I wish you could see the cheek-to-cheek grin I’m sporting right now. The source of my immense elation appropriately comes from design blogger extraordinaire Joy D. Cho, of the blog Oh Joy!, who has launched a delicious new wallpaper line to accompany her stationary and accessories. Joy’s three patterns, including “Petal Pusher” pictured below, are available through Hygge & West, bi-coastal purveyors of simple, chic style.

Hygge & West wants to give you your choice of a roll from Joy’s new wallpaper line to outfit your home. (Be sure to also check out “Lovely Leaves” and “A Stone’s Throw Away”.) All you need to do is answer this week’s question before 12/11c Monday, January 17th to be entered.

This week’s question: What’s your favorite way to use wallpaper or what room do you like to use wallpaper in best?

This wall paper would look great in my home office, especially on the wall behind my seating area.

  3. Robyn says:

I have always wanted to branch out and try wallpaper to spruce up the otherwise neutral pallet in our house. I'd love to wallpaper the main floor bathroom in our 1940's house to play up the original aqua/black tiling!

  4. cradder says:

I like to use wallpaper in a nook or other small area of a room. After wallpapering the small space, I frame small pieces of the leftover wallpaper in various photo frames that I place throughout the rest of the room. These pops of the print make the room fun and cohesive.

I haven't used wallpaper in about 10 years, but I am excited that it is making a comeback and my new favorite spot for wallpaper…… is the bathroom. I have a small 1/2 bath that i am going to put a big, bold pattern in. I'm looking forward to getting started! :)

Love a bold print on one wall in a bedroom as a backdrop for the bed.

  17. Dominique farrow says:

I would use wallpaper in my master bedroom behind the bed to create a nice focal point for the room. It's a great way to add texture and pattern to a room when you can't paint it on.

  18. Ginger says:

I have been wanting to try wallpaper for a framed out headboard… Easy to change when it fits my mood and looks dramatic… Wallpaper in the laundry room is nice… it can be such a dreary place, it is nice to add a bit of punch to make it happy.

  19. Beth says:

I have used wallpaper in almost every room; bathrooms, bedrooms, entry halls, dining rooms, living rooms, and stairwells. I think my favorite room for using wallpaper is the dining room. The dining room can be drab and predictable, but wallpaper can give it some punch! The dining room also usually has the most empty wall space, where there is little to no shelving or furniture along the walls.

  20. Seiko says:

In my bedroom, to give me some extra inspiration, and to make the room feel more lively. Also, in any room that needs to be covered up due to imperfections or cracks in the wall.

  21. Caitlin says:

For me it's a tie between the Master Bathroom and the Dining Room as "favorite" rooms but I really like it in all bathrooms and potentially any room depending on the layout and flow between rooms. With patterns this gorgeous it would be easy to get carried away and I'm sure you can overdue it if you're not careful!

  22. CARMELITA says:

Oh, wallpaper definitely enhances a reading or study area as it gives your eyes something to focus on when you look away from a book to reduce eye fatigue.

  23. Stephanie Davis says:

I like to use wallpaper to cover the inside (back) of bookcases and also use wallpaper to frame into different size pictures and make beautiful sets to hang on the wall. And I would like to use wallpaper for an accent wall, leave 3 walls one solid color and make an accent wall using a wallpaper that I liked.

  24. Ron in NC says:

I have never used wallpaper; thought it might be too grannyish, but not with the designs I've seen recently. I'd love to use it on a wall at the top of my staircase.

  25. Selena says:

I am buying a house – my first – in a couple of months and have been thinking of using wallpaper in my bedroom. I have never used it before but I love color and pattern and think it would be fun to introduce them into my room in this new way.

  28. Shevonna says:

I'm normally terrified to committ to papering an entire room so I would use wallpaper in small amounts such as inside molding behind an art object in the foyer or dining room.

  29. crow0078 says:

I like to put an abstract wallpaper behind the wall my bed is against. with my neutral colored padded headboard, it makes the bed stand out and is an art statement in itself.

  30. Katelyn says:

I used it on an accent wall in the bedroom! It's great to find color inspiration and spice up the room.

  31. Adrie says:

I like the extra interest of wallpaper on the back board of bookshelves or cabinets! It can make a simple bookshelf full of whimsey or wow, quiet contemplation or classic elegance!

  32. libby says:

Using wallpaper in a transitional space that's small but packs a lot of punch, like the little hallway hub where all the rooms on the ground floor of our house meet – Oh Joy!'s petal pusher in white and gold would be perfect! I've actually ordered a sample and it's gorgeous in person!

  33. lizzyinatizzy says:

I've always loved quirky and classic wallpaper! As a kid I would use any bits I could get my hands on for art projects. I've been on a never-ending quest to find the perfect pattern for my bedroom, and I love to use all the various sample scraps I've accumulated to wrap presents, make custom cards and envelopes, line drawers- just about anything I can think of!

  34. Adrienne says:

I would use it in a hallway for interest.

  35. Sheila876 says:

I would love to use wallpaper in a small powder room. It can also be used on door panels to add character to a room or closet. Another great use is to cover metal waste baskets with a wallpaper and add decorative trim.

  36. lauriei staffeld says:

I have this fabulous wallpaper on an accent wall in my great room and bedroom it's made to be torn into pieces and pasted on the wall to resemble stone.. love it! I always have people running their hands along the wall feeling the texture and marveling over it when they come to our home.

  37. makeroom says:

My favorite way to use wallpaper is on the headboard of a bed. When I want to freshen up the room or change with the seasons, putting a new roll of wallpaper on the headboard is both easy and economical. The multitude of choices give me inspiration to achieve the results I'm looking for.

I always made fun of my mom for having wallpaper up in her house until I bough my own new house…I guess wallpaper has evolved and isn't so much of the tacky 80's anymore. I have wallpaper in my bathroom and it looks like a flower design painted on. It is so pretty. I would use this wallpaper in my family room, its in need of some help. There is one focus wall and it would look great with a pretty subtle wallpaper on it. It would give it personality without being too bold :)

  44. corrie says:

I love, love , love , to use wallpaper behind a bed frame as a feature wall.Something bold and delicious inviting you to lie down in front of the paper as if you were part of it. Perfect!

I actually wrote a whole post about it on my blog!

  46. Regan G says:

I like using mine as art… framing pieces of my favorite wallpaper in a nice frame, and hanging it in the room. Sometimes having several different sized frames. Its an less expensive way to spruce up the room w/art work, thats easy to change out.

  47. joanne says:

I remember that when we bought our first home (many years ago), I used wallpaper in every room. I especially remember my kitchen wallpaper that was the standard teapots and grapes, but with a twist of metallic. I thought I was so avant garde! But this OJoy! paper is stunning and I'm so glad to see that wallpaper is back. I would use it in my living room on the wall behind the couch. Everyone would see it as soon as they come in our home and it is so fun yet classic at the same time.

  48. tamcneill says:

I love to paper the inside of my closets.

  49. Vicki Williams says:

  50. heavensangel77 says:

I would use this wallpaper as an accent wall in my dining room. I already have ornate gold curtains in there and this would be perfect to pull everything together.
