Arteriors Home is making big moves. Not only have they been a favorite resource of mine for years — offering a gorgeous line of home accessories, small furniture and lighting — but now they’ve partnered with a terrific product designer, Laura Kirar to launch the Laura Kirar Collection.
Laura is the founder and creative director of Laura Kirar*TRU Design. Under her direction the teams in New York and Miami work in tandem to create elegant, innovative interiors and products for the home with timeless sensibility.
A designer with the soul of an artist, Laura completed her degree in sculpture and interior architecture at the prestigious School of Art Institute in Chicago. Her passion for artistic exploration in numerous mediums has continued to infuse her work with originality and thoughtful attention to detail.
I’ve always admired her lines for Kallista, Ann Sacks, Baker and McGuire, all part of Kohler Interiors. Her use of textured metals, modern shapes and timeless silhouettes makes all her pieces stand out. A few of my favorites from the Arteriors collection are the Caviar Cluster Brown Nickel/Smoke Glass:
and the Leaves and Seeds Pendant:
The Maize Vintage Brass Lamp has a lovely hammered effect on the leaves and comes with a Gold Silk Shade with Blue Haze Lining, proving again that the details matter. And Laura Kirar’s team doesn’t miss one of them.
Her carved solid wood Owl Sculpture stands about 18″ tall and has a white-wash finish. I love the mid-century feel of this piece, which would look great perched on a mantle or stack of books on a sideboard.
Arteriors Home is sold through retailers and designers across the country.
