  8. I love the scent of the fresh country air mixed with the faint aroma of banana bread baking in the kitchen on a crisp and sunny fall morning. The scent brings back warm memories and fills me with hope and happiness for the rest of the day. It reminds me that home is where the heart is, no matter where you are in the world.

    Home always had a spicy scent…curry, allspice, greens simmering, roast beef cooking,and chicken frying. And on Fridays…fish frying. Yummy!! And downstairs, we always had a candle burning that smelled like lavender. Ahhh! Those were the days!!

  15. there's so many that remind me of home: Cinnamon, Apple, sugar cookie dough, my mom makes this "Sour Cream Cougan" usually in the fall….it's my grandma's recipe….wow…..there are so many scents….pumpkin spice, apple, almond, fresh bread…..lasagna, stromboli (my dad makes it), home made spaghetti sauce….

    Fresh baked bread and fresh brewed coffee! My Mom always had a pot of coffee going so when you walked in the door that is what you smelled. It always reminds me of coming home from the service for a visit.

    Gain laudery detergent and lemons on a daily basis (clean) and cinnamon/apples/nutmeg for the holidays. It is the scent that conjurs up memories of home from years ago, currently use in my home and has been instilled as our "home scent" for my children as well.

  22. Living in my grandparents house for over twenty years and remembering the smell of coffee. As a little girl getting out from under layers of quilts and feeling that cold bedroom air, walking into the kitchen and having lots of Pet milk and very little coffee … real buttered toast made in the oven and homemade plum jelly!

    Tomatoes warm from the sun, fresh stripped ear of corn, and snapped green beans we had picked from the garden early in the day to a splash of cool pool water to finish it off. That reminds me of home.
