It’s June! It’s Friday! You know what that means! We have another awesome giveaway from our pals at PartyLite. Check out these Linear Lites Hanging Votive Lanterns. Contemporary and elegantly shaped, these lanterns hang from PartyLite’ Shepherd’s Hook Garden Stakes. This week we’re giving away 3 lanterns and 3 stakes, but that’s not all. We heard from someone people last week about the trouble you have with keeping bugs away from your parties, so PartyLite is throwing in their Citrus Bloom Citronella tealites this week.

All you have to do is comment on this week’s question with a valid email address before Monday Night @ Midnight Eastern. We’ll pick a random winner from all of our comments. Its that simple!
Things are already getting crazy around HGTV. Green Home 2009 wraps up this afternoon, $250,000 Challenge premiered last weekend, and we launched the Design Star Season 4 Blog. This week also celebrated the Oscar the Grouch’s 40th birthday and have a preview of the new i-House. And we’re only 2 weeks into summer!
This week we want to know what’s the one project you keep putting off around the house that you really want to finish this summer?
Need a little inspiration? Check out our Outdoor Living and Outdoor Entertaining areas.

I would like to remodel the downstairs bathroom, it needs alot of work and always get left behind.
Remodel the inside of our garage with paint, cabinets, ect… The garage serves as the main (most used) entrance to the house and needs to be neat clean and inviting…it’s the first impression and personal welcome home area.
I got married last may 2008 and moved in with my new husband. We have many projects we will have to tackle before we can sell and move to a larger home. The first will be a bath remodel. We currently do not have lighting on front lawn, these would be great.
My husband and I bought our first home with an unfinished basement. We want to complete the job ourselves, but are ABSOLUTELY clueless on where to begin! Drywall, insullation, molding, sanding, painting????? Is it as simple as it looks and we just need the know how or should the professionals be called in?!
I would really like to be able to afford to put a swimming pool in for water therapy for my disabled daughter.
I really like theses We are remodling our pourch and this would be a lovely itam to have .
I AM HGTV’S #1 FAN. I WATCH EVERDAY AND ITS THE BEST THING SINCE ICECREAM. I HAVE NEVER WON A CONTEST, BUT I SURE WOULD LOVE TO WIN THESE BEAUTIFUL OUTDOOR LIGHTS. THANKS FOR THINKING OF ME. DEBORAH
As a former partylite consultant I know the quality of these hanging lanterns is tops. I would love to add them to my “work-in-progress” back patio area!
We keep putting off our gardens! Every year I say I am going to perfect them, and low and behold it just does not end up as great as I wanted! The stake lights would really look nice!
Me and my husband just moved into a rental house and these would be perfect to add a personal touch to our lawn. This would be something we could take to our next house.
Love the lanterns!
The one thing I would like to do this summer, is to finish doing the deck over because we have to keep painting it. If we can redo with the long lasting tyrex we could have more time to spend out there. Those would look great around the shed or pool.
I would like to build our new house but will settle for finishing the landscaping around the current house.
I just bought a house and moved in on June first. The house is gorgous but the yard needs so much work, myself, husband and our kids have been pulling out the weeds all weekend and its starting to make an improvement would love these to go in our new garden.
This summer we are finishing up the family room…paint carpet drapes…then we start on the basement…Ugh…
i would love to have these lanterns in my yard
I need to work on the yard. I have a dead tree that has needed to come down for 3 years. Steps to the deck that need major repair. As well as the flower beds that I told my wife that i would redo for her 5 years ago.
For me, it would be mowing the grass. We have a forest growing in our back yard. The grass is well above the fence. I’m embarassed to say it but you DID ask.
The lights would add much to our yard. We live in an old house of the National Historic Registry. Our roof needs to have new shingles. We have a leak in one bedroom. We are having a difficult time finding a contracors. The roof is with many valleys. NO LUCK YET…PLEASE HELP! Thanks
We’ve been putting of tearing out the carpet and flooring in our downstairs and adding wood floors. We moved in last year, and the carpet is still the original. After numerous cleanings it still smells like dog. We don’t have a dog.
We would like to update both kids bedrooms. To start, we'd like to finish painting the three shelving units "my other half" built in one kid's room and organize his stuff. I'd also like to finish the last of a wall stenciling project. In the other kid's room, we want to update it to her growing teenage tastes.
I would love to finish my backyard with new grass, a pergola (spell?) and and a nice play area for the kids!
I want to redo my landscape. I have no ideal where to start. I’ve lived here 8 years and still have the last owners landscape, it’s ok but I want something else reallly baaaaad. Problem, I still don’t know how to do anything here. I moved from NC to south GA and its like moving to another world.
I have a tiny garden on the patio of my apartment and those would look great there!! I love Party Lite and have several candle holders and candles from them!
We bought a 1911 house last summer and it needs a lot of work. We framed in a second bathroom and installed a toilet (first time I’ve ever had two toilets in 17 years of marriage–heaven). It would be wonderful to have a functional sink before the summer is over but my husband is building himself a shop this summer also. I’m not going to kid myself and say I want the bathroom done, just running water in a sink.
I have been buying partylight candles for years. Those lanterns would look great in my backyard next to the new deck that we built. I am trying to landscape my back yard. My husband and I are both disabled due to back problems and we are trying real hard to get this done. It only took me three years to do the front yard. That money would be a great help in being able to hire someone to landscape and get it done before I croak.:)
I’d love the lanterns for the wine tasting we will host in our back yard in the next couple of months.
great lights, better than solar for a quaint night time vibe.
I would love to redo my kitchen floor.
We got the back yard looking spiffy two years ago when we started a family. Now its time we get to the front. It has oodles of potential, just needs some TLC and nice grass.
Love the lights! There’s a really nice carport off the kitchen out back with a nice yard behind that. Ever since moving in a year ago I’ve been thinking about what I could do to spruce it up. I’ve really been wanting to set up an above ground pool back there(since I’m renting) and add a fire pit. I’ve begun landscaping with my favorites, tropical plants. I’m planning on staying here for probably another 5 years, so though I don’t want to do anything too permanent, I want it to feel like home!
This summer I would like to work on making our backyard a nice, relaxing and welcoming area. I can envision what I want but putting it together is not an easy task!!!
My garage is in need of major TLC. I will hopefully find time to organize and create a painting and crafts work station.
I would like to decorate my son’s bathroom in monkeys :0)
We would really like to do some sort of landscape touches to our backyard. We don’t even have a tree, shrubs, or flowers in it, but we do have a great view of the mountains.
I just love these
These are perfect without underground wiring and party light has been one of my favorites for a long time so what a perfect opportunity!! These lights are so elegant and will compliment the new landscaping we are currently working on – that’s our new project!
Love the Linear Lites Lanterns. They would look great in my back yard.
We just started working on our back yard for
a fresh look. We are trying to make our
back yard more user friendly for entertaining and just relaxing. We love the designer of the elegant linear lanterns.
Thanks HGTV for all you do. You always give us Green/Neat ideas for designing.
Thanks, Cindy
These lights would be perfect on my small patio outside my bedroom patio door.
These lights would be a great conversation piece at the graduation party I’m planning for my son. Plus they’d add lots of style!!
We have concrete downspout drain ‘thingies’ that are half crushed and look horrible! Want to get them out of here!
I do however have a side yard where we have our outdoor dinners and the lanterns would be a lovely addition to them.
I am looking forward to fencing our backyard….so I can finally get a weiner dog.
I have a cedar chest that my Grandfather made for my Grandmother and now that it has been passed down to me I would really like to have it refinished as it shows the wear and tear. I want to be able to pass it down to my daughter.
I’m helping my fiancee remodel and re-landscape (and de-ex-wife) his garden pond area and love the idea of adding the hanging outdoor lanterns around the pond!
We retired and moved from Southern California to the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky 6 yrs ago and still have yet to fix a foundation problem in our bedroom that causes the room to slant downhill. The house is 30+ yrs old and we have done much to fix it’s problems. We need to build a deck in the back of the house so we can finish putting in the backyard. We had part of a mountain taken out so that we could have a backyard and have put in the drain pipes but sad to say it remains unfinished now for the last 4 yrs due to my husbands poor health. So until his health returns it will remain undone I’m afraid, however I remain optimistic
I am an unemployed accountant on a tight budget and trying to come up with inexpensive ideas for decorating my home office and workout room.
Where do I start?!!! We tore off the wraparound porch on our 120+ yr. old house 3 years ago & added a brand new one. Still have a little trim painting to do, need to finish the landscaping, new furniture would be nice, etc. etc.
Beautiful!
