WaterWeek AluminumAnother Friday, another freebie! You have until 12 noon ET on Monday, February 8, to comment on this post with a valid email address and you’ll be entered for a chance to win.

This week we’re bringing a little green to your weekend with some help from our friends at REDUCE. Their WaterWeek system brings an end to the wasteful and expensive habit of purchasing bottled water. According to REDUCE, “WaterWeek is the ONLY true solution for consumers to end the wasteful and costly purchasing of bottled water, saving them over $500 a year!“ Just fill the 16 oz. BPA-free bottles at the beginning of the week and stash them in your fridge in the convenient tray. With WaterWeek there’s no need to buy water on the way to work or when heading to the gym.

This week, we want to know: What your plans are to be more eco-friendly in 2010? Are you finally getting around to swapping out your incandescent bulbs to CFLs? Maybe doing some upgrades around the house to take advantage of tax credits? Let us know in the comments. You have until 12 noon ET on Monday to answer. Click here for the Official Rules

I've been meaning to pick up a couple BPA-free bottles…just need to make a point of it. These look great; would be just perfect for when I go to the gym or travel!!

  8. Briana says:

My plans to be more eco friendly this year are to start conserving on my energy usage. I have never really paid much attention to how much I run my gas and my electricity but this year I plan to begin conserving.

  9. Ali B says:

we have changed our light bulbs out , and bought energy star products, I made two rain barrels, and my husband put on/off fixtures on them so I can connect my garden hose to water flowers and a small garden. I have started making my older pets bed pillows, that I Make , or, I purchase soft flannel pillow cases with cute dog or kitty print and stuff with the plastic grocery bags , or the plastic that comes over the clothes from the cleaners, which is very soft, I can make it as puffy as I need by adding more bags. I based up the end and then,.. whola! they have a cute pillow that holds their body heat from the plastic , for their arthritic hip pain and joints . I Named the Pillow after my lovely furry baby , " The Snookie Pillow " she loves it , Its Really quite cute, and it helps to keep the grocery bags out of the land fill.

  10. Vera says:

  11. Leigh Ann says:

    they are all super cute!!!

  12. katydidn't says:

What a great idea, but I think I'd need to leash the lid somehow. A larger size would be good though, then I wouldn't have to take more than one with me to get me through the day.

  13. Robb says:

We're all about being green at our house, so we could always use a few more water bottles…

  14. Julie says:

Cool! Great for kids at school!

  15. Shelagh says:

These would be a great addition to my bottles. I would have enough for everyone in the house to have a bottle ready to go each day!

  16. kananilehua says:

Mahalo for these eco friendly water bottles. I have, often times, refilled water bottles – washed them out and re-used them. There is a bill before our County Council to ban the use of plastic grocery bags from all of the major grocery stores in Hawaii County. I hope this bill passes because, just like the water bottles, plastic bags have become a nuisance.

  19. Mai Chu says:

To be more eco-friendly this year, I'm going to bring my cloth bags to use in stores and not have my purchases bagged in plastic or paper.

  20. Are these aluminum? That would be toxic???

  21. Sharon Norris says:

    Coll bottles!

  22. Kate says:

    Cool. Cute colors too :)

  23. mary pickerell says:

    super cool!

  24. Phyllis says:

First of all I love the water bottles and the idea that goes with them. Good way to get kids to drink more water too. Around our house we are more aware of the little things like turning off lights when we leave a room, or not using heat or air on days when weather permits. Also all new purchases are made with using less energy but gaining more efficiency in mind. We love the tax credits that go with them. Our electric bills have dropped tremendously.

  25. klaney2002 says:

Wonderful idea and so stylish! I love it!

  26. Stacey Baker says:

I love all green improvements everywhere. My Mom taught me to garden organically when I was a kid and since I'm allergic to many major brand household cleaners…I'm thrilled to see more environmentally friendly replacements on the market! My partner and I recently moved out to RURAL Central PA from suburban Illinois and we're reveling in the interest this area has on the "shop local" movement, the huge popularity of "free-cycle" and our big recycle center in State College. I live about twenty minutes north of State College in a town that's smack-dab in the middle of a large state park and the conservancy and awareness efforts out here are amazing!

  27. Gabrielle says:

I use the CFL bulbs, I drive a fuel efficient, low emissions vehicle, I recycle and I'm vegan, but my biggest issue is with packaging. I am resolving to consume less packaged products that in turn require recycling. One of the hardest parts of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, for me, is the Reducing. But I am working on it!

    These water bottles look great!

    • Ali B says:

That's Great Gabrielle, I feel the same way , that's what so nice about this give away , It does help us to become more aware of this need to get in the habit of " thinking "more about our earth, and that helps more than we know , and that's all we can do, is Just Keep Trying , I too , am getting better, I do need to stop buying bottled water, appreciate your comment . Cheers for our earth, and thanks to HGTV for this encouraging Reminder.

  28. I love the retro looking bottle, the one with the squares.

  34. JustCitten says:

I love the idea behind these bottles. They are pretty and practical. I can save the planet and stay healthy too!

  35. Kendall says:

This is a lovely idea~ I have one (NOT this brand), but the lining inside is starting to wear it looks like, so I stopped using it. I'm living green in a way now. My dorm is actually made with green materials and uses energy efficient appliances! I'm glad my school stepped up to help the environment!!!

  36. DebiEldridge says:

    Great idea. They're attractive too.

  37. Wendy says:

I'm recycling. Working on getting my boyfriend to recycle too.

  38. Sunset Lady says:

  39. emythaf says:

    pretty!

  40. Kim says:

I love those reusable bottles. They are great when day tripping or hiking cause you don't have to worry about the casing accidentally breaking if you drop it like you sometimes have to on regular water bottles or ever refillable plastic bottles.

  41. Tink57 says:

I love these bottles. They have a great design, eco-frinedly, and saves money. Did you notice the lid. It is great for hanging on to something when on the go. Example- stroller, belt purse. bike. These bottles are cool I would buy one.

  42. Kimberly Kozabo says:

These Bottles are great! I stopped buying bottled water. now I can take my water with me again!!

  43. redeifur says:

Besides the cool design and the safe plastic they are made from, the thing I like best about the Eco Water Bottles is the fact that my young teen will be attracted to them. She likes to be a trendsetter and she'll use the bottles for her health and for the "raves" she'll get from her friends in the school cafeteria.

I am always looking for presents for birthday gift bags. What a great present for my teen's friends.

  44. Jo3R says:

Bravo, it's about time someone is doing someting. Water bottles are such a waste, let alone the money that is wasted by buying water. If you don't like the taste of your water, get a filter. Hopefully soon people will start bringing in their own commuter coffee cups that can be refilled.

  45. Hannah says:

    These are fantastic!

  46. khoner says:

I would love to have these bottles for each of my 4 boys when they go outside to play, so they wont keep running in and out of the house to get water. Of course I would keep one for myself for those workouts I am SUPPOSED to be doing ;)

  47. mydream49 says:

I use my plastic bottles every day, but these are MUCH nicer! I love em all!! :) TOO CUTE!

  48. Sheila says:

    I love these!!

  49. Kelly says:

Love these–my puppy will be sad that his owners are going green, since he LOVES our empty plastic water bottles, but it's a great move to make! We've also tried to be aware of the home improvements that we've made this year–energy efficient appliances and windows, but also the "little" things: light bulbs, paint choices, etc. We would, still, love to continue to be earth-conscious with these adorable water bottles!! :)
