David’s designs are innovative and artistic; they make you stop in awe and also to ponder, “How in the world did he create that?” A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, David is a painter who now uses entire spaces, from the beach to ferry terminals, as his canvas.

For the American Patrons of Tate Artist's Dinner, held in the New York Waterway ferry terminal on a Hudson River pier at Thirty-ninth Street in Manhattan, David and his team create curtains made from 15,000 paint chips.

One thing you’ll notice as you flip through his most celebrated projects is that no two events are alike. Whether it’s his creative use of paint chips or a glow-in-the-dark recreation of New York City, guests step into a magically transformed space full of one-of-a-kind displays.

To celebrate the opening of the Walker Art Center expansion in Minneapolis, David erects a paint-can cityscape on the tables.

For the 2007 Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum's awards, David uses shredded office waste to create a paper garden.

In David Stark Design, David offers us a peek into his world and the inspiration behind his incredible designs, which he describes best in his intro, “My heart tells me to innovate and play without rules, make the sky the limit, and believe that there will always be an audience for fearlessness.”
