It’s all about comfort, right? I received a copy of The Comfortable Home from Clarkson Potter Publishers a little while ago and have been delving into Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams’ cozy, sophisticated style ever since.
Not only does this book highlight how to create a relaxing home, but it also takes a comfortable look at your budget and how the current economy will change the way we live in our homes for years to come.
From the planning stages to inspirational ideas for your own space, The Comfortable Home sets you up for a successful decorating adventure. Plus, Mitchell and Williams offer helpful tips for all the home elements from color and upholstery to lighting and window treatments.
One of my favorite sections of the book is the different floor plans for each area of the home: entryway, living room, dining room and bedroom. I know that’s usually the toughest part when I’m decorating, so having six different layouts per room is incredibly helpful.
Other notable sections are “The Essentials,” which details the perfect pieces for each room of your home and “One Room, Two Ways,” which shows two distinct ideas for decorating a space. Full of beautiful photos and unique ideas, The Comfortable Home is an easy-to-read guide on creating the welcoming home of your dreams.
