The first day of winter is the longest, darkest day of the year. Brighten up your decor with handmade or store-bought snowflakes in a flurry of one-of-a-kind designs you can enjoy all winter long…or at least until you start decorating for Valentine’s Day.
We’ll also be illuminating our homes with the glow of candles, the shine of bright colors and mirrors and hints of spring: more winter decorating tips. And remember, the days are getting longer from here on out.





























Your post is a jewel Anna, and with each snowflake manmade or artfully invented they are a reminder of the sparkle of winter. I like the wall backdrop which could be changed from season to season, making anyplace in a home or an apartment a very new place to dine. Now lets add the candles–Season's Greetings
I scrolled a little and found an article on building a cold frame. This is probably what I would put outside if I won the HGTV Stowe Vermont Home. Always having fresh tomatoes peppers, some herbs for salad, and fresh salad greens will go a long way if they have a protective covering toward winter, and give them a jump start for spring.
There are some great ideas here – copy & re-create to do with kids…just on an easier scale. Fun for the holidays. I might be able to come up with some ideas for Easter from these "hints"
