For this week, we want to know what’s the one thing in your house that you are the most proud of? Got a killer couch or maybe you hand crafted your own pillows? Did you paint the kids rooms in one weekend? We want to know!
If you’re not already showing it off, go upload it to Rate My Space. Or if you’re still looking a really great piece of furniture check out Leslie’s post from yesterday with an early look at some of the new pieces coming from HGTV designer Angelo Surmelis. If green is your thing, Kristine is always on the hunt for some inspiration.
Have a great weekend!

Ok I was not finished I love those pieces but what am most proud of is the physical labor that I put in my landscaping The home we live in had not a bush on the land when we purchased it and in 3 years I pored concrete and planted and painted and sodded my property and we did All of it with our own 2 hands
I have a bakers rack in my kitchen that I love. It was something that a friend was going to throw away because it was hideous and outdated. I love to take furniture pieces and give them new life. So I took it, removed some parts, painted it a crisp white and added brushed nickel pulls to the drawers. It is fabulous! I have it in my kitchen and display my collection of dishes in colors of sky blue, lavender, aqua, and pistachio green. I also display my collection of seed glass pieces on it, so this hurricane would fit in nicely!
I am most proud of the fact that everyone that comes to visit doesn’t want to leave, everyone says my little bitty house is so relaxing and cozy that they just want to hunker in and stay.
I have a stained glass window my father gave us shortly after we were married. It hangs above our fireplace and is framed in oak from a tree from the family farm.
My favorite piece is the corner hutch that belonged to my mother. In it I have placed family mementos including my mother’s wedding veil.
I live alone and recently starting painting when I have free time. I eventually starting hanging my artwork around my place. The amount of compliments that I’ve received is unreal. It certaintly gave the more confidence, convincing me to sell my work.
I painted an accent wall in my living room in dark rich tones to match my living room rug. Looks great.
I have this beautiful antique Chinese cabinet which is made from pieces of beds destroyed during the cultural revolution. It is the focal point of my living room. I store blankets and linens in it.
I am most proud of my kitchen tabel. I found it a yard sale. I stripped and stained it(a lil more than that) all on my own. The only help I got was from my husband who stood over me and told me how I was doing it wrong. It’s beautiful and mine and it is perfect. He doesn’t know so much! I have gotten many compliments!
I have a vanity that belonged to my grandmother. Its from the 1800s. Everytime I sit & gaze in the mirror, I wonder about the other women that gazed in that mirror over the years & wonder what they were thinking – what were their, thoughts, dreams & disappointments. It is such a timeless piece.

I love my bedding! It has my favorite earth-tone colors and a hint of femininity without being too girly. And I love the accent pillows I picked up to go with it all!
In my entryway I have a gilded, hand carved mirror made by my grandfather and given to me and my husband for our wedding. It makes a grand entrance and is stunning to look at. It always reminds me of my grandfather.
I am most proud to be living in a nice house with my small dog. I encountered cancer a while back and was renting the basement of a friend’s house. During the chemo and follow up treatments I never dreamed I would be in my own home, healthy and happy one day. I enjoy sewing, knitting and crocheting. It’s so relaxing to come home to my own little part of the world. I love it from the minute I awake until I go to bed at night!
I have had chronic fatigue for 17 years and have finally found a doctor who is able to treat me. I finally had enough energy to paint my family room a beautiful shade of green, very relaxing.
My Den— we just finish painting the paneling a light green and I am having fun decorating.
HELLO,I JUST AM FINISHING UP MY MASTER BATH WITH THE BEACH LOOK. THIS WOULD GO SO PRETTY IN THERE. BESIDES TOMORROW IS MY 58TH BIRTHDAY. THANK YOU VIKKI WOOTEN
I am most proud of my mexican kitchen paint job. Every morning I say ole!
I think they are very pretty , I guess the one thing i am most proud of in my house is my living room. I painted it and have a border on the top that runs all around the living room, its a gray blue color . And we also got leather couchs to go in it, its not much but we like it. Wish we could do more but we have a limited budget. Thank you christina mendoza
I was in a home improvement store and saw these bright pink and Lime green vinal circles…then I went to work!! I painted my daughters room Chocolate brown…then I matched some paint with the pink and green circles. I painted 2 horizontal lines around the room, one pink and one green. I also had 2 shelves in her room that were just made out of trim and one was about 12 in higher than the other. I made one of the stripes cover 1 shelf and the other stripe went over the other shelf. It looked like her stuff floated on her stripes. Then I accented her room with a couple circles! It turned out soooo cool! My 11yr old LOVES it!!
I am most proud of a quilt made for me by my grandmother. One side is pieced out of my father’s ( he died when I was 1 yr old) silk ties and the other side is made of burgundy satin. It has lots of decorative stitching and is definitely one of a kind. My grandmother, who died about 10 years ago, was known for her sewing talents. I am honored to have such a special remembrance of them both.
I just love my Steinway and Sons baby grand piano! It has a room to itself and you can see it from my front doorway as you walk in the house. I themed the room the “music room”, and put music related paintings on the walls. My violin and guitar are also hanging on the walls. We even have a music themed menorah in there! I get so many comments on gorgeous the piano is in that room.
I’m most proud of the personal art we have on the walls…I’ve collected book prints with botanicals and handmade art is also around in various forms…our house is very personal and filled with personality because the art means something special to us.
We have this really neat kitchen table that has a built in- table level lazy susan…instead of passing the food around the table we just turn the center glass piece and it rotates the dishes…truely a guest surprise. Everyone comments on how fun it is not to mention convient on the warm dishes we pull out of the over to serve.
I bought the perfect bed covering that just makes the room pop. It has clean lines and extremely well made
Iam proudest of the paint color scheme I chose for the combination family room dining room area, this was my first experience with using accent colors and it came out better than I ever imagined. I used an area rug for inspiration and it looks great!
i am most proud of my daughter’s room. her zebra teen room is wonderful. it is painted deep purple and lavendar with hot pink and black accessories with the zebra print going on! she and her friends love it! she even has some partylite burning too!
I love, love, love my chair! No one else in my house likes it because it is so bold but that is exactly why it is my favorite! Red, Black and tiny gold stripes.. beautiful
i an most proud of the furniture i choose for my house 10 years ago still looks good today. i choose very simple and classic furniture and with a few changes to accessories throughout the year they have withstood the test of time. i also love my red chaise lounge in by bedroom.
I am quite proud of my kitchen. We bought a 30 year old house for a good deal with the task of bringing it up to par–which I LOVE doing. Probably the biggest upgrade to do was the kitchen. The cabintes were a very dark wood with the hammered bronze hardware and the most hideous orange and brown wallpaper. I couldn’t afford brand new cabinets, so I chose to paint them myself with new hardware. We had granite countertops put in VERY inexpensively, put in matching black appliances (except my refrigerator which is still white) and I painted it an awesome green. I will be posting it to rate my space as soon as I put the details on. I can’t wait to start on the bathrooms.
I am a recent empty nester trying to purge all the hand me down furniture, etc. Most proud of one bedroom recently decorated in blues and browns for a guest room. It is not cluttered and always clean.
My husband installed bottom up, top down
blinds in our family room, front room and dining room. It gives us light plus alot of privacy in each room, and the soft colors, of off white and off beige give us a wonderful glow with all our candles, anytime of the day.
I am very proud of my kitchen. I designed and reconfigured the existing kitchen and came up with an awesome look!
i love party lite!
Because I have 5 children all under the age of 10, I am most proud when I can keep my house clean! This is huge for us! I work full time days and my husband works full time night–just making a continuous effort to keep up with laundry, housework, and meals is enuf to make this momma feel good!
My daughter’s bedroom. We painted it two shade of green and it looks great!
I am most proud of the portraits that I have taken of my children. I’m currently trying to decide how to display them along our stair case wall. However, my best home project is my hand made headboard that matches my comforter, shams and curtains.
I am most proud of my several collections. I have a collection of Lenox Christmas Ornaments that all of the people in my family want. It took me 18 months to collect them and they have their own special box to keep them in and they are extremely unique. I also have an endangered species collection of figurines that donated $ to the endangered. I have a collection of Thomas Kinkade plates for all of the seasons. I have a sense of accomplishment when I complete a collection because I’m always thinking of who it will be handed down to.
I think the thing I am most proud of is a homemade fake fireplace my mom and I made. She came up with design she wanted and I put it all together. It sits in our foyer and is the highlight every Christmas. The stockings are hung from it and the fire place is lit every day a week before Christmas and till the day after new years. My dad always said he wanted a fireplace so mom and I decided to build him one. He was so proud of it and the day before he passed away he asked me to light it one more time for him because he loved it so much.
My bright red wall in my dining/living room with my Brazilian walnut hardwood floors. My husband liked everything an antiseptic white with beige carpet. The minute he moved out I went crazy with the red — my very favorite color and installed the floors!
I am most proud of my bedroom. It was sort of a whitewash flat color with a popcorn ceiling that was a real pain to clean. I replaced the ceiling with tiles from Talissa Decor, painted the walls sort of a mossy green (I have always been afraid of bold colors). I then found a bedframe on Freecycle and added some PartyLite accents. It turned out beautiful!
My entry door wrought iron artisan grillwork.
I’m most proud of our concrete countertops. My husband and I took the plunge and did them ourselves! It was scarey! But we did it and they are silky smooth and awesome! Anyone can do them if they take their time and do it right. Plus, you get to be as creative as you want.
my favorite part of my house is the dining room, it started when we bought our new dining room table and from there it’s turn into an italian delight. we have a map of Italy framed on the wall with grapes and wine bottle border around the ceiling. We’ve also added a few antiques along the way a large oversized globe and an antique bathing basin with completed working parts. this room also houses the “good” china in our antique china cabinet! It’s my favorite room in the house.
Thanks for listening!
I’m most proud of the beautiful kitchen that we designed ourselves. Is is absolutely the kitchen of my dreams and I am proud to show it off!
When my husband pulled our carpet out of the living room, he installed 16″x16″ terracotta tiles. Instead of installing them the traditional way (row by row) he added 6×6 tiles between them, and alternating the 16″x16″ to give it a more geometric look. It was a bit of a challenge especially since the 6×6 tiles were thicker than the other tiles. He made it all work and it looks beautiful. It also provides a much warmer look but cooler feeling to the room especially where the temperatures here in the southwest reach over 100 degrees. Everyone comments how beautiful it looks.
I am proud of my dining room. I have a glass table that came from my future mother-in-law and wood chairs, the walls are a Yellow color and a picture of the “last supper” hanging above the buffet table, which I stained.
I am most proud of my fantastic diplay of artwork from my two brothers and my husband;s aunt. My brother’s artwork are oils and acrylics ;and my husband’s aunt’s work is all watercolor. I also display my cretive silk and real flower arranging.
I’m most proud of my wall display of my kids and grandkids photos..The kids all pitched in for matching frames and with a wrought Iron peice some ribbon and a vinyl wall saying my favorite quote about family it turned out even better than I could dream…the most important pictures of my favorite people is the center of our home.
Our house shows who we are what we love. From family and friends to pastimes and hobbies, it’s all here and it’s our style: relaxed, fun, simple. I’m proud of that.
We just added a dining room on to our kitchen and I have always wanted a bay window with a window seat. Everything is completed expect the flooring and the bay window is more beautiful than I could have imagined!!! It is the most relaxing place in the house!!
