If you’re like me, you love all things Southwest. The sunsets, the breathtaking landscapes and the amazing margaritas (oops, I didn’t say that).

So when the bigwigs at HGTV announced that Dream Home 2010 would be built in New Mexico, I was just a bit thrilled.

This year, instead of keeping fans in suspense for months, we’ve decided to launch a Web cam right at the site, so we can document the construction process, step by step. There’s been just a bit of activity thus far, but the sunset photos are reason enough to take a peek.

Got a moment to spare? View the Dream Home 2010 Web cam.

I love the site chosen for the 2010 dream home. Taos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque are just beautiful places.

WOW! I can't believe how much the landscape has already changed with each and every day. The trucks come in , clear the road, clean up the lot, and soon the building will begin! So, where are the plans again? :) This is so very cool! I have watched new construction in my area go from open fields to housing developments, but being able to watch it like this from the east coast is so very neat. Love, love, love this! This is right up my alley!

Thanks Mary and thanks HGTV for sharing this with us all…have to go now to let some of the other blogs know what's going on here!

    Living the Dream!

P.S. I love the sunsets…sitting outside with my family sipping my Margaritas…ahhh, it's Heaven Dream Home 2010!

I too am a margarita fan, but I wonder, why don't they call them Tequila Sunsets and not Tequila Sunrise—after all, isn't that when you're most likely to be drinking one?

Missing the DH10 blogging buddies, but…?

I am sddened that the home will be built on the west coast again, but this time so close to Mexico when troubles are raging high in that area, There is middle america which I have bever seen a home as well as the lower east coast. I am not from either, however I feel most of your watchers are. Please correct me if wrong. I am disbled, but will still enter on behalf of my family and would love to win as much as anyone, but wish you had decided on a location more convienient to most. Thank you for your time.

    thank you

This part of New Mexico is truly beautiful and the part about the trouble in Mexico is being a bit exaggerated. Yes it is there, but mainly in the much larger cities and it does not affect people that do not (how do I say this) well trouble comes where trouble goes.If your are not in that type of trade or "work" the trouble will not find you. Also that part of the country is perfect for Green houses lots of solar, mostly mild weather and beautiful country. As far as entries I feel that they come from all over the country. I live in Ca,my sister in Or and son in Utah we all enter every day. It just seems the winners are most often from the middle of America. I am also disabled and this is the perfect area for me to retire to.I definitely will be entering every day and watching with great interest and excitement as the home develops.

Wow I just saw the Green Home with Carter, not sure which was more sexy him or the house. (LOL) The house is beautiful , I cannot get over the tables in the living room . I love that they were made from trees that had fallen . I love the rooftop garden and the rain barrels. Trying to be green is harder than most people think it is but can be done . In our home my dad and I have switched to the neat looking light bulbs and we use more organic products and I have even used products we have in the home to make cleaning products . It is amazing what you can do with lemon juice and baking soda. And coffee grounds of all things. We have a garden and I have found out that you can use organic dish soap to kill bugs on the plants. We us freecycle to get rid of stuff we do not need any longer and it keeps it out of landfills.

Did you know you can use baby oil and lemon juice to polish.

It smells good too. I have found some neat stuff to help me in my cleaning.

Naturally, no place on Earth is everyone's paradise, but New Mexico is definitely a beautiful spot as far as I am concerned. I'm looking forward to the floorplan reveal, hopefully soon.

In the meantime, we get to watch the progress on the Dream Cam, as well as those beautiful sunsets.

A big hello goes out to Coop's friends over in the Dream/Green Home blogs.

Thanks to the Dream Cam, we can watch some spectacular sunsets, keep an eye on progress, and compare notes with our blogging buddies.

    Hello to all.
