because she is not a fit handsome guy or superskinny chick does not mean she has no talent ! Get over it people!

Meg I loved following you on Design Star and rooted for you all throughout the series and am glad you won. However I was disappointed with your kitchen makeover, i thought it was too kitschy and tacky and was something that was not very inspired i thought any housewife could have picked out those nick nacks. But you redeemed yourself in my eyes on your next show of the Loft it was up to the standards you proved you could design on the Design Star series I was impressed it was beautiful and something that was true to the personality of your clients. You will go far, and i cannot wait to see what you design next, i just hope you do not disappoint again. i do not expect you will.

I really want to watch Meg's new show, but the scheduling time is terrible. By the time we get our daily activities out of the way, the show is over with. Or, it's in direct competition with college football, and guess which one wins?! I hope there will be another time available, or that the episodes with be available to watch online. I do like Meg, and I'm glad she won. It's true that she's not as cute and photogenic as some of the women, but the show was about the ability to design, and Meg has proven she can certainly handle that.
We enjoy watching her, and really hope the poor positioning of the show does not result in poor ratings. That would be a real shame.

I watched both shows and can honestly say Meg is a nice girl but I wasn't impressed with her designs at all. Maybe its just not my style. I feel she does come across rather fake tries to hard in front of the camera. I wasn't impressed with her on Design Star as well, she lacked a lot in quite a few episodes. I really don't think her show will be around for long…. shes not a designer like David or Candice.. I think she would make a great child's room designer but not adult things she just don't seem to cut it.

Again, with someone knows with no uncertainty how God feels or if he is pleased or not pleased. What a ridiculous assumption. You have know way of knowing Kelly's thoughts, if they were pure or not. You only know what the show chose to show you and what she says about herself. And, I personally never trust anyone who uses their religious faith to "win" something.

Oh, please! What has God's plan have to do this competition? There is such smugness from these Fundamentalist Christians. I used to be one, so I know how easy it is to say spiritual sounding things that have no basis in GOOD theology. It is God's will that Kelly be humble, kind to others, helpful to the needy, etc. She may be all of those things, but God doesn't reward you with a show if you pass the test. Christians seem to think they are persecuted these days, when in fact, they have had and still have more chances of good reporting than bad. This has been so prevalant that it has taken years to expose child abuse that has been rampant in the Catholic church. Was that God's will, too?

Okay, what is this line running thru comments about Kelly (a godly woman) (you will glorify God). I am a Christian and I absolutely find it repulsive when people use such glib phrases in "Christian-Speak." This was an audition for a professional job, not a contest for missionary of the year.

Godly woman? What does that have to do with good design. Anytime someone presents themselves as "Godly" I start looking for a scandal, because there is usually one under the rug somewhere. I am a Christian, but I don't believe in using a person's religious views to vote on design issues. This is a good example of why so many people do not like Christians.

What a shame. HGTV gave us a lack-luster Design Star season, some people who had tremendous potential went home too early, in place of Cathy who should have gone home after her first temper tantrum. Meg, while she seems sweet, was not even a distant finish in fan vote, so who does HGTV think is going to tune in to her show? I'm afraid she is shot in the foot before she even starts. The obvious choice should have been Mark, and if they had given him extra weeks like they did to Cathy, he would have sailed thru to the end. If HGTV is smart, they will give him his own show after Meg's show flops. I will be interested in if HGTV is listening to the many comments about disliking the format this year. I hope so, or I won't waste my time next seaaon.

When you have viewers thinking more about HOW the winner got chosen and criticizing the judges and the network for their poor decision instead of how great the show was, you got a bad show.

People should walk away feeling like DS was great and look foward to watching their new winner.
HGTV didn't accomplish either one this year.
I really hope HGTV does it better next season. I don't think they can afford another screw up season.

I remember her saying something about putting on big girl panties on one of the DS episodes, too.
That made me wanna vomit. It was just disgusting.
Meg – STAY AWAY FROM references and showing body parts that should be covered up and OFF the camera. It's not sexy. It's gross and UNappleaing!
