  3. Mona Lisa – She is beautiful in person but smirky out of context!

Capri on May 7, 2010 at 10:05 PM
  4. The Scream, Starry Night and Monet's Waterlillies they are so commericalized it is sad.__They loose their impact – and they are not even good on most items colors are wrong – they are cropped – ahhhhhh! But my biggest pet peeve is that idiot painter of light – YUCK.

  5. I would have to agree that anything 'Monet' is way overdone as well as Starry Night…

  6. You will die……the one with those dogs playing poker!!! Next, the Mona Lisa…..sick of them both!!!!

  7. My 17 year old loves Starry night, and she made a pencil "copy" of it, that took months. It did come lovely, but now she's getting Starry night dart flights, starry night earrings, mouse pad, she wants to do her sneakers as well. Maybe just a little much of a good thing, lol.

  8. Don't get me wrong…I love Andy Warhol but how many times can we keep seeing that same pop art of Marilyn Monroe?

Jennifer Hughes on May 7, 2010 at 6:34 PM
  9. I have to agree on Munch's "the Scream" . It should have stayed stolen and the thief should have pleaded insanity because anyone who would steal that painting has to be crazy..

  11. Definitely the Mona Lisa. It's just a portrait. I don't understand why it's supposed to be such a big deal.

vstark on May 7, 2010 at 10:35 PM
  12. The Scream…it's everywhere…looking for something original. There's enough beautiful art out there that the same ones shouldn't have to be used over and over again.

  13. Dance Me to the End of Love, definately, used to love it

  14. i believe DaVinci is probably rolling over in his grave about some of the cheesy ads using his Mona Lisa. But maybe not since they have helped make it even more famous (if that's even possible) and recognized by everyone including young children after all these years. They've even had Lucy from Peanuts made up as Mona Lisa.

Jesscejo on May 7, 2010 at 10:54 PM
  15. I have seen Monet's- Waterlilies TOO many times! And Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh… Ugg.

  17. AHHHHHHHH!!!!! THE SCREAM!!!!!

Laura Kratochvil on May 7, 2010 at 7:56 PM
  18. The four I am getting so tired of seeing are The Scream – Munch – Marily Monrow – A. Warhol – Mona Lisa – DiVincci – Edward Hopper – The Dinner Scene – They seam to be played and played and played over and over again for every product under the SUN – why can't add executives who spend millions a year pay a artist to come up with a original painting – almost in the Pulp style of yester year to do a new an inovative campaign I'm sure we have all herd of the expression that imititation is the kindness form of flattery – but when you are consistently bombarded with it – well it just become anoying to say the least – Jan

  19. The Scream. And anything related to the Dogs Playing Poker by Coolidge. Seriously… its lame.

  21. Good call on Starry Night. I get it, it's beautiful but now it's ruined. Thanks.

  22. ANYTHING Thoma Kincaid!!! I mean his art is on everything!!! From place-mats to Christmas ornaments ! You can't hardly walk in a store without seeing and Thomas Kincaid waterfall, Clock, Kitchen towel, Postcard or you name it. Thank You! divaterry1@yahoo.com

  23. I don't really care for the self-portraits of Frida Kahlo. It seems like they are on jewelry, t-shirts, posters. She was a great artist but she wasn't that attractive. I don't want any pictures of her up in my house.

Amy Lipetzky on May 7, 2010 at 8:33 PM
  24. If there were any artwork that is overdone, it would have to be the painting of the 'Mona Lisa'.
It transcends generations and cultures. Anywhere you go in the world, almost everyone is familiar with that image. It's used in every genre from print work to commercials and more!

Olga on May 7, 2010 at 8:33 PM
  25. da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

Katie on May 8, 2010 at 12:41 AM

  29. American Gothic! So overdone, even in Canada!

    @Brat2b4u on May 8, 2010 at 12:57 AM
  30. Claude Monet: Water Lily Pond is just about everywhere, on everything from doormats to coasters for your table.

Joanne on May 8, 2010 at 1:06 AM
  31. I can' t name a specific painting, but I would have to say the Thomas Kincaide paintings in general. I know many people find them very beautiful and inspiring, but I don't. I seldom like things, including paintings, that are too "perfect", and I think that is what bothers me about TK's work.

Claire Watson on May 8, 2010 at 1:14 AM
  32. Thomas Kincaid. although he's very talented and his work is beautiful. It's definately over rated.

Patti on May 7, 2010 at 9:27 PM
  33. I'm so over seeing "The Scream" on everything from coffee mugs to T shirts–Please stop!

    Nancy J. on May 7, 2010 at 9:27 PM
  34. Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night" even though I still like it!

jo evans on May 7, 2010 at 9:36 PM
  35. i would have to say starry night.

bridget on May 8, 2010 at 2:00 AM
  36. I really don't care for 'The Scream!" Andy Warhol's 'Marilyn Monroe" has got to go! Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" are everywhere! On the other hand there's a new generation of people that have never experienced such beautiful masterpieces!! Some things will never go away which might be a good thing!!!

Edith Schwab on May 8, 2010 at 2:17 AM
  37. A few beautiful pieces of art that have suffered as a result of overexposure are:

*Durer's – Praying Hands: Gorgeous 15th century art that has lost its simplicity and beauty because you see these hands on anything even remotely religious!

Georgia O'Keeffe: ANY Flower! Maybe it's because I'm from WI (where she was born), but these flowers are EVERYWHERE! And although they beautiful, she also did other artwork that was much better!

    Just my opinions!

  43. I love sunflowers they make me smile but Van Gogh made sunflowers look sad. More like Sullenflowers.

Carol on May 8, 2010 at 12:34 AM
  44. My vote is for the Cherubs-Les Angles by Raffael, which has been made into checks, check book covers, bedding etc….too much stuff!

Mary Younger on May 8, 2010 at 12:45 AM
  45. Thomas Kinkade's Stillwater Cottage is on cups, notepaper, plates and clocks, even Advent Calendars. It is so saccrine and overproduced. His technique is incredible, but one is enough, please.

Barbara on May 8, 2010 at 1:04 AM
  46. Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

Cindy Harlow on May 8, 2010 at 1:35 AM
  47. I like the painting but I don't like that I see it everywhere: Picasso's Hand with Flowers

Karan on May 8, 2010 at 5:45 AM
  48. The colored pop art prints of Andy Warhol. Marilyn Monore….fine, but my neighbor's dog??? Really??

Lona on May 8, 2010 at 2:53 AM
  49. Anything by Van Gogh " Sunflowers", "Sunflower", " Stary Stary Night", " Skeleton Self Portrait" and Andy Warhol.. Pop Art … I'm so tired of seeing them every where… All across America art students in High School and College are asked to copy these " artistic Master pieces' most of which could be repreduced with more exhuberance by Elementary School children….

Marie McDonald on May 8, 2010 at 3:56 AM
  50. It's funny how I immediately thought of, apparently, the top 3 most tired out reproduced art. It was a tie for me between the Mona Lisa, The Scream, and Starry Night. If I had to pick one of these it would probably be the Mona Lisa. She has been reproduced sooo many times, been to so many places, has been animated to do just about anything from expressing surprise to eating soup, and has even been re-done into several different characters. All you have to do it Google it … I don't think I've seen any other piece of artwork become so commercialized.
