design-happens-freebies-easy-arranger370x400Thank goodness for Fridays! Thank goodness for fresh-cut flowers, too!  One of my fondest memories of my grandmother is helping her cut and arrange the gorgeous gladiolas she cultivated for years.

I wish a product like the Easy Arranger had been around when I was trying to cram those long stems into vases! We love Annabelle Noel Designs’ Easy Arranger because it makes floral arrangement easy, fun and beautiful. The flexible, bendable grid allows flowers room to breathe and can be stretched and bent to fit whatever design you are creating.

This week we’re giving you the chance to win one 5-inch Easy Arranger and a set of Dangles attachable gems in champagne color. All you have to do is answer this week’s question before 12/11c, Monday, March 22. Be sure to provide a valid email address so we can contact you if you win.

This week we want to know: What’s your favorite springtime flower? Does the site of yellow daffodils peeking up through the frost send you into horticultural overdrive? Does a field of multi-colored tulips make you want to catch a flight to Amsterdam? You have until 12/11c on Monday to answer. Click here for the official rules.

When I see the crocus popping out of the ground I know the robins will arrive soon. My mother always told me that the first thunderstorm of spring, God is waking everything up from their winter nap and its true. Usually after the first sounds of thunder, crocus burst out and then everything else follows.

Nothing makes me smile quite like DAISIES!!!

Yellow Daffodils! I would much rather have a bunch of Daffodils than roses any day. Don’t get me wrong, roses are pretty but Daffodils are like a big burst of sunshine after a cold, dreary winter!

  4. Nanakitteh says:

My favorite flowers are yellow roses and hibiscus, but they don't bloom until later. In the meantime I enjoy planting moss roses, verbena and impatiens.

  5. jfelger88 says:

The yellow daffodils growing next to my front porch just make me smile every time I walk by.

I love all flowers but there is just something special about Pansys! Besides the colors which just do something for me when they are set in a flower box they look like puppy dogs with happy faces waiting for me. I just love them.

  7. zooladyplay says:

We don't really have spring flowers here in the desert but believe it or not we had a for real dandelion growning in our cactus bed and it was a sure sign of spring for me.

  8. Carol says:

    Buttercups

  9. amy says:

I would have to say that even though I love forsythia and daffodils and all the other bright and cheery flowers of spring, I adore the flowering quince or cherry blossoms. They are rosy and joyful and prolific and that is what encompasses spring for me.

  10. Vickie says:

Purple Iris is so lovely at this time of year, it reminds me of when I was growing up.

  11. Brenda says:

Daisies, I had them in my wedding bouquet 29 1/2 years ago and my daughter-in-law had them in hers in September, makes them really special to me…….

  12. Thespyan says:

I was just brought some lovely purple Freesias last night. Beautiful color. Nice scent. My favorite in the Spring still has to be seeing and smelling Jasmine. I used to have it at the house I used to own in Van Nuys, CA, and miss it terribly.

  13. Lindigo says:

The only plant I am allergic to is nevertheless my favorite spring flower: Tulips in every variety. They aren't around for long, but when they are gone for the year, I enjoy them in paintings and botanical prints.

  14. Barb Johnsen says:

My Johnny-Jump Ups. They are the first to actually bloom, planted next to my pond. They have spread so nicely. Purple against fresh green grass surrounded by rock……..lovely!

  15. stoddma says:

Iris – the colors are beautiful – reminds me of my mother who used to have a huge garden of iris, some direct descendents of iris from my great-grandmother. I remember Mom hoping that the iris would last until Memorial Day & then she would make bouquets to take to the cemetary to share with grandma.

  16. debbie marx says:

every flower is a good flower.but pansy tickle my fancy with those happy little faces.tulips and easter lilys are the signs of a new beginning and who doesnt love a fresh new start.

  17. BHrenda Ali says:

I love, love the Calla Lily(Easter Lily because it really symbolizes the Easter season. They are in so many colors but my garden is full of the white. Very majestic! Perfect!

  18. Tulips are my favorite, mostly because they come in so many colors

  19. Teri says:

Hyacinths are my favorite. The scent is heavenly! The colors are so bright and cheerful here in the grey, gloomy Northwest.

  20. DAISIES! They are the sweetest, simplest flower I know of. I can't help but smile when I see them, even the random wild versions that grow along sidewalks

  21. KathyPab1 says:

Hyacinths for their wonderful fragrance and puple Pansies always make me smile:). That means Spring is here for sure!

  22. Marty says:

Lilacs…as a child, the fragrace of the lilac blossoms wafted up unto my bedroom…from a huge, ancient lilac bush!

  23. Sarah Young says:

I am going with Crocus. They are usually up first (at least in my yard) and that gets me revved up and eager to get out digging ,planting and playing in my garden, flower beds and yard.

  24. Ann Hawley says:

All these spring flowers are so beautiful and lift your spirits after a cold dark winter. It is new life springing forth as our designer planned. There is something magic about a bed of bright yellow daffodils. I love it.

  25. mary says:

Spring! Don't we all love spring: the smell of the air, the grass turning green, the robins, the flowers in the shops ready for sale, the people working in the yards, families going for bike rides. The list could just go on. I love tulips because I am Dutch and I remember when I was a little girl growing up on the farm my mom would grow lots of tulips and they were just beautiful. I also love to go to the Tulip Festival . But I do call my daughter a nickname and it is Buttercup, so I guess I love buttercups too.

  26. Gene Young says:

I am going to stick with tulips. Up here they may be arriving a bit later but the color and the look are just astounding. There is even a nearby tulip festival and wow does it ever pop.

  27. Katie says:

Stargazer Lillys are my favorite and remind me of my beautiful spring wedding day.

  28. My favorite flower in Spring is the yellow jonquil because it is a vibrant color that signals the beginning of new growth and change in seasons but it also was my great great grandmother's favorite. She came to Texas from South Carolina after the Civil War and planted jonquils in her garden after getting settled in her new home. While the old farmhouse has deteriorated and disappeared after all these years, I can still identify the land where it once stood by the yellow jonquils which reappear every Spring. I look forward to this event every year and sharing the joy with my children.

  29. Joanne says:

Hyacinths are my favorite spring flowers. The beautiful pink and purple colors are a sight to see after a gray winter. They smell wonderful too!

  30. artofthespa says:

Jasmine – they are not only beautiful but so fragrant – one inhalation and I've totally sprung into spring! Spa wishes, Candy

  31. Patti says:

The Crocus…all different colors coming up thru the snow..what a sight for someone who is tired of winter!

  32. Yvette says:

My favorite springtime flower would be daffodils but I love to see the dogwood blossoms everywhere here in East Texas!

  33. kwallca says:

The Crocus! Because it will come up first, right through the snow.

  34. janeska says:

I get spring fever when I see all my little crocuses popping their heads up through the ground. Whenever and whereever I see them I know it's time to get my gardening tools ready and I can hardly wait. Actually any changes in color in plants makes me joyous. there's a willow tree across the street that is turning a golden yellow, buds coming out on my liliacs and roses, daffodils and tulips starting to show, lavender buds, etc. I just LOVE spring. Saw my first robin last night too. God is good this time of year!

  35. gingrpchy says:

I love tulips for their simple lines.

  36. Nancy says:

Cherry Blossoms mean the beginning of spring, and they are the most abundant flower anywhere, you don't just get one at a time, you get whole clouds of the beautiful blooms.

  37. Melody says:

As a child I remember my grandmother having a bottle of Avon Lilac cream perfume. To this day the smell of fresh spring lilacs brings back the fondest memories of snuggleing in her tender arms. I love the lilacs so much that I have planted my entire yard with them and want more but am running out of yard!! Maybe I can plant the driveway next!! Anyhow, to answer your next question……….Yes, daffodiles always give me a high in spring. They make me realize that there is hope for a new beginning. Just as winter ends and daffodiles rise above the frozen earth, so too does life come from bleak moments and into new and wonderful experiences. For your final question, no, tulips don't make me want to hop a plane to Amsterdam. They make me want to hop a bus to Ottowa Canada for their annual tulp festival. Such fond memories of my last visit there.

  38. Melissa Stuart says:

It's hard to pick one flower, b/c all of them together give the wonderful feel of spring! But I must say that I love when my Lilac tree starts to come to life… BEAUTIFUL!

  39. Shy Jo says:

Pansies with their cute little faces are my arbiters of spring. Every bloom seems to say a friendly "hello"!

  40. Loribeth says:

My favorite spring flowers are Lilacs. It isn't spring until their scent fills the air.

  41. Sharon Norris says:

Daffodils are my favorite flowers all the time.

  42. Andrea Gieke says:

I love all flowers and it’s hard to choose just one! If I have to pick it would be tulips because it’s my first memory of flowers. I can remember them the most when I was a little girl. My grandmother loves flowers too and she had a lot of them and other flowers too, which meant for me as a little girl a lot of flowers to pick : )

  43. Kristy Tracy says:

Lilacs are my very favorite spring flower. I live in a northern climate and their beautiful scent, even with a bit of late snowfall, promises winter will soon be over.

  44. Jolaine says:

Spring flower…hyacinth…there is some in the yard right now…my first BRAVE spring flower! Smells fantastic and encouraged me to get rolling and buy some pansies…my second fav.

  45. ckatgo says:

I love Peonies as my favorite Spring flowers. Their large, fragrant flowers are hardy, need little care which is good for me, and the live through harsh winters, or winters of any kind. They also make really nice cut flowers!

  46. Kathy says:

Definitely Daffodils! Where I live in Western North Carolina you can tell where there used to be old homes (now gone) by the lovely and lonely daffodil patches in the woods and pastures. I am sure that those little flowers were thoroughly enjoyed by those brave pioneers and how the children must have picked bouqets for their admiring moms.

  47. I Love peonies…they are my favorite spring flowers & they smell great!

  48. Karen Balliett says:

My favorites are Sweet Peas. The riot of colors and the sweet perfume always reminds me of my mom. She was quite the gardener and had sweet peas lining the front porch rail every spring here in Arizona. I miss her every day and always have a bunch in the center of the table in the spring! I'm a florist and I just have to have some of those Easy Arrangers! Thanks for the link.
