I’m not a cold weather person, but for several weeks, the HGTV Dream Home 2011 and Stowe, Vt., have been consuming my thoughts. There’s something so dreamy and charming about this snow-covered skier’s paradise. I’ve even gone so far as to picture myself enjoying my morning coffee on the master bedroom’s private balcony while soaking up the surrounding mountain views and brisk air.

Sigh … isn’t she beautiful? Let’s head inside!

My absolute favorite space is the master bedroom suite (particularly the floor-to-ceiling, 17-foot-long draperies framing the entrance to the master bath). The vibrant cranberry walls are a perfect backdrop for the black pencil-post bed. The combination of both modern, with the artwork by Louis Eby, and rustic, like the weathered walnut and poplar doors, is what makes this space so comfortable and appealing to me.

I could definitely get used to this place. My wool slippers would be right at home in front of the right-side nightstand, and with two reading lamps peeking through the back bed panel, I can finally finish that book I’ve been reading since Thanksgiving. Plus, I think my kitten D’Artagnan would be completely content with the Dream Home 2011 replica as his new bed/hangout spot. Want to see more? Step into the master bedroom suite with a complete 360-degree tour of the space.

I’m a sucker for mountain views, and Mount Mansfield has now officially topped my list. Despite the cold winter weather, if I lived in Dream Home 2011, the lower-level terrace would be my new favorite spot all year round. Located directly below the main-level deck, the terrace boasts a state-of-the-art grilling station, dining table and an in-ground hot tub and fireplace.

The marble-top dining table comfortably seats six with an ideal view of some of Mother Nature’s finest. Just a few feet away, the outdoor grilling station provides a gas grill and plenty of counter space for summertime cookouts and entertaining. The six-person hot tub with gas fireplace is simply divine.

For a complete view, step onto the terrace with a 360-degree tour. Dying to see the other 19 spaces that make up Dream Home 2011? The home’s most beautiful photos are all in one place.

Since I work for HGTV, this Stowe, Vt. house can only occupy my day dreams. You still have 44 days left to enter the HGTV Dream Home 2011 sweepstakes for a chance to win it. And this year, we’re making your chances to win even greater. Enter twice daily – once on HGTV.com and once on FrontDoor.com.

  7. Martha Weston Durfee says:

I am a daughter, grandaughter, niece of native Stowers and am a little perplexed at the modernist decor of the dream home. I guess I am just too set in New England traditions.

  8. Michelle says:

My absolute favorite room is the guest room. Engaging the entire room as a reflection of the outdoor stone and fireplace was accomplished impeccably… Job well done in my opinion!!!

  9. Sandy says:

"Saint's Crazy Eights" Dorm, is the name for Eight Lucky Snowboarders Dorm. When I first saw the 2011 HGTV Dream Home I fell in love with my new home. I have dreamed waking up in that master queen size bed with a smile on my face and a glow in my heart. I have even moved furniture around in my mind and I would love to be there even with all that snow. I have entered everyday twice and voting on the home gifts. It will be a dream come true. Praise GOD, Love JESUS!!!

Beautiful home. Our dream home. Hoping our family wins.

My husband said that people like us do not win thing's like this, I would really love to prove him wrong. I am a domestic house wife and my husband is a HVAC technician. My husband has been working since he was 9 years old and I would really love to have him take a break and spend some time with his family. Winning this home would allow him to just do that, we would take full advantage of all the Amenity's Stowe has to offer. I would love for him to take our 6 year old to lake champlain and teach her how to fish. Well I will be praying for this dream to come true. P.S. even if we do not win this home I will still watch HGTV , Love it :-)

well I dont know I was looking for a beautiful winter home but excuse me but even my little nephew could make this one 100 % better like the location why is my hot tub towards the road and who did the color scheme for the master bedroom, red really? and some kind of a dorm room and bath am I suppossed to turn my home into a ski lodge? I was going to enter but seeing this I've changed my mind. I want a gorgeous home back away from the road with an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, and hot tub a great, spacious living room with a two story fireplace so I can have an enormous christmas tree, a beautiful kitchen with a double sided sink and dishwasher, grill, regular stove a large oven cause I love baking pies. a huge master bedroom and bathroom with a cool round bathtub and a rather large shower where I can have a stool so I can wash my feet. the whole home will be done in creams and blues throughout and I want a five car garage.

This would be such a wonderful place for me and my family to heal. After round 3 of breast cancer I would be able to just concentrate on getting better, also my children and grandchildren would have a beautiful place to visit me and help me get better mentally and physically. What a wonderful dream!!!

I hope you all heal from this bad situation you have happening to you. I know, I lost a brother at 47 and my mom in Aug to lung cancer. God bless you

  17. Debra St.Peter RN says:

I'm originally from the area but had to move away from my children, parents and loved ones because of the recession. My husband had to take a job in arizona. My husbands parents we lost recently and I lost my Mom in Aug of 2010. This being away from the east coast has taken it's toll of both my husband and I. I have been a giver all my life. I took care of my mother in law for two years before she past. I am a registered nurse and give of myself daily. I'd like to get back home to my children and my new baby granddaughter expected to be here April 14th. This is my DREAM :)

I know how you feel being away from the East Coast. It has caused illness with me but I return to Vermont whenever I can to heal my soul.
We started skiing in Stowe in the 70's but the last time I skiied there was 1993 before we moved South.
It really would be a dream fulfilled to return to the Green Mountain air, delicious food, beautiful scenery, and general pleasantries. Good luck!

    • Homebound4Stowe:) says:

A lot of ppl were wondering about the closet space! I just hope Im not gonna have to use the mud room as my closet! I love the house I dont care if I have to use half of the car garage to store my clothes!!;)

  20. jen says:

Who can tell me how the house is heated, how many water heaters, and whether there is curb-side recycling? Also, are there fees associated with living in Spruce Glen area, or tennis courts at the Lodge? Thanks, just curious.

  21. Kimberleana says:

Wow some people are not grateful for having HGTV giving away a home, bashing this beautiful home that is going to be FREE to one lucky person. I would be so grateful for just having a place to call home and not having to pay someone else's mortgage. My father always said, If you do not have nothing nice to say don't say nothing at all :-)

  22. pixelecho69 says:

This Dream/House 11 is wonderful to look at and imagine what it would be like to be able to call it Home It is what It is A DREAM.

  23. Jennifer says:

Amazing job HGTV!! What a gorgeous home inside and out! I just can't stop imagining my family and I enjoying this home in beautiful Stowe!!! What a dream!

  24. Lisa Spainhour says:

What a GORGEOUS Mountain Home. Great Job!!! My husband and I love it. My kids could all come visit. My Birthday is in Feb so it would be a nice present to win such a beautiful home. Plus with my health issues and being out of work waiting forever on disability no money to fix up current home.

This would make my Best Birthday EVER! :)

  25. Lynne says:

This home is absolutely beautiful – my husband retired earlier this year and I feel bad that he is a skier but feels guilty to go to Stowe since I am still working. To win this home and be in Vermont year round would be like retirement to me even though I am still working. Also my children being skiers would probably come more often since they live in Europe.

No wonder they call it "Dream Home", I can only hope that I can be so lucky to win.
