Saffron_Marigold_Table_RunnerWe’re happy to announce that Freebie Fridays are back!  For anyone who missed our last round of Freebies, each week we’ll post a question here on Design Happens on Friday.  You have until 12 Noon ET on Monday to comment on this post with a valid email address and you’re entered for that week’s giveaway.  It’s that simple!

We’ve partnered with Saffron Marigold to kick off this new round of Freebie Fridays.  They describe themselves as “cozy boutique, home to an exquisite collection of exotic, unique, designer handcrafted, India inspired bedding and linens.”  Their commitment to fair trade and use of eco-friendly products really impressed us here at Design Happens.  Saffron Marigold is offering this week’s winner their choice of any table runner featured on their site.

This week we want to know – What’s normally on your dining table when you’re NOT expecting company? Is it always neat and tidy with a bowl of fruit and some candlesticks? Or are you like me and its normally covered in the last week’s worth of mail and maybe a cat or two?

Answer before 12 Noon ET on Monday.  Click here for the Official Rules

My table is always set and ready for guests. Table placemats with napkins and a single candle in the middle.

I have two tables, so both. Breakfast table in kitchen is usually covered in mail and magazines with clean up on days off. the dining room table is usually neat and tidy with placemats, table runner, bowl of fruit, pitcher, charges and plates with napkins. it makes me happy to walk in after a long day to see it makes me feel like my home is cozy and warm and inviting.

Sometimes is neat and clean, with apples or flowers on the center of the table. However, most days the dinner talble is covered with toys (legos) or half finished projects my 4 year old son is working on.

  8. Kelly says:

My table is home to my laptop 24/7. There are also some beautiful candles and some…artwork from my 5 year old, my phone, legal documents, mini binoculars, a Zhu Zhu pet, a Star Wars lego space ship, and a winter hat. Yeah–a bit cluttered.

Although there IS a definite centerpiece – wrought iron stand, glass bowl with stones and lovely candle, there is also today's mail, and the daily newspaper. Tonight we read through the "daily stuff" and it returns to our
    uncluttered dining table…until tomorrow :)

a finished puzzle and a tray that needs to be fashioned right to belong on a dining table.
