Saffron_Marigold_Table_RunnerWe’re happy to announce that Freebie Fridays are back!  For anyone who missed our last round of Freebies, each week we’ll post a question here on Design Happens on Friday.  You have until 12 Noon ET on Monday to comment on this post with a valid email address and you’re entered for that week’s giveaway.  It’s that simple!

We’ve partnered with Saffron Marigold to kick off this new round of Freebie Fridays.  They describe themselves as “cozy boutique, home to an exquisite collection of exotic, unique, designer handcrafted, India inspired bedding and linens.”  Their commitment to fair trade and use of eco-friendly products really impressed us here at Design Happens.  Saffron Marigold is offering this week’s winner their choice of any table runner featured on their site.

This week we want to know – What’s normally on your dining table when you’re NOT expecting company? Is it always neat and tidy with a bowl of fruit and some candlesticks? Or are you like me and its normally covered in the last week’s worth of mail and maybe a cat or two?

Answer before 12 Noon ET on Monday.  Click here for the Official Rules

Junk mail, my purse, charging cell phone & random bottles of half- full Vitamin Water.

there's usually a bowl of fruit — although the bowl is only half full because i'm always stealing apples out of it — and and mail. so much mail! we get too many magazines, and i hate to shuffle them away until i've at least had a glimpse. also, lately, a box or two from online shopping experiments that needs to go out back to the recycling bin. :)

  3. Linda says:

Laptop, keys, mail, bills, coats & empty boxes waiting for recycle day

  4. Marion says:

Usually the mail and a cake or two I'm trying to pawn off on friends!

I do not have a dining room table, my fairly small, but on my kitchen table is keep very clean with nothing on it at.

  6. Elizabeth says:

Our dining room table is pretty clean – A few candle sticks, a vase filled with remnant from my tissue-paper flower making days. This is due entirely to my husband's commitment to organization. My favorite table-top decoration is when our cat climbs up there to taunt our dog, who has to sit out on the back porch while we're at work.

  7. Maureen says:

On the table right now is the grocery list of what needs to be bought. The grocery flyers, a bowl that usually has fruit in it but right now there isn't any fruit and then items I need to either rtn or bring to someone else.__

  8. Jen says:

It's mostly clean with a vase as the centerpiece, but sometimes has mail, my purse and paw prints on it. You know, the usual.

  9. Cathy M says:

All of the mail and usually some toys, since the kids like to play there.

Luckily we all sit and eat as a family on most days of the week, so I am proud to say that there are food stains and crumbs about. Plus, when she thinks we aren't looking our cat jumps on the table to stare out at the birds on the feeder.
