When a talented designer is involved, the most basic household items can become ultra-stylish. That’s what happened when designer P.Waiwiriya got creative with everyday clothes pins. (You know — the kind that never get used for laundry but always hold your bag of tortilla chips closed?)
This week, we’re giving you the chance to win two sets of these whimsical clips available through the Museum of Modern Art’s MoMA Store – 32 clips total. Dusting definitely needs a make-over! I can't stand dusting but I might like it more if I had some stylish and eco-friendly way to do it.
Trash Can! I rarely see a pretty trash can that is functional.
Revamp the toilet brush, please!
A stylish, yet easy to clean mop would be great
How about my gardening hose! Ever seen a pink hose to match my pink petunias. I think that would be pretty neat. And a comfortable and stylish attachment to go with it. That way when I water my garden everything around me is chic!!
I was thinking baby wipe containers. Everything else comes in such cute little containers why not wipes? And I tried decorating one myself but it was rather difficult since it wasn’t a perfect rectangle.
I would love an outstanding "over-the-top" soap dish. I have one at my kitchen sink to hold a pot a pot-scrubber. When I bought it I remembering thinking I want somehting with a "wow-factor". It's stainless and oval… the wow factor has worn.
I think we need something stylish to store baby formula and clean bottles. There IS such a thing as a baby formula dispenser, but its plastic and ugly. I'd like a dispenser that is sleek & stylish and is functional with one hand. Maybe in one spount it pours nursery water (or bottled water) and the other spout dispenses the formula. Would make my countertops a little less….um…..cluttered? I hope this falls inder the category of "everyday item" with you- because as mothers, this is an everyday MUST. And let's face it- your core audience is people like me.
dish racks…they make the kitchen look so cluttered
Toothbrushes need a severe style make-over. Toothbrushes all come in the same boring shape, no flare. The most excitement we get out of our toothbruses is a change in colour, or if they scrap our tongues too. Give me style every morning, afternoon and night, while I keep my teeth pearly white!!

Would like a scrub brush or equivelant to scrub my shower stall that has a bubbled floor and nothing can get the scum out of it, wish I could get some help with that.
The toaster!!! Something that sits out all the time should be cuter not so cold looking.
Monitor stands. I'd like to prop up my computer monitor in style.
sponges, dishtowels or at least something to wipe the counters stlyish , and useful. somethiung I wouldn't mind leaving out.
I think there needs to be some way to store baby bottles. We keep them in a big tupperware dish that sits on our deep freeze in the kitchen. Every time we need in the freezer (for ice or anything else), we have to move the bottles out of the way. Also, strainers for cooked noodles/meat and the drying rack for dishes would be great. They are just so bland. We use them almost every day, but they are so plain and such an eye sore.
laundry baskets ofcourse.so much can be done yet we are stuck with wicker. beautiful wicker yet it is so vanilla! we can have a makeover there!
Plunger! Nasty thing, it needs something nice to hide in!!
Wendy
I would like to see someone put longer legs on the back of a electric griddle, so the grease runs into the
tray to catch it…i put paper towels on the back legs now…just a little elevation so the pancakes would run…b
The everyday item I think needs a design makeover is..well, I think 2 items need it – the plunger and the toilet-bowl brush!
Garage door openers need a style makeover. They are UGLY.
Laundry baskets have to travel with us all through the house.. So if they look nice, we won't have to be embarassed when we have unexpected company.
I think those items you use everyday,Say your going to update your kitchen in a blue or red and spend all kinds of money.Matching cupboards and curtains.Bowls, dishes, cups and everything else. Then you have your choice of black or white for the toaster, coffee pot.It would be nice to see a blue coffee pot in a slim design.Or something of the sort for design element.Lets have the appliances match the curtains for once.
I would love to see a beautiful office stapler. I have to use mine 1,000 times a day, so it would be nice if it looked fancy and interesting.
Hampers
i think broom and dustpan also but my biggie is the toilet items..gotta be betterway to look better or hide with class.
How about a stylish kitchen trash can that is easy to use and is functional? The bags never fit my trash cans and they are always hard to pull out, once full.
I think teapots could use a style make over. My family drinks tea all throughout the day and I think something that is so important in our lives should be an expression of who we are, not just a pink, green or stainless steel pot, but something with a cool design or anything along those lines. Just a thought.
Mailboxes need a makeover!
I agree with one blogger..we need a toilet brush that is stylish yet not so expensive, I throw mine away after a couple of months even if I do disinfect it after it's use..plese come up with somethin gnice and INEXPENSIVE under 15 would be great..or an inter brush in a designed canister that can unscrew and be replaced easily..oh and that cmes in nice colors too………
Kitchen Garbage Can. ICK!! lol =)
I would have to say Toilet scrubbers, plungers, and storage for all those cleaners. It would be nice if they all fit in with our bathroom decor….
the toaster! design one that toasts horizontally and either attaches to or is built in under the microwave so no more counter clutter!
It is definitely the bathroom tools, they are an eye sore beside the toilet.
I think it needs to be something you can hide away. Brooms and toilet cleaners you can hide when you're not using them.
So how about trash cans? The ones you hide under the sink are never large enough.
I would like to see a device that you can use to unload your groceries on to make one trip into the house with you trunk load!! Especially good for people who are older or handicapped.
Make over litter boxes!! Mops, Brooms. Allof those kind of things!!
and better functionality….often they aren't so efficient, in both the 'squeeze' factor and the mop head itself.
I think garage door openers they are so big and ugly. Also toliet paper holders who really wants to see a big roll of toliet paper hanging on the wall.
That is not suppose to be a hard questionbut the more i think about it the harder it becomes. Most all ever day things could use a little make over. But I guess I will have to say for me the bathroom cleaning products could use a little pick me up. Cleaning the bath can be so boring.
What needs a style makeover…toilet cleaning products. Toilet brush or plunger.
I would like to see the cooktop re-designed, they are boring squares and rectangles…let's see some swoops and curves.
I would really love to see useful organization tools made over!!! i love my mop and broom holder ( you know the ugly white plastic with grey rubber broom holders) but they look so tacky! I would love to see some cute shelves, drawers, or bins to really make the pantry pop! i have an open pantry and open cupboards… no matter how neat and organized I am, it looks terrible!! Make my pantry pop! ( and kitchen cupboards… let's get some nice stylish designs for organization!)
Placemats need an updating. The placemats made of cloth aren't practical for most of us. Vinyl ones look great and then turn up at the edges when they come in contact with hot plates and never look clean again no matter how much elbow grease is used. Price doesn't seem to matter in this regard. Help!
I'm short, so step stools ~ that's an everyday item for me!
Kitchen appliances, those we tend to leave on the counter: toaster, can opener- would be great if they looked stylish instead of cluttered.
Microwaves could use a little makover…then maybe people won't have to hide them
The dish drainer! They are so ugly. Also if they could be easier to keep clean that would be great.
I'd like to see the electric pencil sharpener given a new look. Get rid of the ugly, dark plastic & streamline it.
The kitchen's wooden spoon needs a style makeover. I thank you and my spoon thanks you!
I think my laundry baskets and toliet bowel cleaners need a make over. Also, my vaccum cleaner and broom. Lastly my iron board and iron.
