Indoor/outdoor fabrics are quite the rage these days. With their stain, mildew, bacteria and moisture-resistant properties, staying stylish has never been so easy!

These high-performance textiles are making their way inside the house as well, thanks to their durability, bold colors and fun patterns. I’ve used outdoor fabrics in kids’ rooms and playrooms for years, and as they continue getting softer and add more versatile styling, I can see them being used in an even wider range of rooms (think kid-and-pet-friendly sofas and dining room chairs).

Cowtan & Tout recently added a line of indoor/outdoor fabric. Made of 100% solution-dyed acrylic, you’ll still find plenty of awning and umbrella stripes, but you’ll also be pleasantly surprised with softer geometrics and animal prints.

Mixing and matching performance fabrics creates an exciting look. Instead of upholstering all of your dining chairs in the same fabric, mix up the patterns in the same color family for a little flair.

I think this style would look great in my sun room, mix and match those animal prints and their stain resistant that will come handy with my busy family.
