While the team is getting ready for tomorrow’s shopping spree across Route 127, we thought it would be fun to put together a little wishlist of things we’re hoping to see or buy.  Along with the usual oddities, assorted jerkied meats, and roadside signage, here’s what we’re hoping to encounter on our roadtrip along The World’s Longest Yardsale.

  1. Old school Yankees memorabilia
  2. Class Disney item
  3. Portrait of Elvis on something non-traditional
  4. Some kind of meat on a stick
  5. Promotional item for a beer no longer made

  1. Rotary phones from the 60s and 70s
  2. Antique rolling pins
  3. Antique linens
  4. Memorabilia from old Westerns
  5. An original U2 poster from War or Boy

  1. Stained glass art piece
  2. Antique bird book with illustrations
  3. Great vintage purse
  4. Cool (and clean) baby clothes
  5. Vintage kitchen item

We want to know what some of the coolest and oddest pieces you’ve ever picked up at a yard sale.  Leave us a comment below to let us know!

Also, be sure to come back tomorrow for updates on our adventures.  We’ll be updating the blog throughout the day and Tweeting from our twitter account @HGTVDecorating.

I live in the county where it all got started (Fentress Co. Tn). In the beginning it was very exciting, but after all these years, some of the locals, including me, have grown tired of the crowds and traffic jams. We do appreciate the revenue and the tourist, but it is somewhat of a headache on these two lane narrow rural roads. I usually try to stay home and avoid the hassle during that week.

But I wish you luck on your wish list…I am sure you will find what you are looking for and then some.

I love to find old bottles, buttons, frames, photos and furniture to paint!

  4. This is my first time. I am hoping to find a small trunk and a nice China set. I should have brought some stuff from home. I have two old dial phones and lots of old bottles!
