Japanese architect Kataro Ide designed the Shell residence in Nagano, Japan.

The home’s concrete shell creates a striking counterpoint to its natural, forest setting…not to mention a great retro-future look. L’Usine offers a profile of the structure that was completed in 2008.

Oh wow … after looking at the pictures in the link you provided, I actually think it's quite pretty! It's much less Tomorrowland and goofy-looking inside!
