Its Friday Freebies time!  This week we move indoors and the crew at Partylite came to us with another awesome set.  Check out their Coast Lights collection featuring the PartyLite Coastal Lights Hurricane.  This new twist on the nautical look will add a sophisticated flair to any home. Craftsmanship and style take center stage and define this one-of-a-kind, hand-blown glass hurricane.  Inside the Hurrican is Partylite’s Round Mottled Layered Pillar in Seaside Mist.  But that’s not all! Partylite has been just as excited as our blog readers over Friday Freebies they’re also providing one lucky winner with the Coast Lights Oyster Shell, Coastal Lights Nautilus Shell, and a dozen Calm Waters tealights to go with it all.

All you have to do is comment on this week’s question with a valid email address before Monday Night @ Midnight Eastern.  We’ll pick a random winner from all of our comments. Its that simple!

For this week, we want to know what’s the one thing in your house that you are the most proud of?  Got a killer couch or maybe you hand crafted your own pillows? Did you paint the kids rooms in one weekend? We want to know!

If you’re not already showing it off, go upload it to Rate My Space. Or if you’re still looking a really great piece of furniture check out Leslie’s post from yesterday with an early look at some of the new pieces coming from HGTV designer Angelo Surmelis.  If green is your thing, Kristine is always on the hunt for some inspiration.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I am proud of the new English garden flower bed I built this summer as you approach my yard. The walkway through has shredded redwood bark with heart shaped slate stones
(One is a flower engraved cement stone, a gift from my coworkers for my newly deceased parents) A redwood arbor is at the end as you enter the newly remodeled patio with a new stone firepit and stainless steel barbaque. Bright white party lights for evening entertainment adorn the house, arbor and fence behind the firepit for a dramatic finish.

I am most proud of my kitchen countertops. I have always been a DIYer and when I bought my house post-divorce out of bankruptcy, it had ugly white laminate countertops in the kitchen. I had tried nearly every decorating project imaginable except tiling, but jumped right in and tiled the countertops. I have a fairly large kitchen and had to redo (thru trial and error) the hard cuts, but get frequent compliments on the finished project. I have never regretted the estimated 100 hours I spent on it and saved a load of money by doing it myself. Since then I have retiled a shower and bathroom floor and feel confident enough to take on any project I can dream up!

I'm proud of my family room. With no demolition, we were able to transform this basement room into a multi functional room for the whole family. A nice cozy area complete with TV, fireplace and big screen for family movie night. Another area with pool table and games. Another great feature is it is adjacent to the laundry room which has a kitchenette in it. No running upstairs for refreshments.

I am most proud that my husband & I actually agreed on something…the paint colors. Took a chance on colors, did what we liked and it paid off big time! We chose varying colors and accent colors throughout the home. Nothing matchy-match yet it flows beautifully. From the textured walls in the green with orange accent wall great room, the bright yellow kitchen and the gold and chocolate brown bedroom. We all love it…made our home a home.

I am most proud of my bathroom downstairs. I was not using the shower so I took the doors off and hung beautiful draperies. I now use it for much needed storage.

My favorite item and one of my best investments is a neutral oversized fuzzy microfiber couch I bought last year. It has a chaise on one end and is the most comfortable guest bed I could have bought. Anyone who has slept on it wants to sleep on it again, including me. It is the perfect place for a nap attack!

I wonder how they get the flowers to stay in that perfect position all the time? Are they artificial or real?

I'm proud of FINALLY picking out colors for several rooms of our house. I especially love the colors for the dining room and kitchen. I have new blinds on order that will make things complete.:)

I am most proud of an enclosed awning my husband and I built off of our kitchen. It provides a cool place to sip refreshments on a hot summer day and allows us the opportunity to sit outside in a rain storm, listening to the drops fall and we don't get wet!

The thing I am most proud of is my master bath. Everything was completely re-done from the floors to the ceiling. It's the perfect place to start my day!
