Recently, I came across the cutest product — the GurglePot. The beautiful, clean design of this fish-shaped pitcher was enough to win me over, but the gurgling sound it makes when it pours sealed the deal. This week, we’re giving you the chance to win ten Gurglepots in a variety of colors. All you have to do is answer our question before 12/11c, Monday, June 21. Be sure to provide a valid email address so we can contact you if you win.

i think cute things are ok in monderation. A monkey canister in your kitchen is fine if its just one and not the whole kitchen in monkeys. alittle can go along way.

  2. Debbie Heflin says:

Decorating with flamingos is definitely TOO cute!

  3. Ellen says:

Cutesy has to be in moderation – when it is, it becomes whimsy. When it becomes a theme or overpowering in a room, then it is too much!!

  4. Laura says:

Cute becomes too cute when the design loses its simplicity.

  5. Carole Schneider says:

A touch of cutesy or whimsy is great but don't overload.

  6. Cat says:

I saw a kitchen decorated with cow spot print curtains, cow border, cow canisters, red cabinets with black appliances, and cows in every place you could imagine . I think they miss the farm.

  7. Sheila Tisdale says:

Everything in moderation…too much of "cute" takes away from the room!

  8. Susan says:

Too cute is suffed animals all over the home with themed outfits.
OR even more…those geese you set out on your doorstep with raincoats or the like on them. That's too cute to be anything near nice looking!

  9. {The Freestyle Mom} says:

I think it's the overabundance of cute that does me in. I love pink, I love frills and ruffles, but always contrasted with something structured and solid.

Although anything with kittens is a definite no go.

  10. Julie says:

I loathe cutsey stuff, but if it is something hard like a vase or sculpture… spraypaint it a color that matches your decor! I think that will help a non-ok thing become ok.

  11. Carmen Morris says:

a little cute is ok and goes in the whismy category! But a little goes a long way!

  12. Lisa says:

All the little ceramic figurines lined up together or worst yet, in their own little curio cabinet.shelves, etc! I say clean and simple, maybe a few here and there…who wants to DUST all of that?? : )

  13. Paula Guarino says:

    When Mickey Mouse is EVERYWHERE!

  14. Nancy says:

Really do you need to ask??, Cute is never overdone!!!
    Cute is cute
    Gaudy is gaudy
so it is simple, make it cute NOT gaudy :)

  15. Denise T. says:

Who's really to say what's too cutesy…I think MY style is just the perfect mix of neutral/whimsical but someone else may not agree. I'll say I'm not a fan teddy bears-I have a friend who has gone totally overboard with them-but, to each his own.

  16. kellyw15 says:

A house full of kitten/cat or puppy/dog collectibles and stuffed animals. I love animals and have a cat, but it's not the decor theme of the house!

  17. Anna Ray Martin says:

When you have too many gurglepots! or any other cute item. I or 3 will do. Anymore and I am out the door!

  18. Tonya says:

When over-used. Here and there some "cuteness" is in order to keep the mood light and keep things from seeming too serious. But, when it looks like you never out-grew childhood, there's a problem. :)

  19. assertc says:

too cute and bad taste seem to go hand in hand: bows / ribbons, kittens, hearts, bears, vignettes of minatures, stuffed animals, rainbows, beanie babies behind glass and not being played with… pretty much, if it's themed and/or childlike, it's too cute.(too cute is like porn; you know it when you see it.)

i haven't seen these gurglepots in NH yet – it's fantastic. a great melding of design, fun and function. I would love to keep this out in the kitchen, use it daily with a smile, and my 3 year old would get a tremendous kick out of it – it might even make her drink more milk just to hear the gurgle! love it!!!

  20. I think it all depends on the person and the decor. I think too much of any one item is a problem. And they may not necessarily be "cute" items. Every room in my house is decorated differently. (And the kids, since they share a room for now is decorated in two ways). There's no common theme, and the kids' bathroom is overly cute. But, it's their bathroom (and the guests just have to deal). I still keep it all very simple and do not like "stuff" (knick-knacks of any kind). I have enough stuff that I need. I don't need decor to clutter things up. Very simple. Very clean. And not a bunch of crap that I'll have to dust and clean every week.

  21. Krys72599 says:

I have a single yellow rubber duckie in my bathroom. It's cute. Cute is okay.
    Cutesy is not.
There is not a single My Little Pony or Hello Kitty anything in my house. I have enough cavities!
    But a gurgle pot??? AWESOME!

  22. Kiy says:

If you have to question, it's too cute. Each person has their own style but if they start questioning "hmmm, is that too cute" – yep, gone overboard!

  23. placidair says:

It's too cute when you find yourself wondering if you've entered a room, or a theme park; when "cute" overpowers function and usefulness is lost; when you find yourself wondering if humans live there or gnomes, humanoid bunnies, cartoon characters or any other mythical creatures; or when it's so "sweet" that looking at it makes your teeth hurt. A bit of whimsy in a room can be fun, when the room is taken over by the whimsy — you've over done it.

  24. Celeste says:

Too cute is when you pick a theme, ie: apples, frogs, birdhouses, and buy everything and anything you can get yours hands on in that motif. A little goes a loooong way. Forgo the apple curtains and wallpaper for an apple painting or bowl. Maybe a small birdhouse or frog plant poke. Kind of like a little bit of a surprise.

  25. Crystal says:

Cute is cute…but when its too cute to be functional, that's too much!

  26. Megan Wilson says:

I don't think that decorations can be too cute. Whatever puts a smile on your face and makes you happy is what's important. I am not into anything cutesy but I enjoy seeing other people's cute decor. I like decorations that reflect a person's personality.

  27. Melissa Collazo says:

I say no more than one cute thing per room. But sometime you can't help it! :)

  28. Suzanne says:

When it moves beyond whimsy, which probably means a motif is used for more than an accent , or a collection is spilling into more than one room.

  29. Vicki says:

Obviously, if it looks like your 3-12 year old would love it, it's probably too cute. Adding a bit of whimsy to an otherwise mature room is fine or even having a display of cute in one area of a room might work.
It's a fine line…like genius and insanity, love and hate….one step over the line and you've ruined it.

  30. Fab says:

For me too cute design is when when you go over board with a theme or a single color, example using the same flower pattern, on everything in a girl’s room, becomes way too cute, and overwhelming to the eye. There must be a balance.

  31. CandyW says:

Enough is truly enough when its overdone. If you have a nice collection of chachkies .. fine .. find a place and set them out on desplay tastefully. Don't keep finding places all around to place them. Rotate the collection if you have that many that you cannot display at once without looking like a thrift store !

  32. Cynthia says:

If a man feels uncomfortable in a room, it is probably too cute. LOL

  33. Sarah says:

One or two "cute" things in a room is fine as long as they aren't the focal points and don't overwelm the room. However, if you're going to do a whole room of "cute" things, it better be for a toddler.

  34. Some cutesy is good…too much cutesy is, well, too much! these pitchers are adorable – I'd love to see it in other colors…a chartreuse green would be lovely!

  35. Terri Crisafi-Walker says:

I really like the Gurglepot. It would be a very summer addition to any house.

  36. Connie Brady says:

I love a touch of whimsy as an unexpected surprise. Just don't go overboard. My favorite is functional whimsy, charming things that also serve a purpose like your gurgling pot~

  37. Karen says:

anyroom that screams "theme" is too overdone.

  38. over the top cute is anything you notice before the rest of the room decor. If it is a subtle piece put in a place where you see it after you are in the space and taking that second look around, that is when it has the best impact.

  39. barbarascroggins says:

Too cute is when you collect so much of one thing, thats it's everywhere in your home. Like when you have so many salt and pepper shakers there even in your bath room. Really?

  40. Beth B. says:

Pink, lace, kittens, hearts, and teddy bears everywhere would be too cute for our taste but everybody's got their own ideas. Nice to be free to decorate any way you like.

  41. Justine says:

Anything lined in feathers is too cute. As are baby animals, too many sequins/rhinestones, and stuffed animals.

  42. Samantha says:

There's a big difference between "cute" and "camp". If anyone compliments your decor as being cute, it's a sure sign of it being "too much".

  43. Nikki says:

I think that anytime there are huge amounts of ruffles, dolls, akward floral prints is too much. Keep it simple!

  44. Jeremy says:

nothing's ever too cute!! to be safe, i would balance the room with one or two "cute" stuff instead of going overboard and be known as the Grandma's Parlor.

  45. Michelle Lally says:

sorry, if it has a bow on it, or feathers, you have crossed the “cuteness” line for decorating my friend

  46. Tricia Brown says:

Anything with too many flower prints.

  47. Karyn says:

Cute animals can only be used in a modern sort of way- other than that- no animal decor!

  48. Michelle says:

I think holiday decor can be too cutesy sometimes. I love Christmas, but I don't need to see 57 Santa statues, snowmen wreaths, multiple Christmas trees, etc. to get me in the holiday spirit!

  49. Sherry7055 says:

This looks like a salmon color to me. No mater the color, it is absolutely adorable! Would love to have it to go with my light-house and nautical decor.

  50. Ashley says:

My fiance and I both love Disney, but I can definitely see things getting too cute if we decided to decorate our whole house with it. A few little Disney things here and there is just cute enough :)
