The most important meals of the day are generally spent in the most important rooms of the home. The dining room. Sometimes the living room. And of course the kitchen.

Winter isn’t the most visually-arresting season for peering out the kitchen window while enjoying a plate of anyway-you-want-them eggs and buttered toast. You long for the sun-filled days of spring so you can gaze proudly at your freshly-cut lawn, sculpted bushes and flower beds. You long for green in the days when green is still months away. So why not bring the green inside with fresh plants and spring colors?

Placing herbal plants next to windows and on shelves not only brings the garden into your kitchen, it can also make annoying household chores (cough*dishes*cough) a little easier to bear.

Even setting a few plants on or in front of the kitchen table can invoke the feeling of eating at your favorite outdoor cafe.

What kinds of plants do you use to brighten up your kitchen?

I’m looking for a new look for my bedroom. I’m thinking maybe of going for a floral theme but I’m not sure where to look. Anyone have any ideas?
