Fancy dinner parties certainly have their appeal, but I love nothing more than the homeyness of eating around a “farm” table.
I found one made from reclaimed barn wood in at the Brooklyn Flea several years ago and couldn’t resist it. It has just the right character — darkly stained with pits and gaps — that it never feels too fancy to use as a family table, yet always manages to look pulled together for fine dining. Thought you might like this one from a recent issue of Lonny. (The fabulous kitchen surrounding it doesn’t hurt, either.)

The table is made from recycled barn wood, it looks perfect with that beautiful kitchen of course, I wish I could have something like that to be able to cook and share story's in our recycled table with friends and family.
