Sometimes it takes two to make a blog go right. That’s the case with Jo and Kim, the self-proclaimed “design junkies” behind Desire to Inspire.

Kim and Jo met sharing images on Flickr and decided to create a blog where together they could both share inspirational photos of their search for “the perfect room.” Sounds like a design fairytale come true, right? Design lover meets like-minded design lover, they fall in love with the same mid-century modern chairs and the rest is history? Here’s the catch – the two have never met in the four years they’ve been co-blogging. Kim lives in Canada and Jo is Australian. That’s one long-distance interior design affair!

The ladies of Desire to Inspire are known for the huge, lush photos they post, like this recent post about a neighborhood in Australia.

I love how personable both Kim and Jo are…sharing the trials and tribulations of remodeling their own kitchens, searching for the perfect leather chair. Their posts are informative, narrative and quite infectious. I’m particularly drawn to Jo’s modern Australian home and its ever-changing displays.

Desire to Inspire is not only full of drool-worthy photos of warm, modern style, it’s also a forum for the curious and confused to post their questions. No style goes untouched in their Reader Request posts. You want inspiring photos of dark, masculine baths? You got it! Need to see how wood paneling will work in the modern home? Kim and Jo to the rescue! They truly appreciate their fans and celebrate their design successes, like with this tour of a reader’s own home in Singapore.

Jo and Kim have created a dynamic community without even speaking face to face — what synchronicity. An impressive feat for these bi-hemisphere design junkies.

Please check out my blog. I've used my own home and neighborhood for my inspiration.

Really enjoy this blog. We recently moved from a large home to a cozier home with @1000 fewer square feet. However, one of the bedrooms really needs to be expanded and the accompanying bathroom reworked to make a livable master suite. Anxious for ideas…..
