Fall is upon us, and I’m in search of snuggle-up-by-the-fire-inducing designs.

It seems furniture artist Claire-Anne O’Brien had the same idea when she created these adorable knitted stools, which tap right into a recent hot trend in home decor: warm, cozy weaves. I love the playful quality of Obrien’s designs. One of these stools would look cute in an office or even a kids’ room.

Another fabulous response to this knitted trend is the Aran rug by FLOCKS. Hand-woven in soft wool by designer Christien Meindertsma, the chunky pattern adds interest and dimension, giving the piece an almost sculptural quality. Keep in mind that you’d have to make sure to pair this rug with modern furniture, chic accessories and a crisp color palette to avoid getting too whimsical or stuffy. If done right, I can’t see it being anything but fabulous!

I’m also a fan of the Urchin Pouf by FLOCKS. Part cushion, part stool and part ottoman, it’s the accessory-of-choice for softening up a previously stark living room or den.

Just when you thought the only place it was acceptable to use knits was on the ski slopes or at lunch with Grandma, it turns out they’re making a comeback. And they’re hipper than ever. (No offense Gramms.)

I Love them! Texture! Color! Beautiful. However, my cats would have a field day with these :(

My 6 year old daughter has even started knitting and inspiring me to do so as well! Seems much of what is 'old' becomes 'new' again! Great reminder post!
